I thought this site was for creative writing, not who can write how many articles.
Honestly, a lot of us don't have the time of day to write an article, and I don't see the point of having this when people are here to creatively write.
To me, not a lot of Articles are creative. It all depends on what you think of writing as, but for me, writing articles isn't it.
I like seeing how much people contribute to the boards.

Sorry, but I don't like this.

I really do not like this idea because I can see that people would get jealous easily over one author getting more "points" than them if the story quality was lower than a more deserving author. Maybe that makes sense, maybe it doesn't, but favoritism is going to be a huge play in this and that's unfair.

dude, that is so messed up, i mean if someone wants to comment or not is their choice, writing is about expression, it's not a sport or a compition, if others want to do such things like threaten or be mean to get comments well it's their choice, they'll lose the readers. not this

I don't like this idea either. I don't write articles really. I'm more of a story and poem kind of person. So what happens if you don't write articles or something?

Dujo, i personally agree with everyone. What is the point? I mean half of the people on here Don't even write Articles. And if there is more things to do to get points clearly you should've waited for everyone to have a fair chance. It is pointless and i think a waste of time. the other system i think was much better. Disgust

    :/

this is... well, interesting. Is it possible to lose points?
As of right now, I have not decided whether I like this system or not compared to the previous system.

    Only for posting Articles?
Hmm, okay. I guess I can deal with this. Not my favorite, but it's cool.

Can you get points taken away?

I think so too. I use post counts as a indicator to how 'experienced' on the site a user is. Someone with a higher post count would have to be on the site for longer, and would know more about how it works.

Whereas points tell you nothing about how long they've been there.
Not really. I've been a member just about since mibba was formed, and I've never had a high post count. But I post my writing here and read another story or two. I normally don't bother with forums.

I like this idea, once the points can be awarded for other things too. But what will we do with the points? Do we get something for having a certain number of points?

I don't really like this idea. I am not a very good writer and if poems and stories end up getting these point things. I think it's just going to put people like me down. And writing's what I do to stop that and to forget about ranks and points and stuff.

...So I'm definitely in the minority right now for two reasons.

One- I actually read the first post, and realize that it's not just for article writers.

    Two- I like this.

I like this idea, as it encourages our writing and such, but I feel it'll turn into some kinda popularity contest once we're allowed to reward points. And then people will feel bad when they're now "good enough" to recieve points from other users.

I can already see the confessions postst on that issue...

so it says "soon you'll be able to get points from other users..."
does that mean, if I have 300 points, and I give someone 100 points for a good story, I'll lose 100 points?
