Oh Bite Me.

It was one of Amelia's lazy days - likely because she was returning to Mystic Falls with her friend Charlotte. Though the last thing that the girl wanted to do was to return to the town that caused her more pain and agony than anything else in her entire undead life, she knew it was probably about time to head back. At least everybody she knew in the past was dead - well, hopefully, anyways. No need to bring up painful memories when Mystic Falls would provide enough of that itself. Sighing, she kept her attention on the road as she drove before she glanced over at her friend for a moment. "I don't know if we've ever talked about it, but have you ever been to Mystic Falls?" she asked as she saw the Welcome to Mystic Falls sign not too far up ahead. Anticipation welled up inside of her, but she tried to force it away.

Mystic Falls was likely always a cesspool of supernatural creatures. The fact that Klaus was there now, too, didn't really help with everything, but it wasn't as though it bothered the original much. On the track of breaking his hybrid curse, the man was more than ready to be rid of the hybrid curse at last. Everything was ready and in place - he just had to wait for the right time to go through with it, but that time wasn't quite yet. There were still a few days left for that final set of events. Hopefully, things would go over without a hitch - then, he could be the hybrid that he was always meant to be and he could turn other werewolves into hybrids as well. He was a little anxious for it all, but, mostly, he was excited and eager - something that was rarely seen unless he was in the middle of a hunt for a good meal, ready to feed and such.

Charlotte, Charlie to her friends, looked over at Amelia and shook her head, "Can't say I have. After everything that went down in New Orleans I went straight back home to New York and lived there ever since. Well besides traveling to other countries a few times every decade just so people didn't catch on to the fact that I was in New York still." She replied. Talking about New Orleans made her frown and think of Klaus and Elijah and Rebeckah, but mostly Klaus. She still couldn't believe he just left without her. She was best friends with the Originals and she thought of them all as her own siblings, except for Klaus. No she had been madly in love with Klaus. She had only been in New Orleans for a year but in that year she fell hard for him and, of course, being the stupid person she was, she never told him. Then he left. Along with Rebeckah and Elijah, leaving her with nothing and no one.

Damon paced around his house as he thought about what he was going to do. He needed to stop Klaus before he broke the curse. Nobody was any help to him and he didn't want to work together with anyone else because the only way he could think to save Elena would be to turn her. But there is no way anyone in their little circle of friends in Mystic Falls would let him. So they were going to try and figure out a way to get around her being a sacrifice to Klaus in order to break his curse. Eventually, Damon got tired of pacing and he went down to the grill to get a drink. He needed to be out of the house and away from everyone not thinking of a smarter plan than his. It was kind of times like these that he missed the old days in Mystic Falls when he wasn't a vampire.

Amelia nodded slowly in understanding, but eventually let out a quiet sigh. "I never thought I'd come back here," she murmured honestly. Mystic Falls was a curse, a torture. She had previously been in an arranged engagement with Damon Salvatore of all people. Though it wasn't a problem in itself, to her, she had actually ended up falling for him - and, then he had broken her by choosing Katherine. Pearl had turned her sometime after and she had fled the town without a word when the vampires were gathered to be killed. Pulling herself out of her thoughts, she blinked when she saw buildings pass and she glanced at them occasionally. "Do you want to stop somewhere or should we go straight to the home we got?"

Though Klaus had a chance to have some downtime, he was growing bored. With his plans coming together, there wasn't much for him to do, after all. So, leaving his home, he slipped his hands into his pockets and glanced around on occasion to see if he could spot anybody to feed from. Though he wasn't actually hungry, he needed something to keep him occupied. Perhaps he could just go and get a little drunk? It wouldn't be the first time - and, The Grill wasn't far away. Plus it was a place that Elena and her dear friends seemed to frequent often, so perhaps he could taunt the group a bit. It seemed like a fun idea, but it wasn't necessary. At least the Grill would provide a distraction, so that was where he headed.

Charlie frowned at Amelia's words, knowing of her past with Mystic Falls. Charlie would feel the same way if she were to ever return to New Orleans without Klaus, "Can we stop for a bite to eat or a drink." She smiled to herself at the irony that the two basically went hand in hand with each other, "I'm not hungry actually. Let's just stop for a drink before we head to the house." She added. Charlie looked out the window and watched the people walking down the streets with their friends or families. She looked up in front of them and saw a little place called The Grill and she pointed it out to Amelia, "How about there? It looks like a fairly okay place." She said with a smile.

