(A tumor? D: That sounds painful. Ah, he’s been eating mashed potatoes and jello. My mom made him chicken spaghetti today but she had to mash it all up.)
The frown still on his features, Kaname stared blankly at Sakura, trying not to be bothered by her words, but, really, he couldn’t help it. Not only did he dislike being spoken to in such a way, but he didn’t like that she would talk to him like that with so much hatred. “Then go ahead and show your disdain. For you to say such hateful things when I’m only offering a suggestion to help you makes me wonder if I should have just gone straight to my dorm instead of coming out here to check on you,” he told her, his tone even and, though he tried to withhold any emotion that might seep through, a little pained.
Rina tilted her head to look up at him with amusement. “Actually, I don’t really care about a date. I just don’t like formal events, especially since I don’t like shopping for formal clothes alone,” she mused, “But if you’re seriously willing to take the chance at a disaster date, why would I decline? At least it’d give me a reason to actually go, right?” She tried to keep her tone light and teasing, because, honestly, she wasn’t sure if he was serious about the date thing – and, on top of that, it seemed like it would be more of a pity date than anything, by the way he put it.
