Destiny Is a Funny Thing

Mikkie sighed softly as Laila came out and spoke to Chris, before retreating back to her room. He turned to Chris, "please just go in the other room, I'll talk to her," he said gently. He waited until Chris left, before knocking on the door, "Laila, I'm coming in," he said softly as he opened the door slowly.

Chris nodded to Mikkie, he was freaking out, and was in way over his head. He figured he'd let Mikkie talk to her, and try to figure out something.

Laila didn't look up as Mikkie came into their room. She had nothing more to say. She had to figure it out and that was all. She didn't know what to do. Mikkie she knew would support her in anyway he could and that was all she could ask of him. Laila had nothing to say to Mikkie because all she would do is apologize to him because he was there for her and had to be in this situation with her. She was his, he should know that this child was his. And she should have been taking birth control but she hadn't even been thinking about it, like it could never happen to her.

Mikkie walked over to her, "Laila, please don't worry, we'll get through this," he said gently. He placed his hand on her arm, "I'll go talk to Chris, and try to figure out how we'll deal with this. He moved to face her properly, "We'll be outside, when you're ready to come out, I made your favourite for dinner," he said softly. He smiled weakly, "take your time," he told her before standing up and heading out to talk to Chris.

Chris looked up as Mikkie came out, "What are we going to do?" he asked Mikkie. Mikkie looked at him, "well we both are just going to have to be there for her, until we figure out whose the father, then I suppose it's up to you whether you'll stick around if it's not yours," he said calmly.

Laila shook her head. "I'm not hungry." she mumbled and rolled over. She waited until Mikkie left then let herself cry some more until she fell asleep. She didn't want to think anymore about it. She didn't want to deal with all of this. Why was this happening to her? It wasn't her fault she got raped. She had been doing the cosmic right thing and now karma was biting her back for no reason. Laila didn't know how she was going to get through this now.

Mikkie sat with Chris for awhile talking with him. He decided after awhile of Laila, not coming back out, it was safe to send him home. He smiled weakly, "you should probably head home Chris, come around after class tomorrow, and we'll discuss the situation again.

Chris sighed too worried to go home. "Man can I just crash here?" he asked. "You guys got that spare room now right?" he asked. If he left and came back and she was still upset with him. What if it was his kid? He couldn't just let her keep him out of his own kids life because he was afraid. He would see if he could stay and in the morning maybe they could talk some more. He really wanted a dan test and would be doing some research on it but he knew he had to wait a while anyways. He would talk to his lawyer dad and see what he had rights to.

Mikkie blinked for a moment, "Oh shit, that's right," he admitted. He nodded lightly, "yeah, feel free to stay the night, we'll try figure things out in the morning," he said lightly. He moved to the kitchen pulling out the food that was cooking, "Might as well, have something to eat, if you're hungry," he said.

Mikkie was good at putting on a show, it almost seemed like he wasn't upset in the least. That he was just confused about the situation like Chris; but inside Mikkie was in pain, he'd planned on spending tonight with Laila, and being close with her, and was even more upset that she was potentially going to have a child with Chris, although he blamed solely Chris for that situation.

Laila rolled over blinking her half asleep eyes open as Mikkie came in and she smiled softly then frowned like she had forgot in her sleep then remembered she had hurt him. Laila pulled back the sheets for him. "Please some to bed." she whispered and reached her hand out touching his pillow. She wanted to curl up in his arms and forget everything that was going on.

Chris ended up eating can cleaning up then heading to the other bedroom. He crashed into the bed and fell asleep. He would have to deal with it all tomorrow.

Mikkie smiled softly, and climbed into the bed with her. He put his arms around her, "how are feeling hun?" he asked quietly. He cuddled up with her, "Chris is crashing in the spare room," he said quietly. He didn't know what Laila needed right now, and wished she tell him.

Laila frowned and sighed snuggling into him. She closed her eyes again. "I'm just really tired now." she whispered ignoring the fact that Chris was still here. She wished for some much different right now but there was nothing left to do tonight. She sighed. "Just hold me until I fall asleep again?" she asked softly.

Mikkie nodded lightly, he kissed her cheek. "Okay, please don't worry about anything, I love you, and I'll love our kid, no matter what," he said softly.

Laila frowned as he mentioned the baby. She was glad he was so supportive about this all but she really didn't want to think about it anymore tonight. She nodded and kissed his cheek before resting against him and finally falling asleep.

Mikkie noticed her small frown and held her close. He let her drift off to sleep in silence. Mikkie was still upset, that their anniversary had gone so poorly, and was confused about how this whole situation would affect their lives. He spent most of the night, awake and thinking.

Laila woke the next morning. She looked at Mikkie and frowned. He didn't look like he slept at all. She rolled over and cupped his cheek. "Good morning." she whispered her hands cupping his cheeks and she pecked his lips gently.

Mikkie smiled weakly, "Morning beautiful," he said lightly. He kissed her back, "how did you sleep?" he asked gently.

Laila smiled softly. "I slept through the night with is more than I can say for you. What happened?" she asked him. Laila was going to be sure to make him sleep more today. Looked like they where skipping school again..

Mikkie nodded lightly, "I was just busy thinking," he said softly. He pulled her close, "I just want you to be happy, so please know, whatever you decide to do, I support you," he said lightly.

Chris woke up at his normal time, and headed for the bathroom to shower. He was then hoping Laila would be up and about to talk to about everything.

Laila frowned and shook her head. "You should have gotten some sleep." she said and kissed him softly. She knew she was going to have to make up their university to him, that wasn't fair to him at all. He held her close and smiled softly at his words. She cupped his cheek and nodded. "Thank you Mikkie." she said softly. "Come on let's get dressed and talk with Chris before he goes to school." she said. "You sir need to sleep after that." she said insisting.

Mikkie smiled softly, and climbed out of bed. "Sounds good lets, get going," he said lightly. He moved over to the wardrobe and got dressed in his usual outfit, before turning back to her. "Come on lets see what he wants to do," he said lightly.

Laila nodded and got up dressing. She sighed and headed out to the kitchen making some tea and starting to make some eggs. She grinned softly at Mikkie. "I will have to make up yesterday to you. I know it wasn't what you where hoping." she said softly.
