Once back at her clothes she quickly phased before pulling her clothes on. Sighing she felt relief flood her, she knew she'd be careless. The great animal fell and Kyle whimpered as he went and checked on Haden. He was a live, just hurt. Kyle sat back and howled. He called out to the pack. Haden needed Laney and they needed Avery.

Jake relaxed into the bed, his breathing labored. His eyes closed as he started to come down off his high. A smiled playing on his face as he felt her cuddle up to him. "I love you, baby." Laney had managed to chop enough wood to last them through the day and probable the next as well. Grabbing an arm full she headed back to camp, she smiled at Penny as she dropped the wood down into a pile next to their fire pit. She knew the wolves were aware that she was slacking off. She bent down to straighten up the wood, when a loud howl broke through the camp. She stopped, standing up as Leo came into camp he didn't wait long before him and Penny headed out. Staying planted she wasn't sure what she needed to do.

Haden whimpered his mind searching for Laney. He needed her here with him. He looked at Kyle who was telling him not to worry that he would take care of everything and that Char was already on her way to get Jake and Avery. Laney Haden begged for her. His alpha had saved his life and taken the beating from the wild animal that had been intended for him. He felt guilty for pushing Haden to go after the beast just the two of them.

Jake smiled at her, and furrow his brow. "What were you nervous about?" He asked her, wanting to hear everything she had to say. "Well if that's the case then maybe we should get up and do something then." He suggested. "Maybe take a little walk."

Laney was pacing around camp, not liking what was going on. She felt out of the loop. With the other groups she was with there would be screaming of what was going on. Her there was signs and signals that she wasn't up to speed on. And right now her heart was in her throat as she worried over every possible situation. Though she pulled in a breath as Penny broke the perimeter of camp. "Haden needs you." Was all she managed to get out, before Laney's feet took off. She didn't need a guide her nose was her guide. She grinned and picked up her cloths starting to pull them on. "Did you know I was meant to be your mate when you met me?" she asked him. That had been a very odd meeting in her mind. She had ran into he love of her life. It was all like a plot in a story book. Avery squirmed into her pants then sat up and pulled on her boots. Avery smiled lacing them up then turned towards Jake.

Haden's head lifted at the sound of Laney's voice. "Hold still Haden." A very naked Kyle said. They had Haden strung up on a make sift gurney to bring him back to camp. Haden whimpered and they set him down and stepped back letting Laney through. Haden moved his head nudging her hand with his snout. He looked up at her his eyes cloudy with pain and worry over her. Leo sighed and explained what happened. "They where hunting and the moose nearly got Kyle but Haden pushed him out of the way." They had wrapped Leo's shirt around Haden's gash hoping to stop the bleeding but the couldn't tell if it was helping yet. "Which you would know if you joined the pack." Kyle said and Haden snarked looking at his pack member. He would not have his mate treated like this. There was thing he could do right now. Kyle ran a hand through his hair. "Well it's true Haden and if she was fully connected to you she would have felt it." he snapped and Haden barked a snarl at him. Kyle huffed and turned shifting and ran off. Penny came through the trees a moment later. "Come on let's get you home and see if we can get that bleeding stopped." she said and picked up the other end of the gurney as Leo did. Penny smiled at Laney. "Will you walk beside him? He just needs you close to him. It gives him strength." she said and then they started off back to camp.

Jake chuckled at her response. "First of all, I wouldn't let us part frustrated." He teased her, "and secondly practice makes prefect, though I'm not complaining one bit." He smirked at her as he watched her get up. "MmMm." He shook his head, leaving behind his thoughts since they would just get him in trouble. He followed suit and got up, quickly pulling on some clothes. Jake stopped as he was about to pull on his shirt, looking over at her. He thought about her question. "I can't say I really did," he told her before pulling his shirt on. "I felt attached to you and felt the need to protect you. But other than that I didn't think you were meant to be my mate, I just wanted to make you." He knew he wasn't explaining it right, like always he sucked at this kind of things. His thoughts were cut off by a howl, it was familiar. "Wait here." He warned her, before heading out the door. By the time he reached the front door, Char was already standing before him, her body naked. "Haden's hurt we need Avery now." Was all she said before taking off back towards the forest. Jake turned to head back to tell her they had to go, only to be met with her in the door way to the room.

