    Months.
    lmfao
    Well, Starling is.

Harlow Summerford took about a week or two.

My Holmes story takes forever because I never write on it. When I do, it takes about half-an-hour. That storiy's really easy to get going on.

I will never update unless I have a story already written. D: I'm terrible at it.

And I will never finish a story if I have to leave it too long. lmfao

I generally have to complete my stories pretty quickly. My only two finished ones were from NaNo, and I wrote one 60k story in around three weeks, and a 70k story in two weeks.

So, when I try, I do all right. But I just can't concentrate on a project for a long period of time, it gets hard for me to sit down and write it. The excitement of NaNo makes me write unnaturally quickly (for myself, at least).

With one shots, I tend to write them in one sitting over a few hours. Occasionally, I'll write half and return to it months later.

I'm just so bad at getting stuff done without an incentive. Facepalm

Most of my novel-type-thingies took about a month to write, which is crazy sounding at first, but then I had to go back and revise a bunch of stuff. That took a few more months. I've more than doubled their original length through doing that.

Initially, a 60-page document in Word will only take me maybe a month and a half, but that's only if I know exactly what I'm going to write. And even with Say It Like You Mean It! it took around three months to do, and I planned that sucker out blow-by-blow.

For a single chapter, I can usually do it within a day. Most of the time, though, I lose interest and get sidetracked. Shifty

Just thought I'd throw out there that As The Sister of Harry Potter took me around three years to complete, it's over 100,000 words, and I'm still not done editing it File
I'm sloooooow. I used to read the girl's stories on Quizilla who wrote one a year, and for Quizilla, they were awesome stories Shifty

I tend to update really frequently, usually a couple of weeks or months.
But it can take me anywhere from twenty minutes to a couple of days to write a chapter or a one-shot. It really depends on the inspiration behind it. Very Happy

Really frequently when I'm into it. On my current story, I haven't even been a week without updating.

Most stories it'll take me like a few weeks to even open the document.

It takes me ages, even if it's a story I'm really into writing. Facepalm I want every little word choice to be perfect so I spend ages writing it and then checking and re-checking it to see if I could have phrased something better.

If I'm really focused on the update, and I know what I'm doing and I'm not getting distracted every ten seconds I can get out a decent update 1000+ in half an hour or so.

But if I'm distracted and I have no idea what I'm doing, it can take me hours to get an update of 500 words.

And then gaining inspiration for a update is a entirely different thing.

When I first started my The Life of an Alchemist story I was super into it. So I was pulling chapters everyday for a couple of days then they started to spread about. Now, the last time I posted a chapter was June 29th.

But that finished the arc and I gotta start on the next one, it's going to be hard because I added two characters. I am best with just a single character and maybe two.

But once I get inspiration it will come out of my ass so fast your head will spin.

This update that I'm working on right now has only taken me an hour or two so far, and it's at 1.2k right now.

It takes me months. I'm really busy and I have writers blocks scarcely. But when I come to certain parts in a story, I tend to get lazy and not write for a while. Then I finally muster up the will to write when I'm not busy with everything else. But my chapters are very long (well, in one story they are [including the sequel]) and my subscribers are used to my long updates.

    EDIT.
Then there's that time when I forget certain things about a character and it throws me for a loop. Sometimes I mess up and put things in there that weren't there in the beginning of the story because I forget. And sometimes the internet is down. A lot of crazy dilemmas.

Stories can take me anywhere from and day to years to write.
And more than half the time I don't end up updating the story.

This is usually I back myself into a corner T.T half the time nothing feels right when I write it

I try to update at least once a week. To keep myself in the writing mood and to make sure I don't forget about what I am writing about. However, I have been known to not update something for years.

Right now I have not updated "A Kiss That Bites" in over two weeks and that is my fault really. I have been coming up with other stories, random plots, one shots, and working on the story about Andrainea. I have several people who love "A Kiss That Bites", but I just haven't found my muse for that story. Right now, I am in a mood to write about Andrainea. *le sigh*

It depends honestly. Sometimes I take forever and then sometimes I can get an update or even a story done really quick.

Scratch that Last I started and finished a year later.

I started After the War a couple times, but it took three years to really buckle down and write it.

It depends on what I'm working on. Sometimes I can write something in a day or two, sometimes it takes me months.

One-shots, I can write in an hour, two at most. After tht, it depends on how long my story is. I get too bored and fidgety if I write more than 2,000 words a day and nothing comes out right after that point, so when I'm writing, I always tell myself to write 1,000 words a day or thereabouts, so if I'm writing a 10k story, it'l take me ten days.

Oh god, it normally takes me about three days to write like one update, which puts me so far behind in my writing. Sometimes it takes me a whole month to write something. It once took me almost a year or so to write an update for this story of mine. I felt so bad.
