@ tacobellangel She's just gathering informations about the other dog. It's the same as when dogs smell each others privates but more...thorough. It's not sexual or even about dominance.
@ tacobellangel As above and also to gather information on the animal. It's like us meeting someone and having a chat about who they are and what they've been up to. Dogs sniff each other's bums to find out things like the other dog's sex, age, where they've been recently, where they are in their reproductive cycle etc.
I thought I was the only one! My cat, Sumu, acts like a total lez. Whenever I talk on the phone with someone (especially a guy) she gets incredibly miffed or jealous. I, at first thought maybe it was my imagination but now I'm positive.
When I'm walking around with my cell she'll wind in and out of my legs, grab my ankle with her nails, or dart in front of me. If I'm sitting and chatting she'll jump on top of my desk and begin to meddle with my papers or other objects, even though she doesn't do this regularly.
She loves to snuggle up in bed or massage my legs or stomach when she's lying on top of me and sometimes when she's in my room when I'm asleep, I'll wake up with her next to my bed staring at me and purring.
I've always had boy dogs from the puppies I have now at my place with my boyfriend to the dogs at my mom's that I lived with growing up, and most of them have tried or succeeded in humping one of their brothers (well, adopted brothers. Only two of them are actually brothers and they've never humped each other, to my knowledge) at one point or another, lol. Not completely convinced dogs even think about sexuality like that or that it even has anything to do with attraction (my yorkie humps my slipper constantly and my cockapoo at my moms is always going wild on a stuffed Angry Bird, and I don't think that has anything to do with sexual attraction, lol. though it could... I don't judge, haha.). So I guess in human terms that would make my dogs gay, if they did have any sexual orientation.
