Emmet smiled. He chuckled kind of nervously. He didn't really date a lot of girls. But she was right, she was pretty special. He didn't know why yet but she was really special to him. Though if the thought scared him he wasn't sure if he wanted to know how that would make her feel. "I guess. I didn't really think about it... I just wanted to share somehing with you that might help you see a part of me that you didn't know before." He said and looked down at his water as if concentrating on opening it. Honestly though he was just slightly embarrassed. Emmet looked up and opened the fruit and popped a peice into his mouth as if it would help him shut up. Emmet felt vulnerable here with her. It was something about expossing this part of himself to her.

North grabbed her bag as he took her hand. She followed him silently. She needed him more then she understood. When David opened the door to his car she frowned looking worried. "I am not going to the police, and I am not talking about it." She said just so they where clear. She let him take her bag and she slipped into his car buckling up. When he shut the door she rested her head on his window closing her tired looking eyes. North felt safe with David and that scared her, it also put her in danger. But she had tried to warn him. He had no idea what he was getting himself into. North looked over at him wanting to reach out and comfort him but she knew that it was her pain that was hurting him. It created deep feelings in her stomach that she had no words to put to. North sighed and looked out the window. She ended up closing her eyes again wishing there was something she could do, something she could say. North ran a hand through her hair wishing that she had been able to cover up how bad it was at least a little.

A blush flitted across Hailee's cheeks and her gaze went back downwards. After a moment she replied to him, "Well thank you for wanting to share this with me. It makes me feel..." She struggled with her words, not really knowing how to place her feelings and her embarassment made her stammer. "Wonderful?" The word was simple but it was hard to get out and came out like a question, causing her blush to deepen.

"Don't worry, I wouldn't do that to you," David replied as he placed his car into reverse and backed out of the parking space. "I just figured you'd like to do something... Nice." He attempted to smile at her but her head didn't leave the window and he wondered if she was sleeping. He looked at the time displaying on the radio and let out a sigh. His parents would be working so he could easily get her into the house without many questions. Not that they would say much if they were there but he didn't want to have to answer the questions that would surely come if they saw her face.

Emmet looked up and smiled. He reached out and touched her hand. He smiled softly as their eyes met. "Good." He said then pulled back pulling the sandwich hings to him. "So how do you like your sandwich?" He asked and smiked as he sat ready to make her food. Emmet was glad that they did this. Emmet made her sandwich as she talked. He handed it to her when it was finished before beging to make his own. Emmet was glad that he took her here. He took a bite of his finished sandwich leaning back on his arm.

North thought about what nice might be. She didn't remember to much about that. But even the word reminded her of her parents. They where always doing family things. She closed her eyes relaxing until she felt he car come to a stop. She looked up to look out the window seeing the gates. She looked over at David as he opened them. She looked confused at him but soon returned her gaze to the window. As they drove up to the house she could feel her mouth drop slightly. Why where they here at this beautiful place she clearly didn't belong? This was his home? It was the only explination she could think of but why would he bring her here? North suddenly felt like running not trusting this kindness. She felt her breath hitch and she knew she must have looked skittish as well because David was even softer with his voice then normal.

Hailee chewed her food slowly as they talked. Once she finished it, she leaned back onto the blanket and stared up at the bright blue sky that was filled with puffy white clouds. "Clouds are so beautiful," she said lightly, raising her hand towards the sky, "I want to know what it's like to touch one. I know that they're supposed to be all mist and such but I can't help but imagine that they feel like overly large extraordinary puffy pillows. What do you think?"

"Hey, you're safe here. No one will be here except a few maids and a butler." David smiled at her, squeezing her hand gently. "I would like to introduce you to Josephine. She's one of the best people in the world, and she can help with cleaning your cuts." He eyed North carefully, trying to soothe her with his tone of voice. He was completely honest with his intentions, that way she wouldn't be blindsided by anything that would cause her to be angry with him. David slipped out of the car and made his way to the passenger side, opening the door for her and taking her hand. "C'mon. No one here is going to hurt you."

Emmet chuckled and nodded. "I always kinda felt that way too." He said laying beside her. "I don't think those sientist know what they are talking about. I bet they just want to keep all the fluffy could pillows to themselves." He teased grinning. Emmet wondered how he could help her feel a cloud. He would think of something cleaver eventually. Emmet looked over at her. "So what are you doing for homecoming?" He asked nonchalantly but he was nervous about her awnser. He really wanted to go with her.

