"Well... I don't think it was holding hands, since no one seems to care about that, so I'm going to say it was the fact that he kissed me right before he let me leave," Tobi said, a small blush creeping back onto her face again.

Kalem held back another frown of disgust and nodded his head. "Oooh, so you're that type of couple." He said with an uneasy chuckle.

Tobi tipped her head with a raised eyebrow. "That type of couple?" she echoed. "I'm pretty sure I don't want to know what you mean... so I'm not going to ask."

Kalem turned to look at her with a smirk. "Oh - I know you want to know. All you gotta do is ask and I'll tell you what you're dying to know!" He winked.

Tobi shook her head adamantly. "Nuh uh. Besides, I think I can sort of figure out what you mean for myself." She stuck her tongue out at him. "And I don't mind if we kiss in the hallway, as long as it isn't in front of my teacher who will yell at us."

Kalem rolled his eyes at her and shook his head. "So you'll kiss me in the hallways?" He teased her about the way she phrased her words and shook his head.

Tobi rolled her eyes. "You wish," she said, shaking her head. "I was talking about Caden and I." She trailed off, thinking about the conversation in the hallway earlier, and sighed.

Kalem chuckled lightly and shook his head. "No - you said WE! I think you were talking about you and me!" He chuckled.

Tobi reached out and shoved Kalem's arm, despite that they were in the middle of class and she could get in trouble for it. "C'mon, you know what I meant!" she argued, though a smile played at her lips. Even if he frustrated her beyond belief a lot, somehow she could still manage to smile and joke with Kalem as well.

Kalem smirked a little when he saw the smile on her face. It was so adorable and he was glad to see it from her. "Did I actually? Come on - I can see the smile on your face - I know!" He said with a teasing wink.

Tobi a stifled laugh -once more, they were in class and she could get in trouble- and shook her head, pressing her lips together and fighting back the smile. Finally, she schooled her face into a neutral expression and stuck her tongue out at him. "You see no such thing," she declared. And then, because her luck was that great, they both got called out for disrupting class and were asked to step out into the hall... Great. First Caden gets me in trouble, and now Kalem too.

Kalem smiled a little and then sighed as they were sent outside. It was completely good for him - but he didn't want her to think that he had made if happen. "I'm sorry - I didn't mean to get you in trouble Tobi." He said to her seriously.

Tobi was rather surprised by the apology, and gave him an odd look for a moment before she shook her head. "It's fine," she said, sitting down with her back to the wall. "We're probably going to be out here until the class ends though, so I'd make myself comfortable if I were you."

Kalem chuckled a little and slumped down beside her, shaking his head. "So really - what is it with this Caden guy that you like so much? He must be pretty special to get such a beautiful, independent woman to take notice." Layer on the compliments.

Tobi shook her head as he somehow managed to steer the conversation back to Caden. "Wouldn't you like to know?" she raised an eyebrow at him. "To me, the better question is how you know the buttons to press to completely piss him off. Oh, and I hope you appreciate the fact that I probably saved your life today, considering how angry he was."

Kalem chuckled lightly as he looked at her and he shrugged, playing it off coolly. "I don't know - guess he's just easy to read is all." He chuckled and then shook his head, his eyes narrowing - not in a threatening way but in a way that read that she had no idea who she was dealing with. "Nah - I think I could've taken him."

(Haha, I bet! Senior year isn't exactly a walk in the park either, apparently)

Tobi rolled her eyes. "I honestly don't care if you can or can't. I just don't want a fight happening," she informed him and then leaned back against the wall, staring at the ceiling for a moment before she just closed her eyes. It had only been the beginning of class when they'd been asked to sit in the hall, so she expected they were gonna be here a while.

Kalem sighed and nodded his head. "I understand - I see your point. Just don't think of me as inferior to your boyfriend." There was a slight inflection in the word "boyfriend" but he couldn't hide it for now - and he doubted she would say anything again. She had called him out quite a few times.

Tobi made a noncommittal noise and fell silent for a while. There really wasn't anything to do while sitting out in the hall, and she eventually just started counting the bricks that made up the opposite wall. After a minute or so, she heard footsteps, and looked over in time to see someone she hadn't expected: Caden. He had a hall pass, so she guessed he was going somewhere, or had been until he altered his course towards where she and Kalem sat. "Hey. Going to the library?"
