James smirked a little and shook his head, crossing his arms. "Is there? I don't see any better way to pay off a debt!" He said and then shook her head. He wasn't letting this go.

Addie pouted, gasping as he got closer to her, shaking her head. She was caught off guard with him this close and she shook her head. "Maybe I don't wanna be! We're not compatible. You're not going to control me!"

"You're happy about this." The girl said decidedly and coldly, her light eyes becoming stony. He thought it was funny, her future and freedom being stolen from her.

"We don't have to be compatible. I don't want to be either, and I'm not trying to control you! You're drunk!" He didn't even know why he bothered trying to reason with the intoxicated girl.

James smirked a little and shrugged, shaking his head. "I didn't say that... I just... He had no answers - because he didn't know how to explain it. Maybe he wanted to be happy for once.

Addie rolled her eyes lightly and shook her head, looking away. "Shut up - I know younger the thought of trying to control me. Why? I will not be controlled!" She said seriously.

"You just don't have to say it." She finished for him, rolling her eyes and getting up to pad barefoot into the kitchen. She returned with a wine cooler, some fruity drink with just enough alcohol to give off a buzz.

"Fine. Stay in the back room, then. But don't get pissed at me when you sober up." She was uncooperative in his efforts to help her, and so he dropped his arms and strode back out.

James frowned and shook his head. Come on - don't be like that! Did she expect him to hate this? Like having a girl that would love him after all of the pain he dealt with all the time? No. He wouldn't mind.

Addie pouted a little and crossed her arms. Like I said - just because you're cute doesn't mean I'm going to just fall over and worship you. I won't! She said, falling to the ground when he let her go.

"I had a future before all of this happened, you know. You just happened to be on the better end of the bargain, but you have no clue." She opened the drink and took a sip, setting it on the table beside her.

The man rolled his eyes and shut the door, checking to make sure there wasn't anything there that she could hurt herself with, and then locking it behind him.

James chuckled a little and crossed his arms. "Better end of the bargain? Yeah - putting up with your bitching can be so much better." He said, rolling his eyes to her.

Addie pouted a little and laid down on the ground, not being able to move. She curled up on the floor and closed her eyes. I hate you, Jackson." She pouted.

"You don't have to listen to it and I'm not bitching." A wave of anger welled up in her and she almost wanted to throw the bottle at him and tell him to get it, but she swallowed another sip and maintained some sort of control.

The man finished off his shift and came back for her later, finding her curled up on the floor. Typical drunk behavior. "Rise and shine, Addie. The bar's closing and you gotta go."

James rolled his eyes. "you are too bitching! You don't like me and I hate that you don't!" He said angrily and shook his head, crossing his arms unhappily.

Addie roamed a little as he woke her up and she shook her head, rolling over. "No shut up - I'm not going anywhere with you! I would never go anywhere with you!"

"Then I just won't talk to you, how about that?" The girl said calmly, taking another sip and eyeing him warily. He hated that she didn't like him, but didn't seem to be trying too hard to change it. But could he? She didn't like him regardless, because of the situation and not because of anything he'd done.

"I don't want you to come anywhere with me. I want you to get out of the storage room and go home." She couldn't sleep in their storage room all night, for Christ's sake.

James growled a little and shook his head. He sat back down and crossed his arms, shaking his head. "Why not? If that's what you want - do it, I'm not going to stop you."

Addie pouted and tried to stand, slipping a little and falling into him until he finally caught her. "I don't want to go anywhere. I'm sleepy!" She protested with a pout.

He couldn't stop her, which made his saying so kind of funny. But laughing fell into the talking category, so she merely shrugged and tipped the drink back again. He must've been desperate for a place to stay if he was putting up with her, if he really was that angry.

"Okay, well, go home. You can't sleep here. Bad things happen here. Spooky." He figured it'd appeal to her drunk mind. Nothing happened there at night, except, rarely, a burglary attempt: some alcoholic trying to get a stash.

James rolled his eyes as he groaned unhappily. "Why in the hell are you so unbearable sometimes?! I mean, seriously - I'm not a bad guy - I don't know why you have to see me as such!"

Addie sat up, scared. Right - she was in his territory, brutal territory and she didn't know what to think. "But... But... I don't even know how to get home right now." She said in a drunk tone, shaking her head.

"Maybe you're not, but the circumstances are bad and so is your father." He, however, chose to see her as unbearable. "I'm not a bad girl." She just wasn't exactly ecstatic about having to marry him to pay a debt.

The man let out a long sigh. "I'd walk you home, but you want nothing to do with me, right?" She couldn't complain about him and about not knowing how to get home. She'd have to put up with one.

James sighed a little and shook his head. "Yeah, I know you're no bad girl... Maybe you can even me out.. Or... You know what - forget it. I should just go." He stood, annoyed.

Addie pouted a little and crossed her arms, shaking her head. "Ughhhh, why do you have to be so annoying?! Walk me home!" She demanded of him, shaking her head unhappily.

"No—Stay." She didn't want him out if he had no place to be. Maybe staying at her place would do him some sort of good. "I'm sorry. It's whatever."

She couldn't make up her mind. He'd offered to take her home earlier and she'd yelled at him. "Let's go, then." He offered her his arm, confident she'd need it to walk somewhat normally.

James rolled his eyes and shook his head. "it's not whatever - it's obvious that you don't like me. I just don't understand why." he said angrily.

Addie pouted a little and tried to walk by herself but fell right into his arms, stumbling into him. Keep your hands to yourself. She said as she clung to him, even hating this while she was drunk.

"It's not you. It's the situation." The girl said simply, setting her drink down on the table and leaning back against the couch cushions.

"Right. Sorry, I'm falling all over you." He hated his morals, and the feeling he got when he thought about just leaving her there. He couldn't.

James sighed and shook his head. "Well suck it up cream puff - you might as well start to accept it." He said seriously, shaking his head.

Addie pouted and nodded. "You try anything and I will never ever let anything of this stupid marriage proposal come to be." She threatened, shaking her head unhappily.

"I'm not accepting anything as long as you're still saying things like, 'Suck it up, cream puff.'" The girl said defiantly.

The man let out a barking laugh. "Oh, Addie, don't flatter yourself. I could have any girl that comes to this bar. Why would I bother trying anything with you? And fine. Don't let it come to be. If you can manage to get yourself out, you have my encouragement."