Damon ordered a drink from the bartender and then watched as he filled up Damon's glass and walked away. Damon quickly started to drink as he stared ahead of him, like normal. He was used to drinking alone but it was awkward since Alaric had recently became his drinking buddy before Klaus took over Alaric's body. Damon sighed and shook her bead before he took another sip of his drink. He thought back to his plan to turn Elena before Klaus's sacrifice but then he kept hearing Stefan's words in his head that she would never forgive Damon if he did it. Nobody understood that it was most likely the only way to save Elena's life from this and everyone kept looking at him like he was the bad guy when he suggested it.

Amelia's eyes rested on The Grill and she nodded slightly. "Alright, sure," she decided with a small smile. At least it wasn't a place that she recognized - though she couldn't recall if, back when she lived in Mystic Falls, this place had been something else. Probably not. It didn't matter. Moving to park the car, she turned the ignition off and grinned at her friend. "Let's go, then. It might be a nice change of pace to see what this place is like." Plus, it might distract her a bit. Hopefully, anyways. If she could experience new things in new places, she might be able to ignore her own past. Climbing out of the car, she made her way inside first.

Klaus could see The Grill up ahead, though he soon spotted a car parking in front of it that he didn't recognize. Brows furrowing, he eyed it with confusion and tried to get a better look, though the windows were tinted. It didn't change the way he could see, though, and, after a few moments, he recognized the person in the passenger seat. Eyes widening, it was difficult for him to believe that Charlie would show up here of all places. Why would she ever come to Mystic Falls? It didn't make sense; from what he had known about her back in New Orleans, she hadn't even had any knowledge of the place, much less any reason to come there.

Charlie smiled and got out of the car. She stretched as soon as she was out, being in a car for more than two hours will kill you that way. Charlie looked around the town before her eyes stopped and she felt frozen to the spot. She couldn't believe was she was seeing before her, it was him. Her Klaus. He was here. Seeing him alive made her feel so happy but she also felt the rage boiling up inside her, "Amelia hold on one second. I'll meet you inside." She stated before she stalked off over towards Klaus, her eyes narrowed as she looked at him. When she reached him the happy side of her wanted to throw her arms around him and hug him but the angry side of her took over and she felt the sting in her hand before she realized that she had just smacked him. Her eyes started to water and she forced herself to blink back the tears.

Damon turned on his bar stool and had his drink in his hand, he looked out the glass windows of the bar and he watched as two girls got out of the car. He didn't recognized the first girl he saw but his eyes widened when they landed on the driver, "Amelia." He said to himself before he watched as her friend walked away and left Amelia at the car. How the hell was she here? She was supposed to be dead. Of course there was only one explanation to that and it was obvious she was a vampire but he was confused as to how she didn't get thrown in the tomb with everyone else.

Amelia blinked, surprised with her friend's words, but nodded. "Okay. I'll be inside, then," she said quietly. She stayed there long enough to see Charlie approach a man and she couldn't help but to be a little confused. Did Charlie know him? Shaking the thought away, she hoped her friend would be okay and turned to head into The Grill. She glanced around, just for a moment, when she got inside, and mentally debated whether she should sit down or wait for her friend. She didn't have time to process the thought, though, because she spotted Damon and she couldn't help but to stare.

Though Klaus knew that he probably deserved that, he still couldn't help but to clench his jaw in slight anger. He closed his eyes for a moment and waited for the momentary pain to ebb away before he focused on getting rid of his anger. "That wasn't a very good hello, love," he told her once he had composed himself. Letting his eyes rest on her, he couldn't help but to let his confusion show, despite himself. "Why are you here, Charlie?" At that moment, he could feel a ball of concern well inside him. If Elena's friends discovered how much he adored this woman, they would go after her and use her against him, he was sure.

Back in 1918, Charlie might have thought he little joke was cute and adorable and she might have actually giggled but not today. She had almost a century to reflect and to grow, "What am I doing here?! What the hell are you doing here, Niklaus?!" She practically screamed. Charlie was shocked though, it was almost kind of like old times to where she would only call Klaus by his given name when she was serious, "Are you shocked to see me? Because you know I am still alive, thank you for your concern. You know after I was almost burned to death in New Orleans by your father! You didn't even look for me. You just left!" She couldn't believe she was actually standing here, talking to him. It had been so long since she had last seen Klaus or any of the Originals but she thought about them and him every single day.

