Why Don't You Figure My Heart Out?

Bucky smiled politely at Brooke and poured himself some food onto the plate, not too much. "There's quite a selection thanks to Steve, he watches some of them and thinks back to the 30s or 40s" he nodded taking a sip out of his cup. "Speaking of Steve, did you know he had a date tonight? I guess when he went to get those x-rays done he picked up a nurse" he chuckled. "Funny, it's usually me trying to pick up women.. I'm much too introverted now to try something like that.."

Ana nodded in agreement, "I agree, I'm constantly on call I hardly have any time off but you know, i do enjoy whatever time off I get to spend with my family and friends, I like helping people" she nodded. Ana looked at the waiter and smiled, "same," she turned back to Steve, "I'm not much of a drinker, I'll drink on occasion and it's usually just red whine"

"Well I am happy to watch whatever," smiled Brooke as she took a sip of her water. "To be honest the whole Steve going out on a date is surprise, Natasha has been trying to get him on a date with someone from ages." Brooke then ate some of her Chinese. "Oh yeah, Steve mentioned that you were quite the charmer back then."

"Alcohol has little affect on me," chuckled Steve, he had to prove this to Stark one night Stark woke up with a bad head the next day. Steve then picked up the menu a began to flick through it. "I'm not sure what to have if I'm honest," confessed Steve, everything looked great.

Bucky nodded, "well, I really enjoyed Fantasia for some reason, I know it's an animated film but the music is great." He laughed and nodded in agreement with Brooke, "he says he's been on a couple of dates, but they didn't turn out well." Bucky smiled, "well, I was not so much now, I don't really date anymore, I might scare girls away with my arm and they just wouldn't understand.."

Ana nodded, "why drink if you can't get drunk right?" she asked laughing. Ana looked at the menu and wondered what she should get, "me either, I love everything. I might go with the mushroom ravioli, and a side salad" she nodded.

"No need to justify to me why you like Fantasia, it's a great film," smiled Brooke, she was finding herself more relaxed this time round with Bucky. "I doubt that Bucky, bet in a year or so you will have charmed half of DC and be booked up with dates."

Steve laughed in agreement. "I will try the spaghetti bolognese, can't go wrong with that." Steve put his menu down on the table, "So what do you do outside of work?" Asked Steve.

Bucky shrugged, "okay," he was definitely more comfortable with Brooke. He chuckled, "I don't know, I'm not exactly modern so I'm not sure how much these women will like me, I'll give it a go when I'm ready though"

Ana smiled shrugging her shoulders a bit, "I guess not," she set her menu down and looked at him. "I don't have many friends except for my roommate so we just either sit around and watch movies or we sometimes take a stroll around the city, I do paint sometimes though, what about you?"

Brooke smiled, "I think some of The D.C women wouldn't mind someone a little old fashioned." Brooke had a few friends who went on and on about a man with old fashion values. Brooke took another sip of her water when she felt her phone vibrate, glancing at her phone she saw the caller id Jason groaning a little she silenced the call.

Steve listened to Ana's response. "I like going museums, especially the smithsonian," confessed Steve, "But normally I am at my apartment with my flat mate. However, if there is a decade dance I like to go to them."

Bucky took his fork and began to eat as he listened to Brooke, once he swallowed he replied, "is that so? well, I guess I'll have to get out there then won't I?" he shook his head and took another isp of his water. Honestly, Bucky wasn't really interested in dating at the moment he had quite a lot going on, but if someone were to get his attention he may approach them.

Ana nodded as she listened to Steve speak, "oh yeah, those are fun. Decade dance? so you'd be willing to go to a 70's dance then?" she asked teasingly. Not a lot of people liked the 70's so she wondered if he would.

Brooke took her fork and had some more food, she was just about to say something when her phone began vibrating, it was Jason again. She declined the call hoping he would get the message. Her phone went off again so Brooke declined the call once more.

"People have warned me about the 70's," laughed Steve, "But I'd be open to try it." Steve had a lot of things to catch up but he'd be more than willing to attend a dance with Ana. The waiter approach the table and Steve gestured for Ana to go first.

Bucky continued eating and he noticed that Brooke kept decline a call and he wanted to ask her about it but thought it wasn't any of his business, that was until it kept ringing and ringing and some text message tones kept ringing. "So looks like someone's trying to get a hold of you" he decided to say something about it.

Ana nodded, "I was born in the late eighties so I don' know much about it from what my parents tell me it wasn't a very good decade, again I grew up in the nineties and here I am," she chuckled. "I'd be happy to go on one though, seems kind of fun, we had decade dances in middle school and high school too, my favorite was probably the 40's and 50's" she nodded. Ana looked up at the waiter and smiled politely, "yeah, I'll have the mushroom ravioli please"

"Yeah, it's my ex, can't seem to get the hint," replied Brooke, she sighed in frustration. "Stuff it, I'm turning my phone off." Brooke then switched off her phone before returning to her food.

