Riley leaned her head over onto his shoulder and let out a soft cry. She did believe that he'd keep her safe, that he wouldn't let Jeremy or anyone else for that matter hurt her. And that was a good thing because she didn't want to ever end up in a hospital room again afraid of what was going to happen to her when she went home. And if she never saw Jeremy again it's still be too soon. She felt stupid really for getting involved with him in the first place, for not listening to what Carlos had told her. But she couldn't take it back now it was too late for all that. "I don't want him to show up here." She finally said softly knowing that she would tell Juice if Jeremy showed up, but she hoped deep down that he wouldn't just so she'd never have to be near him or afraid or just have to see him again.

Jax was down letting Thomas play with his vest and the patches. He looked over at Carter and just nodded his head before replying. "Sure." He said figuring they might as well start somewhere. They didn't have to get back together, and honestly he wasn't even sure if he saw that in their future since who knew how she felt about it. But they had a son together that he knew about now so as long as she stayed back in town they were going to be seeing a lot of one another. They might as well make it as non awkward as possible and just get used to be around one another again, no matter what happened.

Juice kept his arms wrapped around her as he lent in kissing her forehead lightly. He took and rubbed her back softly. He'd keep her safe no matter what. If he ever saw Jeremy, he'd kill him on the spot. No questions asked. He heard the soft cry and her words his heart was merely breaking, "He won't." Juice whispered to her. "Do you want to come to my place for a while?" Juice asked her.

Carter nodded her head and gave him a half smile, "I'm going to go ahead and take him. It's almost his nap time. You're more than welcome to come over anytime you want." Carter told Jax as she got up off the table looking down at him. "I live beside of Ope, so it isn't hard to find the house." She told him as she saw Jax offer Thomas back to her. She took him into her arms and gave a light wave to Jax and walked back to her car sighing. She had no idea how he felt about them getting back together. She honestly wanted, but she doubted he did. She got her son buckled in and saw Opie wave to her that he was staying. She left TM heading home to get her son laid down for his nap and prepare some food for dinner.

Riley wanted to believe him. She wanted to believe that she'd be safe here from Jeremy because he'd never show up here. And she didn't want to worry about Carlos getting himself into some kind of trouble because of her stupid mistake. But truthfully she was always going to be afraid of seeing him again. And even if Carlos kept his promise and kept her safe, like she just knew he would, she was still worried. "I don't wanna be a bother. And if you have other things to do I don't wanna get in the way." She told him not wanting him to just drop everything for her. "You just do whatever you need to do and try not to worry too much about me. I have you number if something happens." She said knowing she probably didn't look like she'd be okay alone and that he might protest. But she was sure she'd be okay alone for a few hours at the most. And if she got home and freaked out or wanted him to come by she'd just call him.

"Okay. Uh I guess I'll stop by later then for dinner." Jax said while he watched her take Thomas and head out. Once she was in her car and leaving though he made his way into the club house, where he knew Tig and Opie were watching. Hello Chibs might've gotten back by now and could be watching too. "Well how'd it go?" Tig asked in a voice that implied he hadn't been staring at them through the window and had no idea what'd happened. "Shut up." Jax said shaking his head. Honestly for a bunch of grown men in a motorcycle club they sure could act like a bunch of teenagers sometimes.

Juice looked at Riley shaking his head lightly, "I don't have anything to do for now. Not till later anyways. I really don't mind being with you." Juice tried to assure her. He took and smiled lightly at her, "I can follow you home before I take and head off to the garage to finish up my days worth of work." Juice smiled taking her hand into his and kissing it lightly. He was worried about her, seeing she wasn't alright.

Carter parked in the driveway as she got out. She took and held to Thomas going inside as she shut the door. She smiled glad Jax was coming by. She put Thomas down for a nap and went about doing the cooking. She was going to prepare his favorite meal for him. She let a sigh escape her lips remembering that night. In her heart she'd always forgave him, and at the time running seemed like the best thing to do. "Hey honey." Piney spoke.

Carter was jerked back to reality as she looked at her father. She had tears going down her face, that she hadn't realized that were. She walked over to her dad hugging to him feeling him soothing her pain away. "What's wrong, Carter?" He whispered.

"I had missed him. When I saw him, and the way he acted. It hurts. I know I made a mistake. I apologized, I even sent him a letter, but fucking Gemma didn't get it to him, daddy." She whispered into her dad's belly sniffing. She looked up at him as the two of them sat down and talked.