Damon watched as Amelia walked inside and looked around for a place to sit before she stopped when her eyes landed on him. He looked over up and down and still couldn't believe she was standing there, in the Grill, in Mystic Falls. A place where they both would have had a home and a life together. Damon wouldn't admit it aloud but he felt so guilty for picking Katherine over Amelia. He regretted it all the time because it was now that he realized what a terrible bitch Katherine was and he would have been so much better off with Amelia. But then of course if it wasn't for Katherine, Damon wouldn't be a vampire and neither would Stefan, "Are we just going to stare at each other or are you going to come scream at me?" He asked but then realized that she might not hate him. It had been a long time since he picked Katherine and maybe Amelia wasn't angry anymore. Damon would still be angry at himself but he held grudges longer than he should and Amelia was always a nicer person than he.

"I was certain you were alive the entire time, anyways, Charlie," Klaus said tersely, his tone reflecting how tense he felt. He understood her anger - that didn't mean that he felt that he deserved it. "But, yes, love, I am shocked to see you. I wouldn't expect you to come to Mystic Falls. I, on the other hand, have business here." He wasn't sure it would be a good idea to tell her what business he had, though - not when it would just drag her into his new life all the more and he couldn't afford that, not when it meant that she could get hurt. She was likely the only person that he would bother trying to keep safe. "I left to keep you safe. He was after us - I knew that, if we left, then so would he and you would be safe." And he couldn't take her along, not with how dangerous his father was.

Amelia clenched her fists so tightly that she was almost sure her nails were digging into her skin. "As much as I want to scream at you and claw your heart out of your chest, I'd rather not cause a scene," she answered quietly, eyes narrowing slightly. All of her anger and pain that had built up from him choosing Katherine felt like it was going to pour out of her in droves, but as much as she wanted to hate Damon, she couldn't. Even if he did deserve it, in her eyes. "Fortunately for you, I don't want to cause a scene when I've only just gotten here. A lady has to make a good first impression after all." Plus, as much as Damon deserved her anger and hatred, she knew she wouldn't forgive herself if she actually hurt him in any sort of way.

Charlie ignored the flutter in her heart when he said he wanted to keep her safe. She ran a hand through her hair, "That still doesn't account for the years since then that I didn't even know if you were alive or not. Yeah, yeah I know you're an Original it's practically impossible to kill you. But still, Klaus. I was broken after you three left." I was broken after you left. She wanted to say that but she knew she couldn't. Not now, "I came to Mystic Falls because my friend Amelia came back here and I go everywhere with her. She's been my best friend since the twenties. She was the one that convinced me not to turn off my switch because of how much I miss you and Elijah and Rebeckah." Charlie explained before she sighed and then looked up at him. She still couldn't believe he was here.

Damon frowned at her words, seeing how much he was wrong with thinking that she wouldn't hate him, "May I ask what you're doing here, Amelia? And who turned you? Because last I thought, you should be dead by now but here you are. Looking as young and pretty as the day I met you." He said, not realizing the compliment that came out of his mouth until it was too late. Great that's just what he needed, her thinking that he was complimenting her so she would forgive him. He knew that she had no reason to forgive him and that he totally accepted the fact that she didn't forgive him. Damon was an idiot to pick Katherine over her and he knew that now but then again he wouldn't be alive know if he had picked Amelia over Katherine.

Did she not know how difficult it had been for him to leave her? It was difficult enough for Klaus to accept that he wasn't capable of protecting her from his father, but it almost pained him to know that she might think he was a horrible person. Sure, he didn't carry if everybody else thought he was terrible, but Charlie's opinion of him actually mattered. Looking down at her, he reached out to brush her hair out of her face out of instinct. "I'm sorry, love," he told her and he hoped that she could remember just how difficult and how rare it was for him to apologize for anything. "I can assure you that I wanted to search for you, but it's difficult to find somebody who doesn't stay in one place forever." Plus, he had been so set on finding Katherine and the new doppelganger, too.

Amelia couldn't help but to roll her eyes to his words and she let out a low, frustrated sigh. "Trust me, if I would have known you were here, I wouldn't have stepped foot back in Mystic Falls," she drawled in response, "I came here because I figured it was time to come home for a while. Apparently, that was a bad idea." She gave a pointed look to him, sure that he would understand exactly why she thought it was a bad idea now. "As for who turned me? Pearl did." She still wasn't sure why Pearl had turned her, but it didn't matter much. "And, please keep your fake compliments to yourself. They worked when I was human, but a lot has changed since then."