Laney blinked back tears as she rushed over to Haden, she was completely out of it. Her mind was going crazy with worry, she didn't understand why she couldn't focus her thoughts. It wasn't until she felt Haden's snout touch her, it was like a buck of cold water was pored over her. Her eyes locked on his she could see the pain he was in, and she hated it. She could barely understand what the others were saying. As her focus was on him, letting her barely comprehend just where he was hurt. Laney came too when Haden snarled she could feel the intense meaning behind it. And she didn't like it, not that it effected her. His moving couldn't be doing anything but putting him in pain. "Lay still." She told him, not caring about what was going on around her. But hearing Kyle's words she couldn't help but let out a snarl of her own, before placing her hand on Haden's head. Her fingers gently stroking his ears, and rubbing the side of his face. She was doing her best to calm him down and let him know she was here for him. She looked at Penny as she threw questions at her, not sure what she could possibly do to give him strength but she wasn't leaving his side at all. The entire time back to camp as she could do was rub the top of his head.

Avery frowned as Jake looked up at the howl. "Who is it?" she asked and frowned as he told her to stay. She watched him walk out and bit her lip. If it was onion they knew they would need to leave now because they wouldn't interrupt mating for anything less then something important. But if it was an intruder she needed to stay here so they didn't smell her not that it was very likely they wouldn't. Avery walked to the door listening for Jake. She looked at him concerned as he came back. He looked worried. "What's going on Jake?" she asked walking over to him putting her hands on his chest for both of their comfort. Jake explained what he could and she nodded. They packed and then Avery bit her lip. If Haden was hurt they needed to get there fast. "Jake my legs aren't strong enough even being as fast as I am to get us there faster than a few hours." It took Char so little time to get here from camp. "I think... maybe you could carry me back." she said and bit her lip. She knew it would be hard for him tp carry her but they needed to get back and any time they had helped.

Haden relaxed feeling Laney's hands on him. He closed his eyes each step that his pack took to get him back to camp felt like someone was stabbing his side and pouring alcohol on it. He whimpered when they set him not he table in Jake and Avery's house. Haden was grateful his pack members left him with Laney alone. He sure hoped Avery and Jake would get back quickly. He could suddenly understand why the last group Avery was in was so protective of her. In this moment he wished she had been here. He gently licked Laney's hand getting her attention. He knew she had never been through something like this and while it was happening all he could think of was her and protecting her from the pain. Haden looked up at her and hoped she was alright.

"It's Char, Haden's been hurt." He told her calmly, though he was anything but. "We've got to go now." He told her, before placing a kiss to her temple, then moving to quickly gather their things. Upon hearing her words he nodded knowing she was right, but she might not like what he had in mind. Once she pulled her pack on she offered her his. Sliding it on backwards so it rested against her chest. "I want you to hold on tightly, okay." He told her before pulling his shirt off. "Don't be afraid to pull hair." He could tell she was slightly confused at what he meant. But he quickly finished undressing. Then walked to her and shoved his clothing into the bag on her front. Leaning down and pressing his lips to hers. "Love you." He told her, stepping back. He phased, pawing at the earth he lowered himself down enough for her to mount him.

Laney could feel the pain he was in, it wasn't like she going through it with him. But she could feel a watered down version of it. Once they were in the house she watched as everyone left. "Penny." She said stopping the woman from leaving just yet. "Find Kyle and bring back the moose." She instructed, not caring if she sounded bossy. "And I'd like an update on where we stand with bringing Avery back." She told the woman. She then turned back to Haden, her hand moving to Leo's shirt. It was soaked it blood, pulling back she pulled her off her body. "This is going to hurt." She warned him before placing her shirt on top of the wound, pressing down. She knew the best way to stop bleeding was apply pressure. And she'd be damned if she let him bleed out before her sister got there. "You promised you'd be home before dinner." She told him, knowing he'd succeeded. "This wasn't what I had in mind." She told him softly. She leaned over the table, her body placing more pressure on his side. But she didn't pay any attention, as she laid her head down on his neck. Her other hand coming up to pet the top of his head.

