Hunting for a Mate

Sam shook his head. He was a little surprised to see that he wasn't as irritated as he would have assume, instead he was slightly amused, "So all I have to do is ask?" He said, brow raised, "And you'll tell me, just like that?" He stopped their forward motion, taking her hand in his, "Alright, Little Mate, what is your name?"

Lucy had to look like she was at least trying to make them work so at this point she could no longer could mess with him when it came to her name. "My name is Lucy." She told him softly. Then she gave him a soft smile. "See that was not that difficult was it?"

Sam grinned, "I suppose not... though you could have just told me." He resumed with walk, still holding onto her hand, "So, Lucy, which shop would you like to visit first? You know this area better than I do." they were just reaching the town when he asked, his gaze narrowing a little as he scouted for any potential threats.

Lucy noticed his eyes narrowing. She bumped him with her hip gently. "Calm down. The people are nice here and I have never had any problems." Lucy told him before going deeper into the town. First she looked around before nodding to a place that sold cheeseburgers and shakes. 'Want to get some food?" She asked him. At the moment she was rather hungry so she didn't know why he wouldn't be.

Sam gave her a small smile, walking with her to the place she pointed out, "Sure. We both missed out on the hunt."he he'd never purchased food here, his life more wolf than human, but she seemed to trust it so he would too, "What's good here?"

"I always get the cheeseburger and a shake." Lucy told him as she walked inside the resturant with him. Once she headed inside, the owner came over, smiling down at Lucy brightly. "Oh welcome back Lucy!" He said before leading the two of them to the booth in the back. "Who is your friend?"
Lucy smiled up at the man. "Hello Mark! This is Sam." The owner got them into the booth, setting menus down in front of them both.
"Nice to meet you Sam." The man said with smiling eyes.

Sam grinned at the dinner owner, "It's great to meet you too. Lucy was just telling me how awesome your cheesburgers and shakes are."he said softly, not really knowing the proper communication when it came to being polite with humans...

Lucy was smiling brightly, obviously amused by what was going on between the two. She hadn't thought about it when she came in but this was going to be very funny for her. The thing was that Mark was gay and it was rather clear that he had a thing for Sam. Slight instinctual jealousy went though her. However it didn't bother her too much since she was rather sure that Sam would not be interested.
"I'll bring over two shakes for you two then." Mark said as he slipped a hand into Sam's hair for a moment. He then headed off to the kitchen.

Sam's body tensed as he felt the stranger's hand in his hair. His eyes narrowed at the guy as he walked away. He didn't like touching, didn't like contact, Lucy aside, and so he was unsure. was this normal human behavior?" He turned to Lucy, "Uh... so which is your favorite shake? I know what they are but I've never had one..."

Lucy had to stop herself from laughing at the two. This was going to be a very interesting lunch, especially if Sam did catch onto what was going on. Mark was actually the reason why the wolves at her old pack refused to come to this resturant. It wasn't like Mark was a flirt with all guys. With a lot of his customers he acted professional. Though for some reason he was really attracted to werewolves without knowing it. Lucy laid her head into her hand before leaning over the table a little. She opened up the menu, pointing to the picture of the chocolate shake. "I love the chocolate shakes here. Trust me you will too."

"Hmm," Sam was a little weary of chocolate. It wasn't something he'd grown up with and hadn't really been interested in trying, but he'd give the shake a shot, "Alright. So I'll try one of those..." He leaned closer across the table to her, trying to read the menu, "And which burger do you prefer?" He asked softly, setting what had happened with the owner out of his mind.

Lucy turned the menu so he could read it better. She glanced down at it for a moment before pointing to the regular cheeseburger. "I like this one. Though there are others, ones with more meat in it." All she wanted was a plain cheeseburger. Though she knew the guys at her old pack like the bacon cheeseburger and the double ones and such.
Mark then came back with the two shakes, setting them down in front of them both. Lucy thanked him as she brought it to her, taking a sip from it. He got her order before turning to Sam. "And what would you like sexy?" Lucy cracked a smile but held it in.

Sam sat back in his chair, brow lifting as he met the owner's gaze. Then he grinned, slowly. Growing up he'd had a friend who was interested in the male gender over the female gender. With Jim he would have just flirted, but he didn't know if this guy would take it as flirting or not... and that was when he noticed Lucy's smile. She was enjoying this. So he decided to just play along with the owner, "Well, I'd like to order the cheeseburger." He said, smile softening towards the owner, "Unless you think there's something better?"

"Oh there is always something better." He said with a wink before walking off. Mark went back to the kitchen to put their orders in.
Lucy couldn't help but let out a slight laugh when Mark walked away. Though she closed her mouth tightly, trying to keep it in. It seemed like Sam had figured it out. Though she had to admit it was rather amusing when it was just confused. "I think he likes you." Lucy told him with a small smirk before she drew her shake closer.

Sam grinned at her, shrugging, "Well, I'm a likable guy," he took a sip of his shake, hesitant at first, but his eyes quickly widened, "Well, I guess it's a good thing I trusted you, because this is delicious." He took another sip, "Is this what chocolate always tastes like?" He asked, gaze lifting to hers, "Because this is amazing."

"This is what a chocolate shake always tastes like." Lucy told him as she looked down at her own. She ran her finger around the rim of it before taking another sip. "A chocolate bar tastes a bit different but it is still so good." First she let out a hum before softly laughing. "Oh please tell me you will let Mark down easy. He has already gotten rejected by most of the boys in my old pack. I mean they were nice guys and usually were pretty good about this kind of thing. Though Mark is a little too handsy sometimes so I think they were a little harsh." As if to prove her point, Mark came over set two waters down in front of them. He gave Lucy her straw. Though with Sam, he laid a hand on his shoulder, slipped it down a bit before giving him the straw before walking off.

Sam listened to her, sitting back and giving Mark a small smile. He was silent until Mark left, nodding to her, "I'll talk to him. Oddly enough he doesn't bother me. Though I definitely don't want it to escalate." Then he took another sit of his shake, "Why'd he bring the water?" He asked her, frowning a little, "We have the shakes... what is the water for?"

"I think he just wanted to come over here again." Lucy told him with a soft laugh. "Though some people like to drink water when eating their burger instead of the shake so." She gave him a small shrug before going back to her shake. Her eyes glanced around the resturant until she leaned back into her seat, crossing her legs as she did so. Lucy moved her hands into her lap. What to talk about now?

Sam nodded, giving her a small smile, "Lucy?" He asked softly, reaching out and putting his hand down on the table between them, "Hey, are you okay?" He asked softly, "Did I do something wrong?"

"No you didn't this time big mate. I just don't know what to say next." She murmured before bringing her hands back onto the table. Lucy stretched her fingers out before taking her shake and sipping from it again. Removing her hands from the glass, she noticed how cold that they had gotten from the drink. So she reached over, pressing her chilly hands into his warm one.
