Time mumbled something entirely incoherent around the mouthful of pancakes she had in her mouth, some of which spilled back out onto her plate. She frowned at those pieces, and after once more making room in her mouth, forked them back in. Soon she was done and she sat back with a sigh. "That was good. I didn't realize I was so hungry."

"Don't you cook when you're by yourself?" Fate asked Nature. Unlike Death and Time, she could talk and eat.

Nature shook his head, "No. Not really. I'll make something quick, but nothing big. I miss making some of the more difficult meals, but there's no one to really cook for now, so I just go with something easy."

Once Death was done he set his plate aside, took some gulps of his orange juice, then sighed, "That was good..." he shook his head, "Damn, I really hope we don't see Chaos any time soon."

Fate nodded in understanding. "I used to be the same way. But before I changed things, literally no one could enter my realm without me actually taking them there so I didn't ever get visitors. I eventually just got bored and started experimenting, even though it could be a waste. I'm not going to say I'm a master chef or anything, but I do understand."

"I would suggest hiding... but I'm not really sure that would work," Time sighed. "Oh well, at least he didn't wake anyone up this morning. There is absolutely no reason to wake someone up that early in the morning and drop them off a roof."

"I hear ya," Death said to Time, "Especially since I'm still dealing with the pain."

Nature grinned at Fate, "I'm sure what you make is fine. You know, we could alway have a tiny little competition and make Death and Time judge... that being said I don't think Death would make a good judge. He'd always vote for you."

"Hey, at least you're alive. I mean, Fate was practically offering her soul to Chaos and I'm not sure he was going to listen," Time said with a shrug.

Fate laughed. "That sounds like fun. And Death wouldn't always vote for me!"

"Yes, he would," Time interjected.

"He'd vote for whatever tasted best."

Time rolled her eyes. "Death?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

Death sat stiff, still staring at Time. When he'd been handing over the building edge he hadn't realized that Fate had offered herself to Chaos... hadn't known that she'd done anything near that, until just now. When everyone turned to him he suddenly spun and glared at Fate, no longer feeling his pain, "You did what?!"

Nature blinked at Death's sudden outburst, "Uh... I don't think he heard out conversation about the food..."

Fate, who didn't listen in on other peoples' conversations unlike Time, had no idea what Death was angry with her about. So... "Uh, I honestly have no idea," she said with a frown. Considering the look Nature had, he wasn't exactly sure what was going on either. Then she turned her gaze to Time.

Time gave Fate an apologetic look. "I might have said something bad on accident..." which she seemed good at doing, actually.

Death was still glaring at Fate, "You offered yourself to him? Are you insane!" He was yelling at this point, "How could you? We don't know what he's capable of!"

As Death continued to yell at her Nature sighed, "And here I thought Death was getting nicer... what with all his thanking us for breakfast..."

Well, it was nice to know what she was being yelled at about at least... "You were going to die!" She glared back at him. She wasn't yelling, but there was still force behind her words. "He was going to drop you and if Nature hadn't intervened, you were going to die, and I couldn't just sit back and watch that happen. I couldn't make a portal either, which is about the only way I had to save you, so I told Chaos I would do anything he wanted if it would save you. And don't you dare try to tell me you wouldn't have done something similar if you were in my place."

"Once he calms down, we'll just go back to the other conversation," Time reassured Nature. Sadly, she was starting to get used to this... it seemed like Death and Fate were always either just all cuddly and gross or angry and arguing with each other. She wasn't really sure it was a healthy relationship... but whatever worked for them. She wasn't about to interrupt.

Death glared at her, "Of course I would have done the same if it had been you he'd taken. From the sounds of what I missed he tried to kill you too!" He snarled, I don't want you sacrificing yourself for me, Leila. No matter what happens you are not allowed to do that!" His gaze narrowed, "And yes, I'm going to be a hypocrite here and say that I will gladly so it for you, but I have more of a chance at winning when I fight him!"

Nature sighed against, "I don't know. He seems pretty pissed right now..."

"No, you have exactly the same chance I have because he's shown that he can apparently control your every action if he wants," Fate argued, meeting his glare evenly. "Actually, at the moment, my chances would be better than yours. And you can't tell me what I am and aren't allowed to do, either, for that matter! Believe it or not, I am a grown woman who can make her own decisions and deal with the consequences."

"They both do," Time agreed, sitting back. "I kind of feel bad for instigating this.... I suppose he would have found out eventually though."

(haha you're all good! Is Aiko your roommate, by the way? I remember you saying she was your friend, but since you just said you braided her hair... -just random curiosity- xD)

Death couldn't take it any more at the moment. He slammed his fist into the table, cracking the solid woods, then stood and charged from the room. He was frustrated, irritated, and just plain in a bad mood. Fate was right. He couldn't save any of them and it added to his frustration. He had no clue where he was going... but he needed to let off some steam, no matter how bad he hurt.

