"I don't know," Zacky mumbled. "Because I'm stubborn? Because I'm stupid? I'm sure the list goes on."

"I never told my friends we broke up," Annabelle admitted. "I knew they'd bitch at me for leaving you. Sometimes I think my friends like you better than they like me."

Zacky shook his head. "That's not true," he said. "Your friends love you."

"They love you more."

"I doubt that," Zacky said.

"Think what you want Zack but all they do lately is ask about you."

"I haven't been around, that's why," Zacky said.

"They used to ask even when it was a day since they hadn't seen you," Annabelle replied.

Zacky nodded his head. "Sorry," he said.

"Just goes to prove yet again everyone likes you more," she mumbled.

Zacky frowned. "That's not true at all," he said.

"The dogs liked you more, my friends like you more," Annabelle listed. "Fuck even my parents like you more than me."

Zacky frowned, grabbing her hand. "I liked you more than everyone."

"Because the only thing I'm good at is opening my legs."

"That's not true," Zacky said, standing up and looking down at her. "You are one of the most beautiful, most talented women I've ever met. You're strong-willed, you stand up for yourself, you take pride in the things you do, you're confident, and you don't let anyone fuck with you. And that's what I loved about you. I still do."

"Then why did I get fired today," she snapped. "If I'm so great than why the fuck am I going to be broke soon."

"Because your boss is a dick," Zacky said. "Which is another reason I wanted you to work with me."

Annabelle shook her head, walking away from Zacky and straight out of the bar.

Zacky sat back down and continued to drink, knowing it was pointless to chase after her. She never listened to him.

Annabelle ended up sitting outside, smoking an entire pack of cigarettes before the bar finally closed. Her friends were long gone and she honestly didn't care. She was miserable and no one likes a buzz kill when you're drunk like they were.
