Alexander followed her, and leaned in the doorway of the kitchen. "I'm actually not truly hungry, so I think I'm going to try to get some sleep tonight. Although, I do have a proposition for you. If you want food to take with you when you leave, you can take as much as you can carry- as long as you go with me on a run to get more. There is a small store nearby that might have some things left worth salvaging. Come with me, and you're welcome to as much as your heart desires."

Amber was grabbing food from the cupboards, but suddenly stopped when he offered her the deal. She closed the door for a moment, turning to the doorway where he was. It was a very tempting offer, especially since it was too often that she had to go without eating for a day. As much as it happened Amber still was not used to having an empty stomach some days and a full one the next. "How dangerous is it?" She asked him, a hand moving onto her hip. As long as it wasn't some kind of suicide mission Amber was willing.

"It all depends on the day to be completely honest. I've scouted it out, and some days there's about five or so- other days there's about fifteen or twenty. We can scout it out tomorrow and make the call of whether or not to hit it then. Does that sound okay?"

"As long as there are not too many of them there I will help you." Amber told him before turning back to the cupboard and pulling out some things to eat for dinner. "Food is good but staying alive is better." She was not afraid of having to deal with five or six of them. That was just something that had to be expected, especially when in a town. Though Amber had no interest in trying to stay away from fifteen or twenty, even with another person there. It was much too easy to get surrounded with that many.

"Alright, that sounds alright then. Do you know how to run along rooftops? Because that is the best and easiest way to get to the vantage point and see how many are down there," Alexander said, raising an eyebrow at her as he cracked his knuckles, and let out a yawn.

"Yes I know how to do that. I had to learn while staying with this large group. They called themselves a pack." Amber let out a small laugh. "Any new people that showed up were called pups until considered part of their family...Anyways I know how to run atop roofs." Amber took the food and sat down at the table before beginning to eat.

"Okay. Well, I think that I am going to head to bed, then. Help yourself to whatever you need tonight. I'll be in my room. Knock on the door really hard if you need me- I'll probably wake up to the knock if you do it loudly enough," Alexander said, yawning again, and cracking his neck before straightening himself, and waving. "Goodnight and sweet dreams," he said, disappearing back into the hall. A moment later, the sound of a closing down could be heard from the kitchen, as well as the fiddling with some locks and bolts from behind the door.

Amber went back to eating her food once Alexander had left her. After a while she finally finished up and cleaned up the small mess that she had made. She headed to where he had said that her room was earlier, going into the bedroom and locking up the door with all of the bolts behind her. Soon she was laying in bed, fast asleep. It was not hard to get a goodnight sleep on an actual bed.

It was in the middle of the night, though- when they were both fast asleep, that suddenly screaming erupted from Alexander's room, as if it was bloodcurdling. It was obvious it was Alexander, but there was no indication as to why...

Amber jumped out of bed the moment she heard screaming. She grabbed her bag, threw it on before pulling out her gun and taking it off safety. After taking a few seconds to look around her own room, Amber opened up the door and peered out. Once she was sure that the hallway was safe Amber made her way down the hall, looking in the rooms she passed for any signs of danger. It wasn't long until she was in front of Alexander's door. First she pressed an ear against the door, trying to get any idea of what could be going on but all she could was his screaming. Then she tried pulling on the knob, which of course was locked. "Alexander!" She yelled in before banging on the door. "What's going on in there!"

Upon the sounds of Amber yelling, the screaming abruptly stopped. There was the sound of shuffling from behind the door, and then there was the sound of metal clanking as the bolts were all undone, and the door swung open. There Alexander was, shirtless, and coated in sweat. He looked at her groggily, and said," What's wrong? Did they get upstairs?!"

"I don't know did they get upstairs?!" Amber panicked as she held onto her gun tighter. She swiftly moved past him and began to look around his room, trying to find some sign of danger. When it seemed that there was nothing in the room, Amber went over to the closet, gun pointed up as she threw the door open, once again seeing nothing. Then she turned to Alexander with a bewildered look. "What was going on in here? Why were you screaming?" She said as she went to the window and looked out and around. There were walkers down on the ground but that was about it. Too far away for him to be screaming about it!

"What do you mean I was screaming?!" He exclaimed, confused. He looked around, and then wiped the perspiration off of his forehead. He then had a light bulb go off in his head, and he said," Oh my gosh... I'm really, really sorry Amber. I was having a nightmare, and I guess that it just caused me to scream in my sleep rather than just talking in my sleep. I'm sorry- but no one has ever spent the night here since..." He froze, then, and then recovered by saying," In a long time. So no one has been able to tell me I was actually screaming in my sleep..."

Amber let out a small sigh of relief as she holstered her gun. "It's alright. I'm going to head back to sleep now." She walked by him, giving Alrxander a small pat on the back as she did so. "Well at least now you know how safe this place is if you make that much noise and they can't get in...Try and get some sleep Alex." Amber then headed out of his room, moving back to her own.

Alexander sighed, now a bit mad at himself for waking up Amber with her screaming, making her fear as though those mongrels had gotten into the apartment, and were threatening the both of them. But he also felt guilty because he thought that his screaming might ACTUALLY endanger them, by drawing people into the apartment to raid, or even give the mongrels much more motivation to break through the barricades and reach the top floor... So, he went off into the kitchen, and grabbed a roll of duct tape from a drawer, before retiring to bed once more. But, before he fell asleep, he made sure to put a large strip over his mouth before drifting off...

Amber fell back to sleep with ease, almost completely asleep the moment her head hot he pillow. In the morning she moved out of bed and headed out, making her way to the kitchen. Her hair was out of place, turning almost troll like but otherwise she looked like an actual human being. She let out a small yawn while she began to pull some food out of the cupboard. Amber had gotten a great night's sleep and because of it she needed a few minutes to actually wake up.

Alexander arose quietly, and tore the duct tape off of his mouth with a hush help before he actually laughed at himself. He tossed the used strip muaside, and then got up and stretched vigorously to warm up his muscles for the possibility of having to do the run with Amber later. Once he was fully stretched, he walked over and left his room to go out to the kitchen for breakfast, offering a peppy," Good morning!" To her as he passed and headed for the cabinets.

"Good morning." Amber said softly as she leaned back into her chair, continuing to munch on the toast in front of her. She was slowly beginning to wake up fully and now that Alexander had walked into the room her eyes opened up a bit more. After a few more minutes of sleepiness, Amber rubbed her face, stretched out her arms and then turned to him. "You seem to be in a rather good mood this morning. Any particular reason why?" She asked him, wanting to know if something interesting had happened.

Alexander chuckled, and said," I'm alive. Every morning I wake up, it just means that I am alive for that much longer. I don't question it as to whether or not it is actually a good thing to be alive during this time, I just believe that it is. So, that's just why I wake up every day with a smile on my face." He then grabbed some food out of the cupboard, and headed over to the table with it and sat down across from her, beginning to eat as well.

Amber turned her head to the side a little, thinking about what he said before a small smile came on her face. "Well I suppose that is a good way to see things." She told him before finishing up her food. Once she was done, Amber began to clean up her plate and her spot. "What time would you like to head over and look at the store." She asked as she turned and leaned back against the counter. Amber did not know if she was going to leave today or wait a little longer, it really depended on when they were grabbing the food and what the walkers were like outside.