Charlie blushed when he tucked the hair behind her ear. She looked up at him with wide eyes and then took a breath and looked down at her shoes, taking a step back. She had to remember that she had spent the last ninety two years without him, "What business do you have here?"

Klaus wasn't sure what to feel when she took a step away from him, but he tried not to feel hurt. Instead, he tried to concentrate on her question. "That's a secret, Charlie," he told her quietly, though his lips did upturn in the slightest, almost a smirk but not quite.

"I don't know, she just did," Amelia muttered with a quiet sigh. Running a hand through her hair, she glanced around the place a bit. "Now that those unpleasant formalities of meeting again are over, I just realized that my friend hasn't come inside yet."

Charlie frowned at his words before she pouted, "Please Klaus?" She asked and grinned at him, "You used to tell me everything." Charlie blind up at him before she smiled slightly. Charlie felt weird bring like that with Klaus again. It had been so long. She missed him every day of her life for the part ninety two years and now here he was, and it was almost like he had never left. Except for the fact that she felt broken without him for the longest time. Charlie wouldn't admit it aloud but she was really glad to see him in Mystic Falls.

Damon rolled his eyes slightly, "It's good to see you haven't lost your wit over all these years." He said with a grin before taking a drink and then he nodded, "Yeah I saw that. You want check it out?" He asked before he got off his bar stool, not giving her a chance to answer before he walked towards the exit of the bar and outside. He waited for Amelia to join him outside. When she did he instantly spotted her friend, "What is she doing with Klaus?" He asked Amelia.

"I would tell you, but I'm certain that would only be dangerous for you," Klaus said honestly. It still surprised him, even now, that he was so protective of the girl, that he feared for her life being lost. She was a vampire, yes, but it was still possible to kill her - and he didn't want to lose her, especially now that he had a chance to see her again. "Perhaps I'll tell you another time, when it's safer for you."

"That's Klaus?" Amelia asked quietly with surprise once she was outside with Damon. Her friend had told her about the past, after all. Still, she hadn't expected for her friend to run into him here, of all places. But, then, she realized something. "Wait. You know Klaus?" she said quickly before looking up at Damon with confusion.

Charlie groaned and rolled her eyes at him, "Niklaus I'm not the same girl from 1918. I can take care of myself. I learned everything I know from you and Elijah so I think I'm more than taken care of." She stated to him before she felt her heart flutter again at the fact that he was still protective of her. She smiled up at him slightly, "Though I guess I can put off the subject for the time being." She finally gave in.

"Yes of course I know Klaus. He and his brother Elijah have been making all of our lives here a living hell for the past few months." He stated before he realized the tone of voice she used when he said that was Klaus, "Whoa hang on. How do you know of Klaus? How does she know Klaus? I didn't even know of Klaus until his brother came in and tried to kidnap Elena for Klaus to use in order to break the sun and moon curse."

Klaus was relieved to hear her give in. "Smart girl. Perhaps you listened to Elijah more often than myself," he mentioned lightly before he let out a sigh. "Another time." After everything was over, he figured that he could tell her. He was about to mention that, only to frown when he heard Damon's voice. Glancing over, he quirked a brow. "Ah, Salvatore."

"Perhaps you deserve to have hell for a little while," Amelia hummed out with a small, amused smile. "My friend, Charlie, knew him in the past. I don't know much other than what she's told me about him." She blinked, though, with confusion. "Who's Elena?" She hoped she didn't sound as jealous as she felt. Regardless, it didn't matter, because Klaus noticed them.

Charlie laughed at his words, "Well I was closest with Elijah besides you. I managed to learn a few things." she replied with a grin as she looked up at him. When she heard him say Salvatore she was confused, "What? Salvatore?" she said and looked over towards the grill to see Amelia with a man she hadn't seen before but from how Amelia had described Damon she would've guessed that was him, "Is that Damon?"

Damon was still confused by her words before he noticed her change in tone again and he smiled at her, "She's a Gilbert. She also is a Petrova doppelganger. So in other words she's a Gilbert that looks exactly like Katherine." Damon explained before he pulled on Amelia's arm and tugged her toward Klaus and her friend Charlie.
