Sparks of Revolution and Love

Peeta frowned at her. He didn't understand. He wasn't saying it meanly... He just knew if she wanted to be safe, she should let Katniss go with her and stay with her. "Melope!" He argued and shook his head. "I never said that... - what do you mean if she had done what she was supposed to?"

Arissa looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "Really? You underestimate me, Gale!" She teased and then shook her head in disapproval. Then she heard his words and hugged her legs tighter. "Because it's betrayal... He was a major part of the control in district one. I don't know how he can just jump ship like that."

Melope glared at him. "How well do you think Katniss is at hand to hand combat?" she said. "i can promise I have been doing it longer and if Katniss had taken out the scouts like she was supposed to, the scout that stabbed me would have been dead. So either the famous Katniss missed a shot or she didn't shoot."

Gale looked at her and winced slightly at her reaction to his question. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked." he said as he leaned back and looked up at the sky. "I always thought it was weird that despite the fact everyone was so different that we all look up at the same stars and the same sun..." he said before blushing and rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "Never tell anyone I said that."

Peeta narrowed his eyes at her and shook his head. "Will you quit speaking in this cryptic tone besides? Was she of was she not with you?!" He growled at her. He didn't understand what was going on. Why did she seem so mad at him? He was just making a simple statement.

Arissa chuckled at him and shook her head. "It's no big deal... I'll get over it - there isn't much for me to do about it." She blushed and then smiled at his words. "That was deep," she teased. "Are you a secret poet too?" She giggled softly and shook her head at him. It was slightly cute that he got so awkward about it now.

Melope looked at him and shook her head. "I donMt know where Katniss was but she wasn't where she was supposed to be." Melope said before laying back down in the bed. She winced slightly at the pain in her side and she took a deep breath.

Gale looked away from her and sighed. "Yeah....secret poet..." He said as he trailed off. "What can I say? I have to find someway to attract girls to me." He said before laughing softly. He glanced over at her and smiled at her. "So what is your secret talent?"

Peeta sighed and shook his head. "Well then don't go blaming me for that - you need someone who is going to stay with you when you go out or else this is what happens! I was just saying that!" He said softly, shaking his head. He would have to tell Katniss that she needed to try harder... It was only right. He took a seat down with her again.

Arissa rolled her eyes when he repeated her and then she giggled. "Oh - is that what you're trying to do?" She asked teasingly. "Attract me!" There was a laugh there and she shook her head. That would never happen. They were too different. "Hmmm..." She said softly. "I don't know - I've never had time to explore my options or anything..."

Melope relaxed and she glanced at Peeta. "I'm sorry I reacted the way I did." She said softly as she turned slightly to stare up at the ceiling. "I guess, I figured most people would defend Katniss and blame me for what happened." She said as she brought one hand up and brushed it against her side and winced slightly.

Gale looked at her and chuckled. "Yeah, my whole goal in life is to attract a District 1 girl." He said sarcastically. "We are too different. I am willing to die for the rebellion while you don't even want to join it." He said before looking at meeting her eyes. "I'm District 12 and you are District 1, those might as well be on opposite planets."

Peeta sighed and shook his head. He shrugged. He was feeling slightly confused at all of this. Should he be on her side? Or Katniss's? He wasn't sure... "Why wasn't she with you?" He asked softly. "It's not safe if you're going out there alone like that." He didn't want to say the wrong thing and mess up again.

Arissa smiled and nodded her head. "Yup - complete opposites!" She giggled and then sighed contentedly. "I don't understand... We're all human, but so different. And you can't blame me for being against the rebellion... This life is all I've known ever - and I don't know what else we will do like this. What does it accomplish?"

Melope looked at him. "I did had someone out there with me but the point of this types of missions is one person goes in while the other takes out guards." She said before wincing slightly. Pulling back the sheets, she saw her bandage was stained red again. "Um....a little help?" She asked softly as she looked at him.

Gale looked at her for a moment before shaking his head. "I don't blame you for not joining the rebellion," he said. "Hopefully the rebellion will lead to some sort of equality." He said as he leaned back against the wall. "There is so much hate and violence now but I hope it all leads to a peaceful world with equality and not one led by a Capitol or something like that."

Peeta sighed a little and shook his head. "Well I don't like that idea!" He groaned. "We shouldn't be sending some of our people out alone. It's obvious someone slipped through Katniss's guard and it's not good." He sighed and then nodded. "You okay?" He asked softly as he started to redress the wound. "This doesn't look good."

Arissa sighed and nodded her head. "I just hate it. I used to know my place... And now I know nothing!" She sighed and shook her head. "What is fighting going to do? It may end the hunger games, but will it save us from any more violence? I doubt so..." She said softly

Melope winced as he redressed the wound. "I'm fine." She said softly. She began to sweat slightly as she clenched her eyes against the pain. Guess the painkillers are one, she thought as she laid down in the bed and tried to breath through the pain. "I'm fine." She managed to repeat through clenched teeth.