"Alright then." Riley told him just giving in. She didn't mind spending time with him, she hadn't seen him in so long after all anyways that it'd be nice to catch up. She just didn't want to be a burden. "So what exactly do you do?" She asked not really sure. Just like she wasn't sure what the leather cut and motorcycle had to do with anything. Like was he part of a gang or something. She had no idea. If he was part of a gang she wasn't sure how she'd feel. After all gang business was intense stuff. But surely it wasn't a gang. Maybe he was just part of a club or something less intense.

"Really how'd it go brother?" Opie asked Jax as he was lighting up another cigarette and opening a beer. "It went pretty good. I mean we didn't yell or anything. Found out I have a son, and I don't know how I'm feeling about everything right now but I'm sure we'll figure it out. I'm going over there for dinner tonight. So I think we'll just go from there." Jax told them knowing they'd asked until he told them. Plus he knew Opie was just a concerned friend and brother and wanted to make sure there was peace between everyone.

"Mechanic at the local garage." Juice said not sure if he should tell her about the MC. He took and paid the tab and took and walked her to her car. He smiled down at her, "So i'll follow you to your place. Maybe we could do a movie one night or something?" Juice offered her. He'd missed her so much, and he wanted nothing more than to spend all the time he could with her.

Carter finished the food up as she prepared the table. She made a small plate for Thomas and smiled putting him in his high chair. She took and smiled at him as she pinched his cheek lightly and waited for Jax to come. She picked at her nails, she was going to take her dad's advice from earlier. About just going with the flow and seeing where everything went between the two of them.

Riley knew there was something he wasn't telling her, but she didn't question it or push him to tell her because she probably didn't wanna know right now anyways. She was positive though that if there was anything he wanted her to know for sure that when he felt the time was right he'd tell her. "Sounds good. And yea we could totally do a movie one night or something." She said figuring maybe one night he could come over and they could have dinner and watch a movie and feel like they were in high school again. Only of course this time they were gonna do things right and not end up with people they clearly weren't meant to be with.

Jax spent a little more time at the clubhouse with Opie and Tig before he finally headed out so he'd get to Carters place at a reasonable time. Even if it wasn't that far away or anything, and it isn't like Charming's that big of a place so it wouldn't take him long anyways he still wanted to be there before it was too dark. He didn't wanna make Carter wait around all night for him either. He'd told her he'd be at her house for dinner and so he was gonna be at her house for dinner. And he was sure she'd already started cooking and that by the time he got there it'd be nearly done, or maybe already done. Who knew. So he drove to her house and parked his bike in the driveway then went to knock on the door.

Juice grinned at her, "Sounds great. Just call me let me know when. I gotta head back to work though. I am a phone call away if you need me at all. I mean at all." He told her as he kissed her forehead and smiled. He walked down the drive and got on his bike heading for TM to finish up a day.

Carter heard the peck and smiled at Thomas seeing Jax's bike out in front, "It's open." Carter called out. She took and sat beside of her son watching him sip his juice as she ruffled his hair a little. She could hear footsteps as she saw Jax round the corner, "Hey it's ready." She said lightly.

Riley nodded her head, "I will." She told him before he was heading to leave and she turned to head inside her house. She wasn't really sure what she was gonna do for the rest of the day now, and she was actually still trying to wrap her head around the fact that they were in the same city again. Truthfully if there was one person she'd never actually thought she'd bump into again it was him. And yea she'd hated that, hated that he'd left and never known how she'd felt. But she'd been coming to terms with it. Now they were both here though, together again and with the chance to really give being with one another shot. It was all she could ever ask for.

Jax walked into the house when he heard her call from the other side. And the first thing that hit him was the smell of his favorite meal. Which brought a smile to his face. And he knew this was what he'd wanted. All he'd wanted was this right here. To have someone he loved. Have a family with them and be able to come home to people he cared about every night. And he wouldn't have to come home to a nice cooked meal every night but the feeling he was getting right now was really nice. "It smells amazing." He told Carter once he'd spotted her.

Juice took and smiled to himself as he took and finished up the last bit of work he had to do. He wiped his hands off as he took and walked out. He looked around the lot seeing most of the guys gone. He got on his bike and took and pulled out heading to Riley's house. Along the way he picked up various things for their movie night. He was glad he was getting a second chance with her.