North looked up at him as he opened her door. She grabbed her bag and slipped out of the car moving close to David. But somehow she still wasn't ready for this. She didn't really want anyone cleaning her up. She didn't want anyone to see. North pulled her hood up and looked up at David as they approached the front door. She lickdd her split lip and winched. As they walked in she felt the coldness. It wasn't a home, it was a cold house just like where she stayed but in a different way. North let David take her where ever he was and she tried not to look around. When they passed by someone she would turn into David so they didn't see that he brought home a stray. She could feel the tears threatening. She didn't need pitty or charity she could take care of herself but at the same time she wanted somewhere safe to sleep for just a little bit.

Hailee paused at his question and thought about it for a moment. What had she planned for homecoming? Honestly, she hadn't thought that far along even though she was on the decorating committee and was a cheerleader (which pretty much meant you had to go). "I have no idea, actually. Putting up decorations?" She giggled and turned her head to face him. "What are you doing?"

David reached the guest room and headed into it. "There is clean clothes in the closet and a bathroom," he pointed at the wooden doors, "if you would like to take a shower or something." He hoped that he could portray through his eyes that his offer wasn't meant to be rude, just that he wanted her to be comfortable. "No one comes in here, so you'll be fine. I'm going to get Josephine." He bit the side of his lip before placing a gentle kiss on her forehead and dashing out of the room.

His heart was beating quickly in his chest as he approached Josephine's room. There was a "yes?" in response to his light knock. "It's David, I need your help in the guest room." Josephine opened the door, a look of worry dashed across her features as she looked over him. She didn't say anything though, instead she headed towards the guest room.

Emmet shrugged thinking that was a silly question. Was it really unobvious that he wanted to know if she had a date? "Hopefully convincing a pretty lady to come with me and save at least the last dance for me." He said and picked a flower twirling it as he handed it to her. "So what do you say will you come with me?" He asked bitting the inside of his check his heart pounding with nerves as he silently prayed that she wasn't going with someone else. Emmet smiled softly as he watched her for a reaction hoping that it would be a kind one, and maybe if he was lucky enough maybe a yes.

"Your leaving?" North wispered. When he said she would be fine she sighed and looked at the cloths finding nothing to her taste but maybe she could get her cloths cleaned if she wore these for a little while. She picked out something that wasn't to bad and once David left she stripped leaving her cloths neatly piled by the bathroom door. She slipped into the bathroom and stood there looking around almost afraid to touch anything. North slipped into the shower and cleaned up. She hissed as the soap stung in her cuts. She didn't take long. North dried and dressed cleaning up as she went. North looked in the mirror and frowned staning there looking at the mess that was her. She lifted the shirt looking at the bruising that told of the bruised ribs inside. North combed her hair and slipped out of the bathroom to see David and a woman. The woman turned toward her and she flinched expecting the look to be as it always was when people saw her bruise. The same look David had given. North wrapped her arms around her waist. She looked down not wanting to see the looks. North only wanted to be back to normal all ready. "Sorry." She said instantly as a reaction to the uncomfort.

"Oh," Hailee's eyes went wide with shock; a boy had never asked her to anything before. "O-Of course," she stammered, a bright red staining her cheeks. Her gaze shifted away from his face, attempting to hide her embarrassment. She didn't understand why she was acting like this; she definitely wasn't shy but then again, no guy had actually attempted to really go even this far with her.

Josephine made a tsking noise in North's direction, "There is no need for you to be sorry for anything." David watched as Josephine busied herself with cleaning North up. "Here David, take these," a wad of clothing was shoved into his arms, "have these washed for your friend." David nodded at her as he took the clothing, flashing a quick smile at North, and headed back out of the bedroom door and towards the laundry room.

Emmet smiled really big and took her hand. He kissed it and chuckled. "So should I talk to your dad about picking you up or should we not go there quiet yet?" he asked not ready to really meet her father. They still had a week till homecoming though. Emmet laced his fingers with her. He really liked this with her. He could get use to spending time with her. Emmet hoped this could go somewhere because he really liked Hailee.

