Then You Found Me

Annabell smiled hearing his heart beating. She didn't want to say anything and ruin the moment but then she wanted to be sure that this was real. She bit her lip and gripped the back of his shirt more as she pressed her face into his chest.

Akexandre felt embarrassment course through his body. He willed his blush away and cleared his throat. He wondered, had she wanted to kiss him? And if so, for how long? He had thought about it a few times, sure, but still. Had she wanted to kiss him for a long time?

Annabell looked up at him and giggled. "You're so cute." she said and kissed his cheek. "Come on let's get off the floor." she said and then pulled back and stood. She smiled at him and took his hands helping him stand. "How are you feeling?" she asked and touched his side carefully. Annabell had no idea why he was blushing but it was truly sweet. She felt good about all of this.

"It's fine," Alexandre replies after he's standing. "It's just a bit achy, but I think it's cuz I slept on it wrong." He rubs the back of his neck and looks at the floor. His body felt warm where she touched it, and he kept his eyes averted.

Annabell moved closer and looked up at him catching his eyes. "Was this okay?" she whispered and touched her lip. "I..." she looked down and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "I wanted it but I won't do it again if you're not okay with it." she said softly.

Alexandre looks back her, his eyes gazing into hers. "Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" Alex asked, averting his gaze again. "I'm okay with it, definitely more okay than you're probably thinking. I'm just - its been a long time, you know? I haven't kissed anyone in a long time and I guess it just surprised me. I don't know why I'm so flustered and really, I'd like my body to stop making me look like a tomato. It's kind of embarrassing." He takes a deep breath, realizing he's talking a lot. "Sorry," He laughs, "God, I'm so uncool."

Annabell looked up at him and smiled. She nodded and took his hand. "Neither have I. I had maybe a couple kisses when I was a kid but nothing like this. Everything is so different now." she said and bit her lip. She chuckled and shook her head. "Was it surprising?" she asked thinking she was obvious in her affection for him. She giggled when he said he was uncool. "Farthest from it Alex." she said and put a hand on his cheek. Besides if you lost an cool points you would have gained that many more cute points anyways." she said and bit her lip. Annabell chuckled not knowing what to do now. What did all of this mean? Were they friends, more than friends. She didn't know but she knew she should just step back and let it all work out naturally. Annabell hugged him again then pulled back and sat on the couch and pushed her feet under herself looking up at him blushing with the thoughts that sprung to her head.

Alexandre laughed, though he was still nervous. He goes to sit next to her. Thoughts run through his mind. Was this just a spur of the moment thing? Or was something she'd regularly want to do? He sighed, brushing his fingers through his hair.

Annabell smiled at him and laid her head on his shoulder. "Don't worry it's kind of surprising for me too." she said and smiled softly. "Though in my own way." she giggled nervously and bit her lip. "Do you like to read? I have lots of books." she said hoping they could change the subject now.

He shrugged, glancing to the window. He observed the outside, eyeing the tall trees and the vines that grew onto the buildings. "Yeah, I like to read sometimes." Alex answers, "I read more now than I did before."

Annabell nodded. "Yeah. I guess that's kind of true of me too but usually when it's just me I spend more time trying to prepare for tomorrow and the weeks to come. It's been so much easier with you around." she chuckled and took his hand. "You're spoiling me." she said.

Alexandre moves his gaze back to her. Yeah, I would usually read before I went to bed or if I had nothing else to do. I haven't done it in a while, well, because I've been here." He chuckles, a small grin on his face. "Oh really? How have I spoiled you?"

Annabell smiled as he said he has been here and she knew it was her presence that he found more interesting than a book. "You can't tell? I get to talk to more than just the street cats, I haven't felt alone, and you help me around here with all the work. But more of all this." she said holding his hand and putting her other hand on his. "You're touch, you're affection. It was something I didn't think I would ever have."

"You really give me too much credit," Alexandre waves his hand. "I understand what you mean, and I'm thankful for it, I just want you to know that you're strong on your own. Stronger than you think."

Annabell smiled and shook her head. "I know that Alexandre. But it's nice not to have to be that strong all the time for once." she said and looked down at their hands. "So thanks." she said and shrugged not really knowing what to do now.

Alexandre nodded, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Sorry," he chuckles, "Thank you though. You make me feel stronger and I'm glad that I make you feel not so alone."

Annabell smiled softly and shook her head. "Hey. You don't have to apologize." she said and then let go of one of his hands in order to cuddle into him. Annabell smiled softly and looked up at him.

Alexandre shrugged, "I don't mind. I just assumed so I figured I should say sorry." He looks down at Annabell and sends her a soft smile.

Annabell smiled and cuddled back into him. "Well thank you but don't worry okay?" she asked and smiled closing her eyes gently. It was so nice to be with Alexandre.

Alexandre wrapped his arms around Annabell, content with the feeling of her in his arms. "Okay," Alex answered softly, closing his eyes and leaning back against the couch.
