The Things We Say

'Charlie smiled and giggled as he kissed her nose. "Me too." she said and played with his fingers. Charlie watched him carefully. She was nervous about tonight. She was asking him to move in so it was different but she was ready and she wanted him to at least be thinking about it.'

"Oh well that's interesting." Austin said and smiled. The spaghetti was really good. He wondered if they could get a hold on the same strand. Austin smiled. "I think France would be a wonderful place to go." he said and smiled. "So much art there."

Tommy smiled over at her as she played with his fingers and he studied her. She seemed slightly nervous. "Baby?" He asked. "Why do you seem so nervous like this?" He knew it wouldn't be anything bad. They were in love... It wasn't like they were ever going to fall out of love.

Emma giggled and nodded her head. "Yes," she agreed. "Art..." she said, since that wasn't what she had been thinking about. "Art... Romance... Architecture. I hear it's absolutely beautiful there.

Charlie blushed and giggled kissing his hand again. "I was gonna wait till later." she said and looked at him biting her bottom lip. "You know I love you right Tommy?" she asked. Charlie hoped this went well otherwise the rest of the night might be weird.'

Austin smiled and shrugged. "Yeah sure." he said. That was his weakness was art and if she hadn't connected the dots yet it was photography. He had a passion for it.

Tommy raised an eyebrow in confusion up at her and he nodded his head. "Of course I know you love me - and I love you equally as much... If not more. What is this that you're trying to say, my love?"

Emma smiled and giggled. "What - not much of the romance type?" She asked teasingly. "That's okay, I don't expect much anyways. You're more of an artsy guy. I like that."

'Charlie smiled. "Well I'm not trying to say anything but really ask something..." she chewed on her lip and shifted in her seat leaning forward. "I know guys usually take control of this stuff but I feel I'm ready and there is no harm in asking right?" she asked and the sighed and bit her lip again. "Would you like to move in together?" Charlie finally got it out.'

Austin raised an eyebrow and shrugged. He hadn't expected that question to backfire on him so badly. Usually the girl would as the same question back and he would say Costa Rica or Jamaka or something like that.

Tommy was nervous as she seemed to grow nervous. When she was nervous, he wanted to comfort her - but he was always afraid of what was making her nervous. In this case... It had to do with him and he hoped she didn't want some time apart or something. That seemed illogical in his mind, but he still worried. When she asked it, he was awestruck. He had been thinking of it for a while, but he didn't want to rush her. "Baby, of course I do!" He said softly, grabbing her hands and pulling her forward so that their lips touched. "I love you - and I want to live with you."

Emma smiled. She knew she caught him off guard - and she liked it. She had intentionally not asked where he wanted for a moment to see what he would say...mostly about the France thing. She liked being in control of the situation. "Fine - where would you like to travel to?" She finally gave in.

'Charlie grinned when he said he did. She kissed him back almost wanting to leap over the table and just hug him and kiss him until her arms grew tired. "Oh my gosh I was so scared you weren't ready and that the night would be all weird but you do." she giggled. Charlie knew what she wanted and she went for it.'
A lot had changed since they broke up. She went back to her old apartment and now she didn't know what she wanted. All she wanted was Tommy and he didn't want her anymore.

Austin shifted in his seat a little uncomfortable with this situation unsure of why. "Jamaica." he said and shrugged. "I think the music is groovy." Austin said and smiled softly.

Tommy smiled. "Of course I'm ready to be with you like that! We spend so many nights together anyways... It's like we've always been living together - but I would be more than honored to live with you. You can move into my apartment. It will have good room for both of us!" He nuzzled against her with a smile.
Now his apartment seemed empty. She wasn't there and it seemed she had dragged all of the life out of him. It didn't feel fair. He loved her still... So much.

Emma smiled as she noticed how uncomfortable he was. "Jamaica's cool too!" She said with a smile. "That sounds like that would be an awesome trip."

Charlie sat on her couch after work and sighed. She really hated this and wished she could call him up again. Charlie got up deciding she should go out with her friends. She called her best friend who had left nearly a hundred messages while she had been gone.

Austin nodded gently and smiled. "So how to you like the food?" he asked realizing she thought she could change him. Oh no she was one of those. Austin would show her. He would win this one but he knew tonight would not be that night.

Tommy wondered what he was doing. He wondered what she was up to - if she was seeing anybody. He didn't see her anymore and that really bothered him. He wanted more time with her... He wished he could take all of those precious moments back and replay them.

