Comment Swap

This is a brilliant idea, but it'd be good if you could select if you were swapping a one shot or chaptered story.

I love it the only problem I'm having is that I didn't see the rules until after I posted and the story I have no only has 3 chapters and I posted twice. I don't want to post a third time because it just seems weird. :/ I might have to wait until they post another chapter...

Yeah, that's IE, which doesn't work very well with Mibba, unfortunately. If you have access to Google Chrome, that's the browser that works best.

So I tried this out, and it still says I need to comment on the story even after I've done so. Does it just take a little while to update?

@battalions Oh. That's sad. I don't know how to change this, and I have a lot of other sites that work well with IE, so this is really no biggie for me. Plus, everything seems to work okay on my iPod.

Did your comment meet the character minimum? All comments need to be at least 200 characters to count towards the comment swap.

@ Audrey T I noticed right after I posted that it wasn't and thought I edited the comment, but it won't save the changes.

If you can't edit your original comment, you can just make a new post with the edited version of the comment. That should take care of things.

I don't know how I'm going to feel about this, but the success of my Fan-Fiction one-shot makes me want to see if I'll get even more punctuation criticism.

How do you get a new story to comment on?

You submit another story of yours that you want a comment on and automatically you're given a new story to comment on.

I love the idea, however I wish there was a way to choose a different recommended story, some of the stories I have received have made me uncomfortable to read and I am not able to give a proper response to the author since I did not enjoy the story.

I feel like if we get too narrow, people will have their lesser known fandom stories ignored, which is not what we want.

I don't think so. I think some people really won't care what they read, and will select everything and keep it really general, and then get those lesser known fandom stories.

I haven't used it yet, but I assume it only gives you one story. Perhaps it should give you an option of 3 stories, and then you can open them up, see if any catch your eye (a certain band, no slash, doesn't make you uncomfortable for whatever reason), and then tick what one you'll comment on and then it's yours.

I used comment swap once yesterday and I had about 209 characters, left a comment on the story recommended for me to read and got one back for my story I recommended. Now, it won't let me select another one of my stories. It says that I do not have permission to access this feature. What does that mean? Can someone please tell me? I would really like to know.

I'm not sure. I'm able to use it, but staff had access to test it before it was live. It's possible Dujo's working on something right now. Unfortunately, we'll need to wait for him to come online and answer your question.