Gale glanced at her and frowned. "I don't know if this will stop the violence or honestly, I have no idea what it will bring but we need to try because...otherwise...." He said before he trailed off. "We were all going to die." He said as he closed his eyes and leaned his hea back against the wall.

Peeta shook his head as she clenched her teeth and he knew she wasn't okay. He frowned and shook his head. "I'll get the nurse... We should really get you some more painkillers... We don't want you in pain like this, do we?" He asked. He felt slightly responsible for her... He didn't know why, but he just did.

Arissa glanced over at him to his words and she nodded her head, knowing this was all a tricky subject. "Well..." She said softly, shaking her head. "I wish there were better ways to do it..." She said. "But I'm also not stupid. I know it's been harder than i could imagine in other districts... I'm sorry."

Melope looked at him and shook her head. "No, there are other people who need it more than I do." She said softly to him. "I'll live without it." She ran her finger through her hair before looking up at the ceiling. "Why are you here?" She asked before glancing over at him.

Gale looked at her for a moment. "I'm sorry too." He said honestly. "You don't have it great now either and I'm sorry we are the cause of that." HE said before he sighed and ran his fingers he ouch his hair. "I guess this is life and life is messy right?" He said.

Peeta sighed softly as he heard her words and he shook his head. "But... You should really take some. You need it!" He rolled his eyes at her stubbornness and then shook his head. "Because I thought you would want someone here... I was the one who brought you here. I thought it would be good to have you here."

Arissa sighed and shook her head. "It's no big deal..." She said softly and shook his head, though she wished it wasn't that way. "I understand it... We're the privileged ones... We shouldn't be the ones who are keeping you from the things that you have. So yes, life is messy..."

Melope looked at him and shook her head. "I'm fine," she said softly as she smiled gently at him. "I'll live." she said as she bit her lip and tried to relax. Taking a deep breath, she relaxed her muscles one by one before glancing at him again. "You can go. I mean you don't have to stay with me." she said softly.

Gale looked at her and shook his head. "You aren't the one that was keeping us from stuff. It wasn't your fault. You didn't know what was happening. The Capitol did know what was happening and they let it." he said. His bitterness slipped out in his tone before he sighed. "You did nothing wrong and I'm sorry you got dragged into this."

Peeta sighed and shook his head. He wanted to care for her. He felt responsible and he felt like he should do something for her. It was all just a mess it seemed. When she said he could leave, he stood and then he shook his head, deciding to sit back down. "No - I want to stay..." He said softly, shaking his head

Arissa managed a smile over at him and she shook her head. "No, don't be sorry." She said softly and shrugged. "Maybe it's for the better... Maybe we can make a better life through all of this - for all of us!" She said softly, trying to sound optimistic. "I see you're bitter about it... And I understand."

Melope looked at him for a moment before nodding. "Thank you," she said softly before laying back. "So how long have you and Katniss been a thing?" she knew she shouldn't ask, it was non of her business but she was curious about the whole thing.

Gale looked at her for a moment and nodded. "Yeah, the hope is that everyone gets a new life out of all of this madness." he said as he ran his fingers through his hair. "Yeah, I need to work on the whole bitterness thing." he said thoughtfully.

Peeta smiled at her and nodded his head as he relaxed back into the chair. He felt responsible - so he wanted to stay. "Did you not watch the hunger games?" He teased lightly. That wasn't true though... It had taken some development from there. Now she clung to him though. She finally understood.

Arissa smiled at him and nodded her head. "I hope you districts won't take out your anger of your plights on us in district one... I hope we can all forgive." She blushed and then looked over at him. "It's alright - it will go away... Once we've settled this war." She had included herself in it suddenly... Why not fight for it?

Melope shook her head. "No, I didn't want to watch." she said honestly. "I didn't want to see you die." she said honestly before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. Glancing over at him, she smiled. "I'm glad that everything worked out for you two."

Gale looked at her and sighed softly. "I wish I could say that everyone in the Districts will be good to each other but I do not know if that will be the case and I have no control over what will happen." he said as honestly as he could. "I"m just a soldier."

Peeta heard something so serious in her voice and his eyebrows wrinkled together in slight confusion, but he just sighed. "Wow - did anyone have faith that I could possibly win?" He teased and then nodded his head. "Well, thank you. I'm glad too."

Arissa sighed over at him and shook her head. She didn't like those words. What was the point of revolutionizing to only deal with more inequalities? They should be all equal if they won this battle. "Really?" She asked in amazement. "You seem like so much more! Like a leader..."

Melope glanced at him. "I thought you had a chance of winning but the odds weren't in your favor." She said before smirking slightly. Looking back up at the ceiling, she sighed softly. "Yeah...." She said before trailing off. She had always wondered what might have happened with them if he hadn't gone to the hunger games. Probably nothing. Until the rebellion, she had been nothing.

Gale looked at her for a moment and smiled softly. "I am a leader of a very small part of a very big thing." He said honestly. "And I am only that because I grew up with Katniss Everdeen." He said as he ran his fingers through his hair before looking back at her. "The rebellion was an abstract idea by the leaders. It is the soldiers who make that idea concrete. That's why I want to be a soldier."