Carter smiled seeing Jax, "Thank yo." She said softly as she sat beside of Thomas handing him his food. She smiled watching him dive into his plate of food as she giggled. She looked at Jax and smiled, "Dada." Thomas grinned with his food all over his face. Carter let a soft laugh escape her lips as she smiled at her son than to Jax.

Riley pushed her fingers through her hair and sighed stressing out while she was on the phone with her friend. She'd spent most of her day just unpacking everything. She'd even left again to actually stock her kitchen with food. And it was almost as if on cue her phone started to ring. Not that she'd really been expecting any phone calls. She'd only given her new number to one person back home and she'd made sure her friend hadn't saved the number under her name either in case anyone was snooping. She went to grab it and nearly had a heart attack at the number popping up on her screen. She couldn't do this, she didn't know how he'd gotten her new number, or what else he might've known but either way she knew she couldn't deal with this. He was going to drive her insane.

Jax nodded his head and watched Thomas for a moment just digging into his food. He even felt his heart melt a little when he actually heard his son call him dada. He really hated that he'd missed out on his first two years but he'd get over that and just be glad that he was getting to be apart of the kids life now. "Yea that's right kid it's dada." He finally said smiling at him.

Parking his bike out front, Juice took and got off his bike with the couple bags and headed up to the front door. He knocked lightly on it smiling ear to ear. He was truly glad he was getting a second chance. He took and looked around making sure nothing looked out of the ordinary. He waited a few more seconds and pecked again waiting on Riley to come to the door.

Carter smiled towards Jax as she got up from the table and walked over to the fridge. She pulled a beer out and sat it down at Jax before returning to her seat. She gave Thomas a paper towel to wipe his hands with and smiled. She picked her food a little as she glanced at Jax every one and a while while he was eating. She bit down on her lip wanting to make conversation, "So, um. How is everything?" She asked lightly.

Riley wasn't sure what she should do about this. Should she pick up and cuss him out while telling him to leave her alone. Or ignore it and pretend like she didn't know the number and maybe he'd think he'd been given bad information and just stop calling her. Whatever she did though she knew she couldn't handle this. When she heard the knock on her door she let out a breath she hadn't even realized she'd been holding in and went to answer it smiling when she saw Carlos, or Juice, or whatever people called him nowadays. "Hey." She said hoping she didn't sound to freaked out or anything, because she didn't want him to worry about her more than he probably already was.

"Thanks." Jax said smiling at Carter when she gave him a beer. And then he turned his head back to Thomas for a moment and watched the little man clean himself up. Jax could just tell that he was a smart kid and of course that he was going to bring a lot of happiness into his life. When he heard Carter talk though he pulled himself away from paying so much attention to the kid and focused on her. "Everything's been good. Well good in a matter of speaking. Business at the garage is flourishing, there're some club matters that are causing a bit of tension, but that's nothing to worry too much about. How've everything been with you?"

Juice stared at her a second, "Are you alright?" He questioned her knowing that tone. It sounded like she was scared. He took her into his arms and held onto her, "Riles, what's wrong?" He asked concerned for her. He'd never seen her like this before. Never. He pulled back staring down at her.

Carter smiled at Jax shrugging, "Ok for the most part." She told him honestly and looked at Thomas seeing him cleaning himself up. She turned and looked at Jax and smiled, "That's good to hear the garage is doing good, and the club matters are nothing to worry too much about." She smiled a small smile at him.

"He got my new number." Riley finally said biting her lip. "And if he can get my number it's only matter of time before he figures out where I am and comes to get me." She added terrified that that really was what would happen. Which of course should be enough to put anyone on edge a little. She didn't want him to find her, she'd clearly ran away from him for a reason. Hell for all she knew he could already be halfway here by now. He could be flying in tonight and be at her door by morning breaking it down ready to drag her kicking and screaming back to where he thought she belonged. And of course she knew that he'd only be more pissed off if he saw that Carlos was here and actually recognized him.

"Good to hear." Jax said glad everything was going well with her too. "Yea no matter what happens to the club I'll make sure it doesn't blow back on you or him." Jax told her looking between the both of them. He knew that sometimes club business could get a little out of control, he also knew that if the little bit of tension that was already forming in the club between him and Clay got a lot worse then who really knew what would happen. What Jax did know for sure though was that he wouldn't let anything that happened with the club blow back on his family. Even if he wasn't married to Carter and as of right now she was just the mother of his child and nothing more relationship wise. He still wasn't going to let anything happen to her.

