Hunting for a Mate

@ Jaguar's Heart

Lucy glanced over at him with concern when Sam suddenly just bolted up. She glanced over at him just as he was beginning to lay down again. "Are you alright?" She asked him softly as she moved back into him, laying her head lightly on his body. She did not want to place too much of herself on him but she wanted to comfort him and stay close.

Sam sighed, trying to find a comfortable position, 'Fine. Just thought that you had been taken by the other pack for a second.,' he sent her softly, turning his head to bury his nose in her fur, 'Are you in a lot of pain?'

Lucy let out a small huff before she spoke. 'My body aches and my gashes are uncomfortable...But I will be okay.' She told him before burring her face into him a little bit more. Lucy's body began to deflate as she tried to fully relax again. Though it was difficult going from tense to untense especially when one had injuries.

Sam curled around Lucy a bit more, 'Do you need a doctor?' He asked, then a thought hit him, 'Wouldn't this technically be my third day... so I can start moving around now, right?' he teased.

Lucy gave him a small laugh, but her heart was not completely in it. 'You had to rest for three whole days. And then after that you were still barely allowed to move around. No today will be a resting day for the both of us. Actually most of the pack should be resting today.' Lucy told him as she buried her face into him. 'I Should probably tell the others to only keep watch and get food...Actually I should go hunting with them.' She said as she began to move.

Sam snapped his teeth at her, 'Lay back down. Now,' he snarled, then sighed, 'Sorry. Still a bit... messed up from yesterday. Let me put it this way... you're not getting out of my sight. I will follow you.'

Lucy tensed up a bit at Sam's sudden reaction. Though she quickly calmed back down and buries herself right into him. 'Well fine then. We should go and at least tell everyone to rest up for a bit though. Just call a small meeting to announce this as a rest day. Tell Greg to also take a long break. We should only be out a few minutes. Those with the least injuries will get food and watch the boarders. Tomorrow things should go back to normal more so.'

Sam nodded, giving her muzzle a gentle lick before standing. He limped his way through the caverns, barking at the pack as he exited outside, 'Today we're going to rest and heal. Those who can will hunt for the pack, but I want the ones injured to take the day off,' he continued to let them know what was going to happen, then nodded, 'Come find me if you need to.'

Once everything was set Lucy followed him back to their cave. She waited for him to lay down before she curled up next to him. Now that was done with Lucy was able to rest for a while. Now she felt calm, knowing that they had won the fight. But still she was curious as to what would happen next. But for now she pushed that to the side and concentrated on relaxing and her mate.

Sam limped back to their cavern, laying down on their pelts with a sigh. He curled around Lucy, burying his face in her fur, 'I don't think I'm going to be able to move without pain ever again,' he groaned out.

Lucy began to lightly lick his fur. 'I am sure that you will be completely back to normal in a week. Right now you just need to rest.' She told him as she began to lick gently behind his ears. She loved him so much. Right now she was just glad that he was still talking to her and loving her back.

Sam turned and rested his head along her front legs as she groomed him, his eyes closing, 'When you decided to drug me... you had to have known I wouldn't be happy. So why did you do it?' He just couldn't understand, 'You had to have known that I may have become stuck as wolf...'

'Stuck?' Lucy said softly as she suddenly stopped what she was doing. She then shook her head a bit. 'No I never considered that you might get stuck....' She went back to grooming him. 'I knew you would be furious. I knew that it would hurt you. But I knew if I didn't do it it was likely you would be fighting in wolf form. I didn't want you to get worse than you already were. I just wanted you to be safe.'

Sam sighed, 'Well, looks like both our plans have backfired.' he teased, nuzzling closer to her, 'And yes, stuck. My wolf is... is very protective over you. Any chance of danger and he becomes upset and aggressive.'

Lucy pressed her nose against his lightly. She knew how protective his wolf was of her. Though she never considered that he might get stuck because of it. There was always a part of her that thought that she could bring him back. No matter what happened that she would have the ability to bring him back to his human side, to the part of him that she loved too. 'We shouldn't be trying to control each other like this.'

'No, we shouldn't', Sam agreed quietly, 'So how do you suppose we fix that? Because I don't want to control you, Lucy. I want a partnership, a true mating.' He lifted his head and nuzzled her face, 'I want us to be able to go to the other with any concern and not worry that they'll have to make a hard decision.'

Lucy nuzzled back. He was right in what he was saying and she agreed with it. She wanted hem to be a whole team. There was a lot of love between them but also a lot of sneakary. "I think we just have to agree that that is how things will be. And put a really effort into having it that way."

Sam licked at her muzzle, 'Alright, but I'm going to try and keep you in the loop more often. I hate this sneaking around shit... and I hate knowing that one of us - or both - is going to get hurt because of it.'

Lucy nodded to him before she got closer, now josh f her body in his fur. She was glad that he felt this way. Now all she could do was hope that it would really work out like the way he made it sound. "I hope this all turns out the way we want it." She said before licking at him again.

Sam nodded, Me too, love. Me too.'
