James smiled a little as she took everything in. "Do you like it?" He asked with a smile and then chuckled. I can show you my room too... It's right up here." He said as he led her to the door happily.

Addie frowned a little and shook her head. She saw the girl blow a kiss to him and she grimaced. "Really? How much of a douchebag do you have to be?!" She asked in annoyance. Her friend approached him then. "Really - tell me what's with you. I don't get the hatred."

He was happy, somethig she didn't often see in Northern men. "Yeah, I like it." She followed him up the stairs to his room, and once inside, turned in a slow circle. "It's nice."

Kraemer glanced down at Adelaide's friend, shrugging neutrally. "I've tried to be nice to her, but all she does is preach about how I'm a douchebag, whom she hates. It gets old. I have to have someone to keep me occupied, no?"]/b]

James chuckle a little and nodded his head. "you know... You could stay sometime - if you wanted." He said happily and shook his head.

Addie watched and then looked away. "Maybe you are a douchebag. No, I don't think you do have to occupy yourself. Maybe you're just a jackass.

"I might take you up on that one day." But today was not that day. She needed a few days of sleeping and being alone before she was ready to be with him so long again.

"Maybe you just hate me. There, I said it for you, since that'd probably be the next thing out of your mouth." Nothing he said or did pleased her, and he was beginning to stop caring.

James sighed and nodded his head. "I know jay - I'm sorry." He said and then smiled. "Should I take you home?" He asked her.

Addie rolled her eyes. Her friend stepped between them. "Will you two quit it? You're acting like children with no sense of logic! Get over yourselves - both of you!"

The redhead nodded slowly, returning a closed-lipped smile before turning on her heel and descending the stairs with light footfalls.

"Who are you?" The man snorted, already moving away from the two girls to tend to a spill on the bar. Life would be so much easier if his betrothed was mute.

James smiled and followed her down the stairs, sighing lightly. "You know - I wouldn't mind if you came to visit every once and a while... You know, just so I know you're doing well or something." He stated simply, hoping he didn't sound too desperate.

Her friend rolled her eyes. "I'm Elena - I'm Addie's friend. I don't know what you two have against each other - " because Addie had not informed her of her engagement - "but you two need to knock it off. And whatever you did, I will kill you if you hurt my best friend." She was from the North as well - the only Northerner that Addie could tolerate.

"I might stop by sometimes." She said breezily, slipping outside and sticking her hands in her pockets. The air had adopted a decent, biting chill since they'd gone inside.

"That wouldn't be in your best interest, Elena, because I'm marrying your precious little Addie." She could try, but he was hardly afraid of the girl's seemingly empty threat.

james smiled and nodded his head. "I know. I would like that cutie." He said with a smile and walked outside with her. "I should walk you back - I wouldn't want you to get hurt."

Addie rolled her eyes and stood up,smacking her hands down on the bar. "You! Shut the fuck up! Leave me the hell alone!" She screamed and Elena gasped. "What the hell are you talking about?"

She found it odd that he openly expressed how much he seemed to think she didn't like him, but yet he still continued to flirt. "Thank you. I feel like that would be a nice idea."

"We're engaged. She doesn't wear the ring because, you know, she hates me. Whatever. It doesn't surprise me she didn't tell you. Some best friend you've got there."

James smiled lightly and leaned into her, nodding. "It would be good for us...since we're going to have to put up with each other eventually anyways.." He smiled.

Elena shook her head. "As in - by choice you're engaged or not? Cuz it seems like you're not really making an effort there either - so I don't think it matters. If you can't make Addie happy, you don't deserve her anyway!" She said to him, crossing her arms.

She inched away slightly, eyeing him carefully. He'd warmed up too quickly to the idea of marriage, and for that, she was suspicious. "Yeah."

"Not by choice, no. And deserve her or not, I've got her, so it hardly matters, you're right." He hadn't planned on having to justify himself to a bestfriend that probably had as much of a talent for getting on his last nerve.

james smiled at her lightly and sighed. "Why are you lookin at me like that?" He asked, shaking his head.

Elena shook his head and frowned. "And you think sleeping with some other girl is so going to help your case?" She asked him, crossing her arms angrily.

"Nothing. Let's go." She didn't want to stand around and dwell on things all day; she had things to do once she got home, like sleep.

"Certainly can't hurt." She'd get jealous. She'd be angry st him regardless, so he figured he might as well make her jealous.

James sighed and shook his head. Alright - maybe someday I'll get you to tell me what you're thinking about in that pretty little head of yours." He said in a malicious chuckle.

Addie wasn't paying attention - or at least, trying not to. She didn't want to get involved with their conversation - it would only hurt her. You think so? I think you're a jackass for it."

"And until then, stop." She said gently, deciding she'd had enough of the flirting for now. Once she reached her door, she paused to tell him goodbye.

"Good thing I don't wake up every morning and wonder what you think about me." He tapped her on the nose and strode off, already warily realizing she'd probably follow.

James signed a little as he heard her words. He kept quiet as they continued to walk. When she turned back, he sighed. "Why stop? What's wrong with a little flirting?"

Addie stood to follow to him and Elena pushed her, following him on her own. "Then what's your excuse, huh? She hates you Cuz you're clearly a jackass. Why don't you like Addie?"

"I'm just... not ready for it. Sorry. I'll see you sometime." She turned the lock and opened the door, pausing to give him a soft smile before shutting the door behind her.

"Leave. Now. Or I'll call security on both of you." The man said firmly, already moving to put his hand on the button behind the counter. He was becoming angry with the two for their constant harassment.
