I wouldn't think they'd outcast them. Like the ones who have the magic are a part of the coven but the ones who don't aren't, and the magical children have to be raised by their parent but also a magical adult from the coven if their parent isn't so that they know what they need to. It would be a sort of exclusion when it comes to magical problems, I'd think, but I don't think they're focus on all magical problems 24/7, y'know?

Yeah, that'd work. Some of them don't let themselves die because they want to make sure their coven has secure generations before letting go, and maybe some of them just have trouble letting go altogether because of how long they've been alive, y'know?

Maybe they'd have to stay away from the non-magical family members for their safety, because since they're one of the oldest/powerful covens they could be targeted a lot. Unless, that's too similar to Charmed? XD

Or the humans could be the ones to help the magical members of the family stay away from getting caught by other humans. So like the non-magic family would be the ones getting money from regular jobs and helping with the menial tasks and in return, they would be protected by the magic members or something like that.

I like that idea! So they help each other out with the things that they can do that the others can't, which effectively makes them a strong family unit (in a way? even though there's a clear separation between the magical and non magical unit).

yup! and that way if anyone were to be attacked by the enemies, it would make the death that much more tragic for everyone in the family. Especially if it were a human, because maybe the witches would believe that they had no right to go after someone who didn't have the power to protect themselves.

What if the person they believe the other coven killed were a normal human, instead of a witch? It'd make the death that much more tragic to them.

I kind of feel that it needs to be a witch that was killed because if the demon killed the witch it could make it seem like the warlocks were waging war on them in order to steal their power and be the best coven around. That's only if that work? If not, then a human is fine to have been killed to me.

Yeah, I think that's what I was trying to get at XD

    @ castiel's vessel
Does it have to be necessarily one death? Maybe it could be a house with a small family from the coven of both magic and non-magic wielders a slaughtered. Either way, both ideas sound good to me.

So what, there'd be a houseful of deaths from both covens? Because if that happened I couldn't see tham working together before discovering the truth because of the extremity of the act and how severely it would have impacted the older coven members.

Maybe we could just have them on good terms before it happened, instead of them actually working together.

they could have different houses targeted, or something. I'm not really sure but I can see where you're coming from about the older coven members, who would probably also have the most power and their word might be 'law' if the coven gives power to predecessors first.

    @ paper sirens.
either way could work, to be honest. I think both are good.

So.. since the witches don't really age, their human family would have to get stuff for them, because that would be way too suspicious. Unless they go out looking like their old selves, or possibly change their appearance. THEY HAVE MAGIC, they can do things. Shifty

Alright, so... which one are we gonna go with?
A house with some of the witches family being killed, or witch from the coven?

The human family getting stuff for them works but like you said, they have magic so therefore could put a glamour on themselves if they go out

And I think it should be a witch from the coven.

I think it should be some of their family members, both magical and nonmagical. I'll fine with going for just one witch from their coven though.

Which do you prefer? The house with some of the witches family being killed or a witch from the coven?

Well.. if the Warlock coven is going to be near the witches, I think it would make sense if "they" kill a witch for the whole war to start between them. I kind of thought they'd be living 'out of town' because of their magic and stuff.
