Sparks of Revolution and Love

Peeta hoped that they would at least get along. There was nothing for them to hate each other from and he just wasn't going to allow it. He had had to work so hard to get Katniss to see his feelings besides - and he didn't need her questioning them now either.

Arissa smiled as she looked up at the sky and then she blushed by the sudden way he asked her name. "I'm Arissa..." She said softly, feeling like she was betraying herself by becoming on a first name basis with him. What the hell.,. "It's nice to meet you Gale."

Melope took down to soldiers before moving further into the camp. The goal was to get a map that showed their next movement. She missed a noise and suddenly she felt a burning pain in her side. Looking down, she watched the blood pour color her shirt. Turning, she took out the guard before grabbing the map. People were rushing her and it took her a long time to get back to the tunnel without being followed. Upon getting there, she saw Katniss had already left. She groaned and continued to move toward their camp again.

Gale looked at her and smiled gently. "Arises," he reappeared to himself before glancing at her. "Nice to meet you too." He said honestly ybefore looking out over the land. "See over there?" He asked as he pouted to a bright spot on the horizon. That is the Capitol." He said before tuning an pointing toward a dark line over the horizon. "Those are all of the districts besides district 2 which we are currently in and District 1 which we are trying to get through." He exaplained.

Peeta had smiled when he saw Katniss come back and he leaned in and kissed her forehead softly. He was surprised though - and almost held off asking where Melope was. "Katniss, where's Melope?" He asked. Even if she got mad, they were supposed to be partners... Shouldn't they have returned at the same time? He didn't like the silence.

Arissa smiled at her name on his lips and she nodded her head, smiling lightly. It was just an act of kindness - and nothing more. It wasn't like she would fall for someone that was a rebel - or from district 12! District one... She held back a sigh. Her home... She wondered what would become of it. "And what do you intend on accomplishing from that?" She asked spitefully.

Melope staggered and soon she found herself at the meeting point. She saw Katniss there already and she ignored her as she handed off the map. Staggering, she leaned heavily against the wall and panted slightly at the pain on her side before she pushed herself up from the way. She waved off medical attention as she tried to walk away.

Gale looked at her for a moment and sighed softly. "You know I never wanted war against the other districts and I never waned to cause this much destruction. I just wanted my brothers and sisters not to have to worry about where their next meal is coming or put their name in extra times for the hunger games." he explained as he looked out into the horizon.

Peeta noticed that something was wrong with Melope - and he also noticed that she had denied medical help. Of course, she was stubborn. Still, he ignored a glare from Katniss and walked over to her. "Melope, what happened? Are you okay?" She shouldn't have to pretend she was okay when she wasn't.

Arissa smiled softly as she listened to him. Put in names extra times? She had never heard of that before... Then again - it was never necessary... There was already someone to volunteer every year, so it didn't matter so much. "Why did they put their names in extra times?" She asked softly. It didn't make sense to her.

Melope glanced up at Peeta with glassy eyes and shook her head. She didn't want to say that if his girlfriend had paid attention to the plan none of this would have happened. "I'm fine," she whispered out before she stumbled and fell on the floor. Her breath came out in harsh gasps as she tried to control herself better.

Gale glanced at her for a moment before looking up at the sky. "You're name gets put into the drawing bowl more times then others and in exchange you get an extra ration of food. One extra ration." he said as he ran his fingers through his hair. "It sucks." he said honestly before looking at her. "Guess you never had that problem?" he asked thougthfully.

Peeta frowned a little as she wouldn't answer him and he rolled his eyes. So stubborn... Always. "Melope!" He frowned as she fell down and he picked her up, ignoring the glare from Katniss. "She needs to get to the hospital!" He said softly, shaking his head from her and he walked quickly down the hall, seeing the blood then.

Arissa was a little surprised by that. That was so sad... She hadn't known anyone had to act like that and that was sad all by itself. "No... Not exactly...." She said softly and then sighed. "I'm sorry about that. I didn't know anyone was like that..."

Melope felt someone pick her up and she winced slightly before snuggling closer to the warmth. She felt so cold she thought before she allowed herself to dip into the darkness that was surrounding her completely. It was nice to finally be a little let go, she thought.

Gale looked at her and nodded. "Yeah, it is." he said with a frown as he ran his fingers through his hair. "My name was in sixty three times. My little brother was in thirty. We wouldn't let my little sister do it so I put my name in extra times when the time came." he said as a matter of fact as he looked out. He glanced at her for a moment.

Peeta rushed her to the hospital there and then took a seat by her as they started to get things ready for her. "What did you get yourself into, Melope?" He asked her softly, almost scoldingly, as he watched her lay there, so still... Hell, he had just met her. It was unfair of her to leave him like that.

Arissa bit her lip as she listened to his words. That was so sad... Things like that actually happened? She shook her head and pulled her legs up to his chest, wrapping her arms around her legs and resting her head on his knees. "I'm sorry... That must've been really terrible." She said with a blush.

