Patiently Impatient

Paul watched her and frowned slightly. Sighing softly, he gently rested his hand on her ribs making sure not to press at all. He knew the heat would help sooth her skin.

Nadie heard someone call her name and she looked over her shoulder. Her eyes widened slightly when she saw Embry. Why wasn't Quil here? She thought as she began to turn away bit she stumbled and cried out in pain when she put too much weight on her ankle again.

@ What if....
Riley sighed out, feeling the heat from his hand. Her heart rapidly beating at the feeling of his touch her. She'd never imagined feeling this again, after nearly being beaten to death.

Embry rushed to Nadie's side, lightly lifting her off her feet. "You okay?" He asked moving her over to a fallen tree, making her sit. He knelt down putting himself at her level, his heart in his throat. No matter how bad this could ever get, he'd always love her.

Paul watched her and smiled gently when she seemed to still be okay. "Is this helping?" He asked gently as he watched her closely. He wanted her to be okay. He wanted her to feel better.

Nadie gasped softly when he picked her up so easily. Looking at him, she almost got lost in his eyes but she shook her head. "What is happening? Why are you here and not Quil? Why was Sam at his house?" She asked softly.

@ What if....
Riley nodeed but said nothing afriad her voice would betray her, she coudn't lead him on. She knew there was no chance for them, she would normally push his hand away, but now it felt to good on her aching body.

Embry rubbed the back of his neck, "uh, it's complaicted." He sighed out not knowing if he should tell her. "Look Quil is going through something that could be dangerous for you." He told her brushing her hair from her face. "It's only in your best interst you give him some time." He didn't want her any where near Quil, he'd kill Quil if her hurt her or even told her their sercet. "Trust me, it will be explianed to you later, just not right now." He sighed out, so much wanting to pull her into his arms, quite all her fears.

Paul looked at her for a moment and bushed his fingers over her stomach. He liked that he was helping her even if it was just for a little bit. "Have the pain pills kicked in?" He asked softly. She was so beautiful, he thought as he looked down at her laying in the couch.

Nadie looked at him and shivered at his touch. "Embry...." She whispered as her eyes flicked up to meet his. "Get away from her. She is mine," Nadie jumped when she saw Quil tearing down the street. Sam and Jacob followed him closely. She had never seen Quil look so bloodthirsty. He was shaking and she gasped in fear. "Quil?" She whispered as she looked at all of them.

@ What if....
Riley shivered away from his touch. "Yeah." She said before lightly brushing his hand away. Not wanting to deal with him at the moment. "Aw, you two are so cute." A bubbly laughed emitted into the air. Emily had emerged from the kitchen, she smiled at Paul. "You guys hungry?" She rolled her eyes as if she didn't need to ask.

"Watch your self mutt." Embry growled back, placing himself in between Quil and Nadie. Unlike Quil Embry was actually in control of his emotions. "Quil come back in side before you do something you regret." Jacob said lightly tugging on Quil's arm. "It will be short lived." Embry snapped at Jake, he knew he was just trying to help. But if anybody hurt Nadie he'd kill them.

Paul frowned when she pushed his hand away but he made no move to touch her again. "I'm starving Emile," he said greatful for the change in focus. "Do you want something Riley? I could get it for you or help you into the kitchen?" he offered as he looked at her. He just wanted to make her smile. She seemed like she needed to smile.

Nadie watched them and pushed herself up. Walking around Embry, she wondered why everyone was acting like Quil was a ticking time bomb. "Quil? What's wrong with Embry being around me?" she asked as she looked at everyone. "What is going on? Why did you call him a mutt?" she asked Embry.

@ What if....
Riley gave him a small smile. "I'm fine thanks." She said before turning her attention back to nothing, she just didn't want to be staring at him.

"I'll explain later." Embry told Nadie, he looked at her pleadingly. "Please just sit back down." He wanted to get her as far away from Quil as possible. "We'll discuss this later." He told Quil glaring him down. He then grabbed Nadie's arm and pulled her back to the tree. "I mean it, we'll talk about this later." He assured her. "Just give it some time." He told her, before moving off towards Quil. They really needed to talk, especially if he was going to date his imprint.

Paul watched her for a moment, openly staring and not caring who saw. "Okay," he said almost sadly. "But you should eat a little something. It will help you heal faster," he said before perking up. "I'll get you fruit...fruit helps healing....right?" he asked as he looked over at Emily.

Nadie watched them all, huffing that they were leaving her out of the loop. They were acting bizarre. "Embry? Why..." she began before she trailed off. Pushing herself up, she wrapped her coat closer to her body and began to walk home. "Well, you guys figure out whatever the hell is going on and you know where to find me," she said as it began to rain. She instantly missed Embry's heat and craved his presence.

@ What if....
Riley watched Emily nodded, before smile knowingly at Paul. Furrowing her brow she wondered why, though she didn't to much on it. Sighing she shifted, sitting up. She knew he wouldn't take no for an answer, so she'd eat an apple or something to shut him up. Though he was right she should eat something, since this morning she'd been in to much pain to even think of eating.

