Brian chuckled. "Yes, they have legs. They hang out at the beach a lot. Their names are Matt, Jimmy, Zacky and Johnny," he said with a nod. He's been friends with them for a long time. "You know, I think I like this new you today," Matt said. "It's really weird, but you seem so much happier than you usually do. I love seeing you happy." He smiled and pecked her lips. Brian furrowed his eyebrows together. "It's pretty easy to figure out if you love him or not, or see him as more then just a friend," he murmured, shrugging a littke. "Does your heart skip a beat when you see him? Does he makes you nervous and you fumble over your words when you're around him? Could you just stare at him for hours and be content with it?" Brian was just naming off a bunch of things that he used to feel with Gemma, at least when they first started dating. All those feelings kind of faded away though, but he had no one else to be with other then her.

Gemma smiled, biting down on her bottom lip and kissing his forehead. "Yeah, I like the new me today too," she giggled. "We better get dressed, I don't want anyone to see us," she murmured, looking out at the ocean after she sat up and Matt moved. She would hate it if Katherine caught them. Gemma wouldn't know what to say or what to do, she'd be completely fucked. Gemma started getting dressed, wincing at the slight pain between her legs. Did it hurt like this all the time? She sure hoped not.

Katherine frowned and looked away from him. She didn't want to admit that he was right, that she didn't feel that way about Matt. They were just really good friends, and their relationship really wasn't everything she wanted it to be. She looked back over him after a minute. "And what about you and Gemma?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest. "Do you feel that way about her, huh?" Maybe she was getting a little bit too defensive, but she couldn't help it. She just always felt this strong need to protect herself and her feelings.

Matt groaned. "But I'm too lazy," he grumbled, looking over at her. He sat up and reached up, grabbing her hand and pulling her down into his lap. He pressed his lips against hers, reaching up and running his fingers through her hair. "Let's just sit here for a minute, okay? I want to hold you and feel you against me after something like this." He slid his arms around her waist and held her against his chest, sighing contently. He didn't know why he was suddenly feeling so cheesy and romantic, but he was.

Brian chuckled and shook his head. "I used to, but not anymore. We're more best friends then anything. We just kind of got together because neither one of us wanted to end up with anyone else in our tiny little village," he said with a shrug, sighing softly. He wished he could do more for himself then what he was doing. He wanted to find love, be with someone he actually enjoyed being with, not feeling like he was forced to have a relationship with the person. That's what his and Gemma's was, forced.

Gemma smiled at him, actually liking the feeling of him holding her. She buried her face in the crook of his neck, places a few soft kisses there. She really hoped that she didn't fall for this guy. She'd be doomed, and she knew that once he found out that he had sex with his girlfriend's sister, he was never going to want to speak to either of them again. Especially her.

Katherine was up early, roaming around the house and exploring. Everything underwater seemed so much more beautiful and she didn't know why. Maybe it was because this was all new to her. She didn't know. She picked up a family photo of Gemma and her parents, frowning slightly as she looked down at it. She should be in that picture, not just Gemma. She put it back in its place before she swam away, going back to her room. She loved her mother, of course she did. But now that she knew the truth, it just didn't feel right anymore. Knowing the woman that raised her for her entire life wasn't her real mother, it just made everything seem less genuine in her life. Like, what was real and what wasn't?

Matt went to Katherine's house the next day, carrying a bouquet of lilies with him. He knew they were her favorite flower and since she had opened up to him so much yesterday, he felt like their relationship was stronger. He just felt like bringing her flowers. He walked up to the front door and knocked on it, smiling when her mom answered. She let him in and he went to Katherine's room, knocking on the door before opening the door and slipping in. He moved to shut the door, pouting when her mom shouted for him to leave it open, because he knew better. He sighed and walked over, reaching down and gently shaking her. "Kat, wake up," he murmured, leaning down to kiss her temple. She never usually slept in this late, but he figured she was just tired from yesterday. It had been a big day for her, to finally give herself to him like that.

Brian sighed as he finished taking care of Bubs first thing in the morning. Since usually he'd be doing it for Gemma, he figured he'd do it for Katherine too. Especially since Gemma never got out of bed until sometime in the afternoon. Brian grabbed Bubs stuff, going inside and putting them away. He saw Katherine set a picture down and he bit down in his bottom lip, following her into her room. "Good morning," he greeted, sitting down in the clam shell chair over in the corner of her room. "You're up early. How did you sleep?"

Gemma groaned, snorting a bit before rolling over and pulling the covers over her head. She's realized that she really hated the sun in the mornings on the surface. She heard Matt try to wake her up more and more, wanting to just slap the shit out of him. She grabbed him by the shirt, yanking him down onto the bed with her and cuddling into him. "Just five more minutes," she said sleepily, draping her leg over his waist. She hadn't opened her eyes yet and she wasn't sure she was ready to. She wasn't sure that she even could, they were so dry and they felt glued shut. "I had a dream that we had sex on the beach."

Katherine looked up at Brian, biting her lip gently. "I could have slept better," she said. "I just couldn't stop thinking about how my whole life is basically a lie." She sighed as she reached down, running her fingertips over her tail. It was still so surreal for her to be sitting here, without legs. She wondered how Gemma was doing up on the surface with Matt. Was she treating him kindly? She thought for a moment, looking back up at Brian. "Tell me more about Gemma. What is she like? I don't really know too much about her. You said she was kind of a rebel. What does she do?" She was genuinely curious to know more about her sister, but to also make sure she wasn't causing trouble up on the surface for her to come back to.

Matt chuckled softly, reaching up and pushing her hair away from her face. He kissed her forehead. "I guess I'll take that as a compliment," he said. "I hope it was a good dream." He leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers, kissing her passionately. He didn't know why all of a sudden it felt so different to kiss her, or be around her. But he didn't really mind. She seemed more at ease, and less uptight. He liked this side of her, and he hoped it wasn't temporary. He pulled back after a minute, raising an eyebrow when she still had her eyes shut. "What are you doing?" he asked curiously, reaching up and pulling her eyelid up playfully.