Melope groaned softly as her eyes fluttered open. She winced at the soreness in her side and she touched it. Feeling a bandage, she sighed softly. Trying to push herself up, she looked around and was surprised to see Peeta there. "Peeta?" she asked tentatively wondering if she was hallucinating or something like that.

Gale looked at her and shook his head. "Don't be sorry, it wasn't your fault." he said honestly as he looked around. "Have you ever wondered what things would be like if there were no Districts?" he asked curiously as he watched her. "I mean like, if things were different, in theory, you and I could have been friends."

Peeta smiled as she woke up and he stood up, looking over her slightly. "Nice to see you awake Melope," he said with a sideways smile and sat back down. "You were hurt pretty badly.. How did that happen?" He asked. He wouldn't admit it - but he was nervous he would never get to see her beautiful eyes. He was dreading it while that bandaged her...

Arissa smiled at him and then shook her head at his reasoning. "Could've been - except that we live very far away from each other." She teased. "I've never really thought about it... It just seems normal to have the districts. How would we work otherwise?"

Melope looked at him and shook her head. "It was my fault. I should have heard the guy but I guess...I figured since he was on Katniss's side she would get him but she didn't and he got me." she said as she touched the bandage. "How bad is it?" she asked as she looked up at him.

Gale looked at her and thought for a moment. "I like to think of it as something where there are no hunger games and everyone has an equal opportunity to do well." he said as he looked at the sky. "And if I am born in a town, I could be a farmer or a fishermen or whatever I want."

Peeta's eyes narrowed at her and he shook his head. Katniss missed or something? That wasn't Katniss... She didn't miss. "It's pretty bad - you needed some stitches - and you lost a lot of blood." He then surveyed her face and sighed. "Really - tell me the truth... What happened?"

Arissa smiled at him and nodded her head. Maybe that would be a nice life. It would be fair - and maybe things wouldn't be as strict as they were now. "And before this rebellion?" She asked softly. "What do you do in your district - or what would you do, anyways?"

Melope looked at Peeta and shook her head. "I don't know what happened." she whispered softly before looking back at the ceiling. "I don't know where Katniss was or why that guy got passed." she said honestly before glancing at him.

Gale glanced at her. "I hunted but now, I would start working in the mines." He said. "What about you? What were you doing?" he asked curiously as he watched her. Running his fingers through his hair, he sighed softly and tried to relax.

Peeta sighed a little as he heard her words and he shook his head. "What do you mean you didn't know where Katniss was?" He asked in as calm of a voice as he could manage. "Wasn't she with you the entire time?"

Arissa sighed and nodded her head. "I've learned all of the more luxury trades... Embroidery, sewing, cooking... All of that stuff. I've always just done what I was told... I don't know what I would do without it." She blushed. "Not to mention, we always had training..."

Melope shook her head. "No, I go in and Katniss watches from further away to get out people I might have missed." She explained as she glance up at him. "It isn't a big deal. I'm going to be fine."

Gale looked at her and nodded. "Were you going to volunteer?" He asked before looking away and up at the stars again. It was crazy to think that this girl might have been trying to kill him in another life.

Peeta shook his head at Melope. He didn't know how to handle this - he needed someone of something to blame for this... "You could've not come back, Melope... You could've been killed out there - that's not 'fine.'"

Arissa shrugged to his words and shook her head. "I don't know - I always thought about it!" She said with a smile on her face. "The odd part is - you don't kill anyone until you're there... Until it's real. I don't know how I would handle that."

Melope looked at him and reached out. She touched his arm gently and shook her head. "I did get back though so there is no reason to think what the if parts of the statement. I am back and that is all that matters." She sId as she looked up at him.

Gale looked at her and nodded. "Yeah? That sounds like a whole ton of fun." He said sarcastically before wincing. "Sorry," he said. "You know what I found interesting? I always thought that district 1 and 2 would fight back against us but although some hate the rebellion, none of them have raised a hand to fight it."

Peeta shook his head and crossed his arms. "Yeah - but you could've been seriously hurt. Next time you and Katniss go out together, stick together! Katniss knows what she's doing... She can protect you while you do your important missions. You can't handle it on your own."

Arissa smiled at him and rolled her eyes. "Oh Gale - don't be so sarcastic!" She teased and then laid back to look at the sky. "I could have you on the ground before you even knew I was attacking." She heard his words and then sighed. "What's the point? It's not like we can accomplish much through fighting."

Melope looked at him for the first time with anger. "Don't ever doubt my ability to complete my missions. Get out." She said as she pointed to the door. She was shaking in angry at his implication toward her. "If your precious Katniss had done what she was supposed to this wouldn't have happened." She hissed.

Gale looked at her and nodded. "I don't doubt for a second that you could kill me." He said honestly as he looked at her. "Yeah, I guess that is a good point." He said with a shrug before glancing over at her. "So why were you so mad at your dad for joining us?"