Avery took Jake's pack and slipped it on so it would work while trying to hold onto Jake. She bit her lip and nodded at his command. She watched him pull cloths off as he said not to be afraid to pull hair she frowned knowing what he mean after a moment. She looked at her naked lover and kissed him back as he did and she smiled gently. "I love you too." she said and flinched watching him shift. It wasn't that either sate of him particularly upset her it was the change between he two that unsettled her. Avery looked him over and then slowly got on top of him. She leaned down to speak in his ear as she adjusted herself and the bags to hold on closely. "I had hoped that we would have been able to do this in a time that wasn't so sensitive." she said and ran her hands into his fur holding tight her chest pressing to his as she had moved the bags both to her back. Avery held on and nodded. "Okay." she said and closed her eyes as Jake took off. She had needed that moment to get ready before she opened her eyes and watched the forest soaring past.

Haden smirked watching her natural alpha abilities take over. He watched the confusion on Penny's face but she looked at Haden then nodded and left. Haden whimpered as Laney said it was going to hurt. He let out a throaty growl that wasn't really a growl but more of hard breathing. He smiled as Laney talked to him and leaned down soothing him with her presence. She felt better with her here like this. He kept breathing hard the pressure hurt but he knew it was necessary so he let it go. Haden closed his eyes relaxing as he tried to slow his breathing and get his pain under control. He licked Laney's hand then let his head rest on the table.

Jake felt her climb on top of him, he waited. Listening to her he rolled his eyes, of course she'd what to do this too. He wasn't to keen on being in his wolf form around her. After all it's cause them so much problems, some of which they were just now healing from. Once she gave the okay, he took off. Setting off slowly before he let loose and pushed himself to full speed. He could tell that Char was lagging behind, though he didn't slow for her. Their priority was to get Avery to Haden. And that's what he was going to do. His alpha was more important than he could begin to describe. After all he was family, someone that was dear to him personally. But the fact that Avery and Laney were both involved in it added to his desperation to get there. He knew if he lost Haden he'd take it hard by his lonesome but feeling the pain of his mate would kill him. And he knew that she'd be there for her sister no matter what.

Laney place a kiss to his snout, she knew that he was hurting. He couldn't hid it from her. Even though they weren't fully mated as Kyle pointed out, his pain still affected her. But it seemed it was only when she was close. "They need to fucking hurry up." She growled out getting impatient. She couldn't help it, it wasn't like he was just in pain. No he was bleeding out, all over her and the table he was laying on. And even if it was just a little bit of blood, she'd still flip the fuck out. And right now she needed her sister her telling her it was going to be okay. That he was going to be okay.

Avery bit her lip and watched as the camp came into view. She climbed off Jake as they stopped in front of their house. She dropped the bags and pulled out Jake's cloths. She couldn't do this alone. Once Jake's hand was in hers she walked in to the kitchen hearing Laney in there. She walked to her sister and put her hand over Haden's side. Avery smiled softly at her sister in reassurance. She lifted it and her eyebrows drew together. She placed the shirt back on his side. "Laney can you hear Haden's thoughts?" she asked not sure how close Laney was with Haden but she needed a translator. She needed to know what happened and what hurt and how other than the obvious. If she could get him to shift then this would be a hell of a lot easier to fix up but she had to sure he was safe to do so first. Avery moved around the kitchen bring out the alcohol and a knife and then sent Jake to get her kit in their room. She sent Penny to get the antibiotics and pain killers from the store room and Leo to boil and bring her some water and clean cloths. Avery put up her hair and started to clean up her arms up to her elbows with the water they had and soap. She dried with a clean cloth and thanked everyone as they started bring stuff in and what happened was explained to her. "I need to find out if there is internal bleeding or if anything was broken. If everything is okay inside this should be a fairly simple fix." she said.

Haden watched Avery come in and walk around calling out orders and how people moved to help her. He looked up at Laney his mind reaching for her. He wanted her to know his thoughts. He knew it was harder from this but this close it should be possible.

Jake came to a trot as he entered camp, the rest of the pack were congregated at their house. So he came to a stop letting her get off him. Backing away he phased before taking the clothing she had for him. Pulling them on they quickly enter the house in order to help her. He smiled at he watch her get into her zone, she started firing off directions. He headed to their bedroom to get the kit she needed. He headed back down stairs waiting for her to continue. He knew he'd be needed. But he was already tired of waiting, he couldn't imagine what Laney was going through.

Laney looked at her sister like she'd lost her mind, of course she couldn't hear his thoughts. They might have been mated but she hadn't excepted him as her alpha. Or that's what she'd thought. But the moment she went to snap at her sister, she heard him in her mind. Oh god. She thought looking back at him. Nuzzling his head with hers she closed her eyes not wanting to lose him.