North bit her lip but smirked at how David listened to Josephine. She could tell they cared a lot for each other. North held still for Josephine but she was so embarrassed that she didn't say anything. North was thankful though for her gentle hands even if she flinched at every move. North looked up as David came back in the room. They where almost done here and she didn't know if David would want to stay long here once they where done. North really wanted to stay though. Despite the looks and how obvious it was that she didn't belong it was nice. It was nice to have David here, to be safe. Once they finished she moved to David and wrapped her arms around his waist and hiding her head in his shoulder. He felt warm and she enjoyed that as much as she enjoyed how kind he was. North went to let go after a little while though because she could feel Josephine watching.

"You don't have to ask my dad. My parents expect me to go, with a date, and probably win homecoming queen." Hailee gave him a little half smile. "They won't even see me out the door, like if you picked me up... They wouldn't do the whole picture thing. I mean, they would but they wouldn't. I'd still have to take pictures but Josephine has always took them instead of my parents." Her dad had never been bad but her mother had ridiculously high expectations of her only daughter. Of course, Hailee was sure, it would be a lot worse if she had a sister.

David held onto North tighter as he felt her attempt to move away. "Josephine, thank you for your help. I'll let you go back to enjoying your day," he smiled at the other woman as she eyed him warily, giving him a look like he would have to explain himself later on. Nonetheless, she let them be alone and he was thankful that she was so understanding. "I'm glad you're okay," David nuzzled his face in North's hair, breathing her in.

Emmet nodded. "Well that's a releif off my mind." He said and smiled. He took her hand gently. She seemed like she was under so much presher. He hoped that with him she never felt that way. Emmet looked over at her and kissed her hand gently. "So we could sit here or go for a hike or what ever you want." Emmet smiled. "There is a lake just down the cliff with an easy way of getting down to it..." he said before realizing they didn't bring swimsuits.

North hugged him trying not to squirm. His arms where starting to hold her to tight but she felt safe. How did they just advance to what seemed like a relationship? North didn't care though because she knew David would never hurt her. He cared her her even with how strang that was to her. "David..." her stomach growled and she blushed lookkng down. She hadn't eaten all day.

"Hm," Hailee muled the idea around in her head before replying with a chipper, "come on! Let's go!" She jumped up from where she had been laying, tugging at his hand. The lack of swimsuits hadn't really crossed through her mind either, not until they had reached the lake. Suddenly, she felt bold; she wanted to do something wild, something her parents would never approve of. Before Emmett could say a word she was slipping her shirt over her head and shimming out of her shorts. Leaving her in nothing but her matching black bra and panties. Placing her hands on her hips she asks, "Are you coming?"

"Hey, you don't have to be embarrassed." David tilted her head back up gently, his eyes meeting hers. "We can go into the kitchen. At this time of day, no one is really out and about and my parents are at work so you don't have to worry about anyone staring at you." He knew how much she hated the questioning looks people gave her and how much she seemed not to trust other people, so he felt the need to reassure her that everything would be okay.

Emmet walked with her enjoying the walk. He smiled looking at the lake. He looked over at her to see her shimming out of her pants. When she stood there looking at him. It took a while for her question to sink in. "Uhh yeah." He said and stripping to his joxers. He smiled licking his lips as he looked at Hailey. He sun glidering off he water reflected so beautifully on her skin. He bet no one ever knew this side of her.

North nodded and smiled softly. She looked up at him and took his hand ready for him to lead the way. She walked down with him managing to avoid many eyes. North was greatful for that. She walked into the kitchen and found a seat. "David... thank you."

Hailee noticed Emmett checking her out and instead of getting embarrassed, she suddenly felt pretty confident. What did she have to be embarrassed about anyways? Her skin was a very light tan (her being a red head seemed to mean she couldn't tan as well as other girls) and she had pretty great body thanks to all the sports she had participated in (cheerleading is totally a sport). She sauntered into the water, letting her hips sway, and turned facing him and beckoned him forward with the bending motion of her index finger. She didn't know where all her bravery was coming from but she damn sure liked it.

"There is no need to thank me," David smiled over at her, "it's what, um, friends, are for?" His statement suddenly becoming a question because he wasn't really sure what they were. Red stained his cheeks and he faced a couple of cabinents. "So, uh," he started, clearing his throat, "anything you have in mind?"

