Accidents Happen - CLOSED

Jake grabbed the girl's arm before she could topple to the floor. "Hey, you okay?" he asked.

Kasie nodded. "Yeah, I'm a clutz." she said, tucking a piece of hair behind her head. "Sorry," she said, moving to step around him.

He took a closer look at her face. "You're not a klutz. You're just tired. What's going on?" he asked.

She scoffed. "I'm supposed to believe that you, Jake Montgomery, actually cares what's going on in my life. I'm not some innocent sweet girl like Zoe, I know your type. And I already have a kid so, you can skedaddle now." she said, raising a brow before going to step around him again.

He stepped in front of her again. "What's my type then?" he asked challenging her.

"You're a jock. You go through high school sleeping with as many girls as you can, you get one pregnant. You say you'll be there but when the going gets tough, you'll bail." she shrugged, successfully stepping around him this time. She then started towards her classroom.

He caught up with her. "That is not true," he said following her.

"Really? I mean, I seem to recall you already refused to admit it was yours when Zoe first found out." she said, not even glancing at him.

He groaned. "I was being stupid. Guys are always stupid. I never meant to hurt her. Besides, I plan to be there for her and our kid even if she has chosen to be with another guy," he told her.

"Wait, what?" She asked, spinning to look at him. "Wai-hol-back up." She stuttered. "She's with another guy?" she asked, eyebrow raised.

He frowned. "Yeah. Didn't she tell you?" he asked.

"No. I haven't talked to her since right after she left." she said, tucking her hair behind her ear before turning back towards the direction of her class.

He followed her. "I thought you two were friends," he said.

"We just haven't talked," she said, shrugging slightly.

He nodded. "I actually work for her boyfriend. It's a bit weird, but at least I can start saving money for my kid's college fund," he told her.

"Why are we still talking?" She asked, turning to look at him.

He looked at her. "I don't know. I just thought maybe you'd like the company," he answered.

"Ohhh okay," she said, sarcastically.

He nodded. "But, it's clear you don't want me here, so I'll leave you alone. Have a good day," he said and turned and left down the hall towards his own class.

She rolled her eyes before turning back to her classroom, walking inside.

Zoe walked into her mom's house, dropping her keys onto the table by the door. She kicked off her shoes before heading towards the couch. She dropped down, curling into the cushions and pulling the blanket off of the back around her.