Juice looked at her and walked inside with her in his arms as he shut the door. He looked around seeing the couch as he walked her over to it and helped her to sit down. "Trust me, he won't get near you." He assured her. He kept her close petting her head lightly. "I promise I am not leaving you, or letting this bastard near you, Riles." He whispered to her.

Carter nodded her head at Jax and smiled, "Good to know." She smiled at him as she took and looked at Thomas. She ruffled his hear a little getting up and cleaning up a little as she stuck some of the dishes into the dishwasher, "I know you want to be a part of his life." Carter turned and looked at Jax and smiled. "I want you to be too." She said as she got Thomas out of his high chair and let him go into the living room to play. "Tomorrow I have an interview at St. Thomas Hospital for a doctoring position there. Do you want to come over and be with Thomas?" Carter offered Jax as she smiled lightly.

Riley let her head lean on his shoulder while he tried to calm her down. And she didn't know how he could be so calm about this when she was freaking out. Once she'd calmed down some she nodded her head understanding what he was telling her. And she was just gonna let herself believe him. She trusted Carlos after all, she probably wouldn't have let him into her house or this close to her in general if she didn't still trust him even after years of not seeing one another. "Will you stay with me tonight?" She asked him. Yes she'd heard him say he wasn't leaving her, but that could have different meanings. And really she wasn't sure if she felt safe staying alone all night in her house.

"Yea." Jax said not even having to think about it. He didn't really care what he might've had planned for the following day. He was being given the chance to spend time with his son and he was going to take it. He might even call Chibs or someone else to come with him just so he could show off his son to them. They were all his family too and he wanted them to be a part of his son's life as well. And he might as well start getting everyone used to Thomas and getting Thomas used to everyone while he could. "You wouldn't mind if Chibs or something came along would you? I just want him to be familiar with everyone you know since they're all like family and all." He asked figuring even though he was the dad that he should ask just in case.

Juice nodded his head and smiled at her, "As long as you want me here. I'll be here." He told her keeping her in his arms. He rubbed her back lightly. He knew she was shaken up by it and he was going to track this prick down and literally let Happy get happy with him and murder the son of a bitch.

Carter shook her head, "Jax I don't mind one bit. Their family after all." Carter smiled lightly at Jax as she watched Thomas come back with his toys. She giggled lightly watching the two year old throw a ball at Jax's head as she held her hand over her mouth, "I think someone wants to play." She smiled at Jax.

"Thank you." Riley told him glad he was here. He was the only person she really knew around here anyways which put her at ease a little because she knew she could trust him. She knew he'd do whatever he could to keep her safe and she didn't feel like she had to worry as much when he was around. Even though she'd only just ran into him this morning. Honestly Riley wasn't sure what she'd do if she hadn't ran into him, or if he wasn't there right now. She'd probably be to scared to ever leave this house again. "So what's in the bag?"

Jax smiled at her glad she understood and didn't mind him being around the rest of the club. Though he figured she'd understand since not only was he a member but so was her dad and her brother. It actually did run in her family but he supposed he hadn't really been thinking about that when he'd brought it up. He turned to look at Thomas though when the boy threw the ball at his head. "Oh you wanna play do ya little man?" Jax asked trying not to laugh as he picked up the ball then tossed it back to Thomas.

Juice looked down at her and smiled, "Junk food. Some movies I remembered you liking." He smiled at her keeping her close. He took and slipped his cuts off and laid them on the side table and smiled at her. He got comfy with her and held her close in his arms. He wasn't going to let this punk harm her again. "You're welcome, Riles. You don't have to thank me though. I want to protect you." He said lightly to her cupping her cheek.

Carter laughed lightly watching them as she smiled. She finished cleaning up as she wiped her hands off. She saw Thomas getting tired as she walked to Jax putting her hand on his shoulder, "Thank you for coming." She smiled at him as she saw Thomas fall onto his butt yawning. "I know you've missed a lot. And I want nothing more than you to be with him every minute you can." She smiled at Jax. "It's almost bedtime for him. You want to put him to bed?" Carter asked.