Emma smiled at him and blushed with an innocence. "It's great!" She said with a wink. She knew he was catching on to her game, but this was one that she wasn't letting him win. Not at all.

Charlie smiled as her best friend pulled up and she slipped into her car. "Hey." she said and leaned in and kissed her cheek. Her friend hugged her. "I miss you." she said.

Austin smiled softly and nodded. "Good." he said and smiled. "You gonna have room for some chocolate afterwards?" he asked knowing he wasn't getting dessert here.

Tommy didnt know what to do - so he hatched a plan to talk to her friend... Even if just for a moment. He wanted to know if Charlie had moved on or if she was still living in this depression too... But he got a call from Miranda and had to put it all aside for a little. Then he would have to just find out later... After a dinner with Miranda.

Emma smiled over at him and then shrugged, wrapping her one finger in hair as she twirled it. "Maybe - I don't usually go for dessert at restaurants." Or anywhere else for that matter. But he could figure that out on his own.

Charlie laughed thought it was forced it was a laugh as she meet up with her friends at cloud 7 night club. Charlie smiled and they started to dance having a good time together.

Austin chuckled. "Who said I was gonna have desert here?" he asked and smiled. Austin shook his head and leaned in. "You assume to much." he said and pushed a meatball over to her side of the plate and smirked.

Tommy sighed as he for ready. Miranda wanted to dance - and all that shit... All he wanted was to wallow in his own self pity - but he would do this for her. All he knew was that he needed to try to move on... To try.

Emma blushed slightly and shrugged. "I'm sorry - I guess I'm not sure what you're referring to to begin with then." She teased. She took the meatball and took a bite out of it.

Charlie panted as she came off the floor with Tammy and giggled. She leaned over the bar smiling at a very handsome bartender. "Can I get an apple martini?" she yelled over the music. He smiled and nodded.

Austin smirked. "You'll see." he said feeling back in control in his mystery. After dinner Austin paid and then stood offering a hand to her to help her up.

Tommy took Miranda out to a nice restaurant. Like Charlie before, she was starting the whole moving in together thing - but this time, he wasn't ready... He would never be ready. Unless it was with Charlie, he didn't want it. He still slept with the outside light on, hoping she might just stumble back home someday....

Emma giggled and rolled her eyes. "You're very mysterious, Austin!" She teased and then took his hand lightly, giggling to herself. He was in for a treat. He wasn't getting what he wanted.

Charlie smiled as the bartended slipped her the drink and his number. He winked and then went to help someone else as she talked to her friend. "So you gonna call him?" she asked and Destry looked back. He was handsome was probably a nice guy but he wasn't Tommy. She shook her head Tammy frowned and put an arm around her. They drank until they where drunk and stumbled around till the wee hours of the morning.

Austin smiled and lead her out. Instead of going toward the car though he started down toward the boardwalk on the lake. He wrapped an arm around her walking next to the rail under the lights. He smiled down at her. "Mmm this has been nice." he said. He had more in store but just hadn't told her that yet.

Tommy sighed and kissed her as they sat in the car after fighting, sitting outside of her house, over moving in together. "It's just too soon, love!" He insisted. "I'm just not ready for that change... No it doesn't have anything to do with you - I just need to get some things in order first..."

Emma smiled as they walked out and she was slightly confused when they didn't go towards the car. "This is lovely out here..." She said while they were at the boardwalk. "It has been very nice - I've had a really good time with you, Austin!"

Charlie frowned as she got home Tammy stumbling into the bed with her. Charlie looked on the verge of tears again. She had started crying for the last half an hour on and off. Tammy laid with her and stroked her hair. "I don't understand!" she sobbed turning into Tammy. Tammy frowned taking her phone and hiding it in her purse not wanting her to drunkenly call Tommy.

Austin smiled. He could hear the music now. As they walked they came up to a little band playing under an old tree. Austin smiled and took her hand. "Dance with me?" Austin asked and smiled at her.

Tommy sighed slightly as he pulled Miranda into a kiss. "I care about you... A lot. I'm just not ready." She still wasn't happy - but neither was he. He wanted nothing more than Charlie - and nothing less than her either (which is more what he found). He would never be ready, he knew in his heart.

Emma giggled at the little, romantic band that was playing. She wondered if he had planned for this and she curtsied to him. "Id love to dance!" She giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck.