Nature nodded, "He would have... but it would have probably been better if Fate told-" He flinched and jumped a little in his chair when Death broken the table and then stormed off. Eyes wide he watched Death leave before turning to Fate, "Uh... Fate?"

"What?" Fate snapped at Nature and then immediately regretted it, groaning as she rubbed her hands over her face. Which wasn't a good idea because that really hurt. She dropped her hands quickly. "I'm sorry," she said to him as she stood, running a hand through her hair. "I swear, he's the only person in the world who can make me so mad." Knowing him, he was going to hurt himself worse if she didn't intervene, but at the same time, she didn't want to be anywhere near him at the moment. Goddammit. "I'm going to go stop him from destroying something," she muttered to them and then left the kitchen. Since he still couldn't move very fast, he wasn't all that hard to find, and she moved in front of him, hopefully preventing him from hitting anything. "I'm not going to let you hit anything," she said flatly.

"Is it just me... or does this seem kind of bad?" Time asked Nature with a grimace after Fate had left as well.

Nature watched Fate leave, then turned to Time, "Bad. Very bad." He stood, "Come on... maybe we can somehow help."

Death froze as Fate stood in front of him. He didn't look at her, just continued to look at the hall above her head, "Go back to the others, Fate," he said, trying to control his anger, "Because right now I'm not feeling like being around anyone." Not with the anger going through him. How could he be so useless? He was supposed to protect them all... and he couldn't.

"He doesn't like either of us when he's in a good mood. Why the fuck would I want to be near him when he's like this?" Time grumbled as she got up as well.

"If I go back, you'll hit something and hurt yourself worse," Fate told Death. "So with me here, you'll either hit me or hit nothing." She crossed her arms over her chest, making it obvious that she would need to be physically removed.

Death glared at Fate, then turned and slammed his fist into the wall, "There, happy now?" He growled, "Because that seems to be the only thing I'm able to fucking hit. We all know that there's no way I'll land a punch on the man I truly want to beat, so why not the wall?" He snarled. fisting his now bleeding hand, "I can't protect any of us, Fate, and right now that's infuriating! So I either need an outlet for all this rage... or I need to have Chaos right here in front of me!"

Nature froze in the hall as he heard the screaming. There was a fresh hole in the wall next to Death and blood slowly dripping from the guy's hand, "Yeah... this is really bad."

"No, I'm not happy! I'm not happy that we're in this situation, or that you're hurt, or that I can't even seem to be able to figure out a way to help. Think about how you're feeling and that's usually me. So deal with it and figure out a different way to do something useful." And because she refused to sit by while he continued to punch things anyway, she turned around and left without another word, brushing by Nature and Time as well. She didn't say anything but just wandered the house until she found some cluttered unused room she doubted anyone would look for her in and then made herself as small as possible in a hard-to-reach corner.

Yeah... Time didn't really have words anymore at this point. "I'm really starting to wonder what the hell you thought we could do to help," she told Nature after Fate just up and left.

Nature shook his head, "Go keep an eye on Fate. I'm sure if something happened to her Death will blame us for it, so we might as well try to know where she is. I'll follow Death." Then he turned and looked at Death who was still standing where Fate had left him. He seemed quiet.... until he suddenly roared and slammed his fist multiple times into the wall beside him.

"Tsk, tsk. And with how Nature and Time talked, I thought your relationship was stronger than this." Chaos said as he appeared in front Fate.

Time grumbled, glancing back the way that Fate had gone, then shook her head. "Deathms more likely to actually hit you, and you know Fate better. You go look for her and I'll try to get Death to calm down," she reasoned, even as Death began to punch the wall again. And again. And again.

Fate really hadn't been given a chance to simmer down really when Chaos showed up. Great. The one person she could stand to avoid, and he happened to also be the only one who could easily find her. "We're fine," she snapped in reply to his comment. "Why are you here anyway?" She was in no mood to deal with Chaos or try to puzzle him out and what he wanted. She just wanted to be alone so she could calm.

Nature nodded and headed down the hall after Fate. He hoped he could find her... she'd had quite the head start.

Chaos smiled, "Why, it's your turn to be tested." Then he snapped his fingers and Fate appeared in an empty plain white room beside Chaos. He snapped his fingers again and a glass window appeared. One[ the other side was a hospital room. There were two beds. One had a family around it with a little girl hooked up to life support. She was only about seven and everyone around her were crying. In the other bed... Death lay still, no one around him, and hooked up to life support as well. Both patients were pale and both were very close to passing, "Here's your test... you can save only one." A flick of his wrists and two sets of threads appeared in front of Fate. One black to represent Death and one white to represent the child, "Choose wisely." Chaos smiled as she watched her.
