Well like the best examples I have is that one story I literally had an update sitting around for several months before I got the muse to finish it while yesterday I had one update that I wrote in less than twenty minutes.

Chapters taking longer than oneshots for me, most of the time. Chapters take days, whereas a oneshot tends to take between half an hour and three hours.

Chapters tend to take weeks for me, but I always end up procrascinating, or having school work to do. I try to update as often as I can, with Over Exposure my initial idea was every month, and with Special K. I intended to update every two weeks...

Neither of these have worked out XD

One-shots usually take me about a week to write if I completely focus on it. Sometimes depending on what it is, a night.

It all depends on how I'm feeling and what's going on in my life.

If I'm not stuck on a part in a chaptered story, I can update about once a week. One-shots usually take a day (or just a few hours). Short fics can range anywhere from two weeks from start to finish to a couple of months to finish once I've started one.

But when I have some serious writer's blockage (like I've had for the last two months), it can take forever for me to update a chaptered story. But I can bang out one-shots like nobody's business, which makes absolutely no sense to me, but whatever.

Sometimes it takes me like a day or two to update chaptered stories or stories that are gonna get more than one or two chapters but I usually wait until at least one person reviews my fic and even then, that takes at least a week if I don't find the right person that likes the story enough to comment. Now if I actually have a story planned out, I usually try writing out all of my chapters first and then post them one day at a time. I have millions of stories written on notebooks that I want to post on Mibba but it would take at least a day to type up one chapter and then possibly another day to even post it on Mibba. But I have yet to finish any of my fics though. T.T

I fail at chaptered fics, generally speaking. I lose interest or inspiration, and it'll just sit there until I get it back. If I get it back, that is.

Oneshots and drabbles depend on what they are. I've written stuff and had it totally finished in as little as half an hour, and there's some that have taken me weeks or months to do.

For oneshots, I can write something in ten minutes to three days. Once it was four, because it was something very meaningful to me.

Short stories (~5 chapters) can take me many months simply because I get worried each update isn't up to par with the previous.

Longer stories, like the one I'm working on now, can take me several months to get past the first few chapters. Starcatchers, for example, has taken me three months just to write the first chapter because I couldn't start it in a way I liked. Then, I couldn't continue it how I liked so I scrapped and rewrote it all.

Updates can come anywhere between ten minutes after and several weeks after. It all depends.

    I take forever to update.
It's all about inspiration for me and there's no definite date for inspiration to appear.
I take anywhere from a few weeks to months to update stories.

Oneshots on the other hand usually take me a few hours to write.

It took me about an hour to write [http://stories.mibba.com/read/383574/Covetousness/1/]Covetousness[/url] but that was over a day, in different lessons. tehe

Admittedly I'm not very consistent with update times. Sometimes it can be daily, yet other times I can leave it for a month or two, it depends on the story: With Demon Eyes, I already have the chapters written down, so I have to type up and edit what I have on paper, that can take a whole evening! The oneshots and updates for my other stories don't take as long to type, as the words come straight from my head at that moment, although even when I do have time, I'm awful when it comes to procrastination!

I've been working on the same story, which I am determined to have posted by summer, for seven years. =D

My story Gaunt gets updated every few months. Not because I'm uninterested, but because I'm never satisfied. EVER. It's awful.

Now it seems I can only write when I'm in the library, so I get to write updates a couple of time a week.

I've been really into writing short drabble-sized updates for the couple of stories I'm working on right now, and in one sitting, I can get about eight bits done.

An hour or two, depending on how much inspiration I'm feeling. If I'm feeling super inspired, I can write 1500 words in 45 minutes. Otherwise, I take a few hours to write a chapter.

In general, though, it's just whenever I feel the motivation to write. If I'm inspired, I'll write but if I'm not, I'm not going to force it out. I'm also a beast at procastinating, so Facepalm

Depends on the size of the update, anything under 1000 words would probably take me thirty minutes or less.
While something that is over 1,500 it could take around an hour.

Also it depends on what type of inspiration I am having, cause if I have lots of inspiration going on 2,000 words could take about an hour.

It takes me a solid two or three months to produce a oneshot that I'm satisfied with. I do most of my writing in my head, so I have to spend a lot of time playing around with wording, getting in the characters' heads, and picturing the moment before I actually sit down and start typing it out.

I do most of my writing in my head at night when I'm trying to fall asleep, and I've found that I'm more satisfied with the pieces I have an adequate amount of time to mill over in my head first than I am with something I had to crank out in a couple weeks for a contest.

There are rare occasions when I get inspired and have to type something out right then and there, but that's usually only for shorter pieces. Longer things require more time and effort than that. If I'm really in love with an idea or a prompt, I know I'm going to do a better job at making the story live up to my own expectations if I think it out and take my time instead of being impulsive about it.

Chapters generally come along more quickly, especially if I'm updating the story consistently, but if I go months between updates, it takes me some more time to get back into the feel of the story.

I write the update in three hours or so but when it comes to actually updating it....probably two weeks or so.

If I can actually sit down and write it, it usually takes me less than 45 minutes to get out a chapter. But since I'm a college student, I can't always find the time or energy to do that.