Emmet smirked. He flollowed her in his hand finding her hips and he turned her around winking. "You are amazing." He said and smiled before diving into the clear water and swimming toward the middle. He popped back up for air smirking bacm at Hailee. She was amazing and beautiful and he knew they had something good going on. There where good for eachother. Emmet smirked at how good they where together like a hand to a good glove. She felt like coming home.

North flinched looking down nodding. She had just been friendzoned. Couldn't he tell how she was weak for him? North smiled softly. "Anything is fine." She shrugged. North guessed that she couldn't be surprised. He probaby had a girlfriend already. Someone blonde and bubbly. Someone exotic with a sexy accent that came form Eroupe every summer to hook up with him. Someone who fit in his world. North fittled with a string on her shirt. She kne it must be a mistake to be there just like her.

"Oh, you think you're real fancy, huh? Swimming out to the middle? I can do that, too!" Hailee stuck her tongue out at him and then made her way to where he was. She mentally thanked her parents for all the swimming lessons they had put her through and the swim team. Reaching her destination, she pushed her hair out of her face and flung it around a bit, kind of pulling an Ariel, the little mermaid.

David worried at his bottom lip, noticing the sudden change in her mood, knowing it was something he had said. He rummaged the cabinet thinking to himself, there is no possible way she feels the same way I do, but suddenly he wasn't so sure. What else could he have said to upset her but by calling her a friend? Pulling a box of cereal out of the cabinet, he turned to face her. She was tugging at a lose thread on her shirt and his heart clenched. Before all bravery left him, which was barely any since he was extremely nervous, he stalked towards her with sheer determnation. David grabbed her face into his hands with as much gentleness he could muster and then pressed his lips to hers, and prepared himself for possibly being slapped.

Emmet smiled and laughed. "Hailee you are gorgeous." He said smirking as he swam in place watching her. She was astonishing to him. He had no idea how she did that to him. Emmet swam over to her and kissed her hand. "So little mermaid you have me in the water now what?" He teased. Emmet was so glad she said yes. She was glad that she wanted to spend time with him as much as he did her.

North gasped feeling his hands and the sudden warmth of his lips against hers. She sighed closing her eyes as her hand rested on his chest. North causiously kissed him back but not for long. She broke the kiss looking down her cheeks stained with red. She couldn't say anything her heart beating so fast she was afraid it would pop out of her chest. Her stomach flipped so much she thought it might jump out of her throat. So again North waited for him to explain what that was for. She could still feel him so close to her but she didn't look up.

"Hm, I don't know," Hailee cocked her head to the side and pursed her lips. She moved closer to him and walked her fingers up his chest, laying her hand on his shoulder. "You're the one who planned this date, shouldn't you know what to do next?" She quirked a brow at him.

David's breathing was hitched and he heart thudded violently. He hadn't wanted the kiss to end but he didn't have much say in the matter. "You know you're wonderful, right? Wonderful, smart, talented.. Beautiful." The last word came out in a whisper and he bit his lip out of nervous habit.

Emmet smirked and put his hand on her hip. He leaned in and kissed her cheek at the corner of her mouth. Emmet smiled as he pulled back looking down at her. "Sometimes you just go without a plan hoping that hings will go their course." He admited and laid back swimming around.

North looked up at him her bottom lip quivering with desire. She wanted what he said to be true with all she had within her. North shook her head her eyes looking sad. "No David that is you not me. You are wonderful, and smart, talented, kind and handsome. I am no one." She said and took his hand wishing this wasn't so complicated. North sighed and stood as he started to argue back. She went making cerial and taking a huge bite.

"So, you're a go with the flow kind of person, huh?" Hailee laughed as he swam around her. "I chose to typically have a plan so all of the going with flow stuff," she said as she flailed her hands around a bit, "is quite new to me." She eyed him carefully, noticing how his muscles rippled and she wanted to reach out and touch them. Emmett was definitely way cute and she was sure if she was a typical girl all of her friends would be way jealous.

David frowned as North took a bite out of her cereal. "Well, I assure you that I was talking about you. I don't really talk about myself much, in fact, I hate talking about myself for the most part. There is nothing great about being a poster boy with fake friends. Unlike you; you're real, honest, and you don't pretend to be something you're not. That's my favorite part about you."
