Diamonds and Wrenches

Logan woke up and took a shower, getting dressed before he left home to go to work. When he got there, he immediately got to work, his mind on other things today. He kept thinking about Cadence and her artwork and how he wished that she believed in herself more.

Cadence painted for a bit, then met her friends for lunch. She found herself thinking about Logan again and how she wanted to see him. Cadence finished her food, realizing the only way she could see him is if she went to his work. She pulled into his shop and one of the guys told her he had left for the day. Cadence got his address and drove to his house. She walked up to his door and knocked.

Logan sighed and got off the couch, walking to the front door. He unlocked it and pulled it open, surprised to see Cadence standing there. He groaned when Max began to bark and he quickly stepped out, shutting the door behind himself. "Um, hi," he mumbled. "What are you doing here?"

Cadence bit her bottom lip lightly when he asked what she was doing there and watched as he walked out of his house. "Well you said that if i wanted to see you again that i should go to your shop. You weren't there so some guy sent me here." She said. Cadence suddenly realized how much of an idiot and crazy she sound. "Nevermind....I should go." She said. She turned and started to walk off his porch. She was so stupid for even considering asking him to go out or something. Why did she want to see him more anyway? He was a nobody and yet she wanted him.

Logan's eyes widened and he walked after her, grabbing her hand. "Wait," he mumbled. "I don't mind that you're here, really. I guess I'm just . . . shocked to see you at my front door? No matter, come inside." He pulled her to his front door and pushed it open, pulling her inside. "That's Max. Don't mind him."

Cadence looked at him when he grabbed her hand. She walked inside with him and looked at the dog when he said his name. She bit her bottom lip lightly, "You know if i'm bothering you i can leave." She said. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable or anything. "Plus i'm pretty sure i just made a complete ass of myself so if you wanna send me home that's fine." She said. Why was she rambling? She was really starting to hate herself. Usually she was calm and collect, but this guy made her flustered.

Logan shook his head. "No, it's fine," he murmured. "I want you here." He smiled at her. "Make yourself at home." He sat back down on the couch and sighed contently. "So, why were you looking for me? What do you need? Can I help you with something?"

Cadence watched as he sat down then sat down next to him. His house was a lot smaller than anything she had ever been in. The whole thing could fit in the room she had as a kid. Cadence looked at him, "No i don't need your help with anything." She said. She looked down at her hands for a second then looked back at him, "I just wanted to...see you." She said. Cadence realized how dumb all of this sounded. She actually felt like she was making herself sound desperate.

Logan smiled and nodded his head. He noticed she had a bit of paint on her hand and he looked up at her, grinning. "Have you been painting?" he murmured. He hoped she had listened to him and finally decided to do something with her artwork or send it in somewhere. Maybe she could get into a nice school, even.

Cadence looked down at her hand, "Um..yea just this morning." She said. She looked back at him and was surprised he noticed something so small. Nobody ever paid much attention to her. Even when she was dating her ex. Cadence bit her bottom lip lightly and ran her fingers through her hair. She really didn't know what to say.

"So how was the party after I left?" Logan asked with a chuckle, a smirk forming on his face. "I'm sure it was boring. Anything's boring unless I'm there," he teased. He leaned over and poked her arm. He noticed how tense she was and sighed softly. "You need to loosen up, Cadence. You're so uptight. You need to have some fun."

Cadence looked at him, "Those parties are always boring." She said. She watched him for a moment, "I do have fun." she said. Just not as often as she would have liked to. Cadence ran her fingers through her hair, "Besides maybe you have too much fun." She teased. She smiled a little and looked at him.

Logan raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "How can you have too much fun?" he asked curiously. "I think you need to have more fun." He stood up and grabbed her hands, pulling her up. He turned the TV off and turned on his stereo, grabbing her hands and starting to dance with her.

Cadence took his hands and smiled as she danced with him. "You dance too?" She asked. "Well aren't you full of surprises." She said. Cadence was kind of glad that she decided to come see Logan. It was more fun than she would have had if she went to that country club with her friends.

Logan grinned and nodded his head. He lifted her up into his arms and spun her around, setting her back down and looking down at her, biting his lip. "I think you need to break out of your shell," he said. "All your life, you've had walls built up around you, you've had people telling you who to be and how to act. You're a grown woman now, it's time to show people who you really are."

Cadence smiled when he lifted her up, then looked up at him as he spoke to her. Nobody ever told her these things and she liked to hear them. Cadence placed her hands on Logan's cheeks and kissed him deeply. She pulled away, "I'm sorry." She whispered as she stepped back from him. She knew that was kind of crossing the line.

Logan stared at her, licking over his lips. "No," he mumbled, shaking his head. He stepped closer to her and leaned down, kissing her lips again. "I didn't mind." He smiled and bit his lip. "I actually really liked it." He bit his lip and blushed slightly, smiling at her.

Cadence kissed him back when he kissed her. She placed her hands on his cheeks and kissed him again. She closed her eyes as she got lost in the feeling of his lips against hers, her tongue tracing his bottom lip lightly.

Logan placed his hands on her hips, parting his lips for her and letting his tongue slip out, letting out a soft moan when their tongues met for the first time. He hadn't had a girlfriend since his senior year of high school. It hadn't really been that long ago, but it still felt like ages to him.