"I am somewhat bias to the 40's," chuckled Steve, "I will have the spaghetti bolognese please." The waiter took their orders and went away. "Before the war my friend Bucky used to drag me to dances, he was a big fan of them. I was too but I wasn't exactly the best dance partner back then."

Bucky cleared his throat and nodded, "I can scare him off for you... If you want. Not that you need me or anything I'm sure you can kick his ass" he laughed nervously. He was trying to be helpful and not let some stupid guy harass her.

Ana grinned "I can image, I also love the 20s I just love period pieces really," she looked at him. "Are you a better dancer now?" Ana took a sip off her drink and smiled, "do you play sports?"

"Thank you for the offer," laughed Brooke, "But I should be okay, if he continues to be annoying ass I will let you know." It was nice to know that Bucky was willing to help her but she needed to deal with her own problems. "He was kind if the reason was a but well annoyed earlier today," explained Brooke, "He was being a demanding ass and wanting his stuff from my flat today at a moments notice."

Steve was enjoying talking to Ana, he was learning a lot about her. "I'd say I have improved but I could always improve some more," admitted Steve, "Sports wise i was a big fan if baseball. I just haven't had a moment to catch any recently. What about you is sports a thing?"

Bucky nodded, "any time. Good. I wouldn't hurt him, just you know scare him away with some muscle" he chuckled. "At least I'm good for that right?" Bucky was only looking after her, after all that's basically what she was doing for him so it was only fair. "Oh, well. Like I said I'll be more than happy to talk to him for you" he grinned as he cracked his knuckles.

Ana nodded enjoying spending some time with Steve, he seemed like a gentleman and was really sweet, so far, "I see, well, I'm not that good either so don't feel too bad," Ana chuckled, "I swam for my high school team and did some tennis but that's about it"

Brooke smiled, there was something about Bucky offering to deal with her ex was warming. "Like I said thank you for the offer," grinned Brooke. Brooke finished up the last of her food and took another sip of water.

Steve listened carefully once again to Ana as she talked. Her bubbly, sweet nature was something Steve found quite adorable. "So how long have you been in D.C?" He asked with a soft smile.

Bucky smiled, "no problem, the offer is always there by the way, if you ever need some back up," he finished up his food and started picking up his dishes.

Ana looked at Steve with a small smile on her face as he stared at her, "not long, almost two years, I was living in Jersey when I got the call. My job up there wasn't giving me many hours and the pay wasn't as well as they have offered me here, so I moved down and my brother late me stay with him until I could get my own place.. I met my roommate through my training and we hit it off" she chuckled.

Brooke nodded as she took her empty plate into the kitchen. She began to tidy up so of the mess from the Chinese as she knew her way around Steve's kitchen. "Bucky, do you drink?" Asked Brooke if she was honest she wouldn't mind a glass of wine right now.

"Jersey! well it didn't expect that but I guess the people I have met from Jersey had an accent," smiled Steve. Out of the corner of his eye Steve spotted the waiter coming towards them with two plates. "Looks like our meal is here."

Bucky cleaned up his mess and washed his dishes, along with Brooke's looking up he shook his head, "not really, I mean I drink wine but don't over indulge I can't get drunk so, it's the only thing I like really, what about you?"

Ana chuckled, "I was born in California grew up in San Diego until I was about fourteen, my parents divorced, dad and I moved to Jersey, no accent ever came to me." She looked over and smiled, "yeah, good, I'm starving" she smiled softly.

"Well I kind of fancy a bottle of wine, there is a liquor store around the corner that I can run to." Offered Brooke, it was a matter of minutes away and it be a nice way to round off the night.

"Well San Diego to Jersey, that is a big move," stated Steve as the waiter approached the table and placed the food down in front of them. "Bon appetit," smiled Steve as he took a sip from his coke.

Bucky nodded, "hey let me go get that, or we can go together, I've got some other drinks to get anyway, I might have accidentally finished off Steve's favorite juice and well.. yeah I better get him some more he laughed.

Ana nodded, "yeah and then to DC, it's been interesting to say to say the least." Ana looked confused for a minute and shook her head, "thanks .." she sipped on her coke before picking up her fork.

"Sure thing, we can go together," smiled Brooke, it be nice for Bucky to get out of the apartment. Brooke went a grabbed her purse from the sofa and waited for Bucky beside the front door.

Steve smiled as he took a bite of his meal, it was really good. "It's really good, what about yours?" Asked Steve as he took another sip of his drink.