Embry glared at Quil as Nadie walked off. "You know she'd not an object." He snapped. "And I like how low your thinking of me is." He sighed, Quil and him had been best friends since children. He would never make a move on his girlfriend, no matter how much it pained him.

Paul got her various kinds of fruit before making a plate piled high for himself. Walking back out, he looked at her and smiled sheepishly. "I didn't know what you would like," he said as he gestured to the plate with the fruit and a couple of other things thrown on there hat he thought she might enjoy.

Quil looked at him and growled. "I saw the way you feel about her, what you think of her. It is disgusting. I can't believe you would do that on my girlfriend."
Nadie continued walking home. Sighing, she got inside and smiled as he little brother greeted her. Soon, she was in the kitchen, making food for them both.

@ What if....
Riley smiled at Paul taking the plate from him. He might not have known what she liked, but he managed to get all her favorites. Sighing out she pulled a peice of fruit from the place, nibbling on it.

Embry growled at Quil. "Fuck you." He snapped. "I had no control over it." He huffed out. "And at least I didn't act on it, because believe me, had I of she would have more than enjoyed it." He smirked.

Paul looked at her and felt a little proud that he had gotten her to smile. He walked over and took up his spot on the floor by her couch as he began to eat what he had piled onto his plate.

Quil watched him and began to shake. "You have no idea what she likes. I know everything about her. I know where to touch her, how to stroke her skin. I have made her scream my name. That's right. I took your fucking imprint's virginity," he said.

@ What if....
Riley furrowed her brow, she didn't understand why he was sitting at her feet. When there was other seats around the room. Ignoring her thoughts as she continued to eat, she didn't know how hungry she really was. After finishing her fill she set her plate aside. "Thank you." She told him, again.

Embry felt his blood boil, remembering what Nadie had said earlier that day. Huffing out, he tried to ignore his anger at his friend. Reminding himself that if his imprint was happy then he was too. "That's a laugh, earlier she told me she wanted a really man, somebody who could please her."

Paul smiled at her from his spot before pushing himself up. He brought both plates back to the kitchen and set them in the sink before going back out and sitting down. He wanted to be as close to her as possible and him on the floor seemed to be what she was comfortable with.

Quil growled at Embry. "Liar. She would never say that and besides, I am all she needs to be satisfied," he said. His temper rose, he was looking for a fight. "She is a dirty little slut probably could be satisfied with any guy." He wanted Embry to feel as mad as he felt.

@ What if....
Riley sighed comfrotable, finally she was able to relax and not worry about pain radiating through her body. Nibbling on her lip, she let her hand move to rake through his hair.

Embry felt his body start to shake, no warning as he phased. His body lunged at Quil, he didn't care if he didn't give the younger wolf time to phase. Tossing Quil's body into the nearest tree.

Paul bit back a groan as he felt her fingers in his hair. His eyes fluttered shut as his body leaned slightly more toward her. It was amazing what one touch could do, he thought.

Quil groaned before pushing himself up and phasing. He attacked his best friend but soon they were forced apart by one of Sam's orders. "Why don't you go rub back to her. She will always come running to me," Quil snarled.

@ What if....
Riley smiled at the sound that left him, pulling her hand from him. She knew she'd stepped a boundry, by touching him. Though she couldn't help herself, she was drawn to him.

Embry growled out. "Why don't you tell that to her." He snapped back. "I'm sure she'd love to hear what you really think of her."

Paul frowned slightly when he pulled her hand away but he knew that he had to be patient. He relaxed his shoulders before glancing over his shoulder at her. "Do you want to watch a movie or something?" He offered.

Quil growled before turning and walking back into his house. Sam and Jacob followed him. Jacob was practically shaking as well.
Nadie smiled gently at her brother as they sat at the table, eating. It was comfortable silence. Nadie mind wondered to what was going on with the boys.

Riley frowned all she'd been doing is watching movies, shaking her head she stood. Strecthing her arms above her head. It had been a while since she could bring her arms over her head. She groaned lightly as her arms protested, quickly bringing her arms down when she heard a gasp. Her eyes locked with Emily's, who had her hand over her mouth. She knew she could see the blackish blue brusies on her stomach, she'd seen it earlier but now she was actually able to make out how bad it really was. "Paul." Emily squeeked out. Riley turned only to notice Paul storm out of the house, his body shaking. Frowning her eyes followed him, losing him only once the door slammed. Her eyes widened, only for her to gasp noticing out the window a gaint wolf tear off towards the forest.

Embry never felt hate for Quil as he did now, he glared after his friend. Before he turned and took off, pay back was a bitch, he thought to him self. If Quil was going to treat Nadie that way, he wasn't going to let him have her any more. His feet only stopped moving when her door barrered him. Raising his fist he gently knocked knowing he had to really rein in his strength. Biting his lip he waited till Nadie opened the door, he opened his mouth to greet her. Only to close it quickly, moving forward he placed his lips to hers.
