Like Walking Into a Dream

Asher kept her head down as they walked into the building. She had gotten used to random people call in her names like "slut" and "freak" but her stomach still turned flips everytime she gard their rude comments. She was surprised when Matt something. No one ever stood up for her. Her jaw dropped when she saw him practically break a kids nose. "Matt. Your didn't have to do that, I'm okay."she daid, touching his arm lightly

"I had to" I said to her. " I won't stand for anyone to call you that" I said to her. "You don't deserve that. It's fucked up for them to say that" I sighed quietly and grabbed her hand and led her to the auditorium so that the guys and I could set up for the talent show. "Where are we going?" she asked me. "To set up the stage for the talent show" I said to her.

Asher followed him quietly into the auditorium. She had only been in here once before for freshman orientation. It was big and spacious and quiet except for the sound of th e guys s wet ting up their equipment. "What are you guys playing?" She asked.

I gave her a gesmile and wrapped my arm around her. "We're going to be playing a few of our songs in hopes of getting a contract and becoming famous" I explained to her.

"Oh." She said quitly, wrapping her own arms around his waist. "We'll I think you guys are going to do amazing." She had heard them play before and they were really good. But of course that was just her opinion. She didn't know what the scouts might think.

I gave her a gentle smile amd kissed her head before hopping up onto the stage to test my mic. I hoped we did good today. I hoped we got our contract. I hoped after living across from Asher for 15 years that I would finally get the gyys to ask her out.

Asher waved a good luck to him and went to go find a seat. She should probably check in with her furst period class but she wanted to stay and listen to the gus warm up. She sat in the front row, her legs crossed.

I gave Asher a gentle smile and began to sing into the mic. It was onw od our heavier songs called "Turn the other way" but it was a good song, it had a loud beat, and good riffs, which was always a plus. As I c ontinued to sing the song, I saw people filter in, to see where all music was coming from.

Asher rested her hands in her lap. The first sing was really loud which she usually didn’t like, but this one she could feel. She could feel all the emotion behind the lyrics and the power. She leaned back in her seat.

after we finished the song i hoped off of the stage and walked over to Asher. "What did you think?" I asked her, sitting down beside her. I honestly hoped she liked it.

"You guys are amazing." She smiled broadly. "Really great." Asher touched his hand lightly and looked into his eyes. She honestly believed that they could win the talent show. They were a really talanted bunch.

Asher gave him a big hug before he hopped up onto the stage. "Good luck,Matt!" She called after him before settling into her seat. Some people were giving her sideways glances after seeing their public affection but she didn't care. All she cared about was the showing and seeing Matt perform.

Asher folded her legs in her chair, her breath caught in her chest. She didn't know why she was worried. Maybe because this meant so much for him and she knew that, but she was very anxious. As soon as he started singing however, she relaxed and melted into her seat .