Avery went through the steps checking him out and nodded as he said his side was hurting and it was lower than the cut. She started pushing on his side gently and pulled her hands away when he whimpered. She felt his ribs and then the ones where it hurt having to put him in pain to see with her hands. She sighed and turned looking pale. "Fuck." she muttered and took a deep breath. "His ribs are broken. If he phases now they would puncture his lung. I can't tell if they are shattered or not but from what I gather they are only fractured. It should take a few days to heal but that cut isn't going os top bleeding until I get it stitched up." she said and paced. "I'm gonna have to shave around the ripped flesh in order to find the pieces that i need to sew back together." she said knowing it was tedious and the amount of blood he would be loosing as she worked would be more than he was now. "Fuck!" she kicked a chair and ran her hands through her hair. "I'm going to see if we have any coagulation powder. She said walking out. She needed to get her shaking under control before she could work on Haden. She walked down to the storage room tears filling her eyes. She didn't know if she could work fast enough. The power would be the only part of the solution. She sat down on the stairs and let the tears stream down her face as fast and as furious as they needed to. Soon she would have to get herself together so she could stick Haden up.

Haden pressed his head to Laney's. He whimpered as Avery left the room upset. He didn't like to see her so upset. He knew she could do this. She had saved Char's leg she could fix him up no problem. He didn't know why she was so worried about it when he believed she could do it. Haden knew Jake would take care of his mate. He was glad Jake and Avery where finally mated. It might explain some things now that he thought about it. She had an entirely different set of emotions running through her she hadn't been ready to deal with. She was tied now in her own way to the pack and they where all worried about him. Hell he was worried but Avery was here now and she would figure it out. Haden relaxed in the comfort of his own mate and sighed. It's hard to speak like this but I like you in my head. Haden spoke to Laney.

Jake was shocked when Laney started firing off what Haden had feed her. She was his mate and he'd doubted they could do it, but they pulled it off. He was pulled back to reality as Avery stormed off, he blinked realizing the doubt he'd been feeling wasn't just his but hers too. Groaning he shook his head, he needed to get himself under control because it was effecting her too. Sighing he calmed his nerves before heading back to their room. He knew that he had a straight razor somewhere. He'd stumbled upon it one day and brought it home, it would need to be sharped but they could use it to shave Haden. Pulling open on of the drawers he rummaged around before finding it. Walking out side he addressed the pack. "I need a piece of leather." He told him, hoping that one of them could locate a piece. Then he headed for Avery. He walked up and could feel her pain, "baby." He cooed, before kneeling in front of her and pulling her into his arms. "You've got this." He told her before placing a kiss on top of her head. He cradled her in his arms for a bit before pulling back and handing her the razor. "It may need sharping, but one step at a time." He told her, before placing a kiss on her forehead.

Where the fuck is she going? Laney thought, she didn't like seeing her sister leaving her mate her. A part of her wanted to go after her and rip her to shred for not fixing him. But she couldn't leave him like this. She needed to relaxed and stay calm for him, he needed that from her. I know baby. She stroked his face, before placing a kiss on top of his snout. I love you, and if you do something like this again you'll find out what it's like to be a monk. She threatened him. She was having a hard time keeping her anger at bay, but she knew that he needed her more, and it kept her as grounded as she could get.

Avery looked up as Jake came in and frowned feeling guilty. She was a mess when Haden and the pack needed her. Avery melted into his arms crying for a bit until she felt calm. She sat there holding him for a while and nodded when he said she could do this. It was calming to have her mate believe in her. She took a deep break of him her hands steady again. He gave her a razor and she smiled and nodded. "Right. Thank you." she said thinking that the razor would be better than the knife she had been going to use. Avery smiled softly as Jake kissed her head and she stood taking the razor and looking over their supplies. She found a few things that would help. "Alright let's get this sharpened and I will prepare for this. It's gonna be tedious and I am gonna need help keeping the site cleaned from blood so I can see where I am trimming." she said and bit her lip. She knew a moose antler was ragged so more than likely so was Haden's wound. Avery wouldn't be able to decide what kind a sitter he would need until she had a cleaned and exposed work area. Avery walked with Jake back into their house and she looked at her sister and Haden. "I'm sorry I just needed a moment." She washed her hands again and then turned to Laney and Haden. "Alright first we need to start with a clotting agent to see if se can get that bleeding to at least slow down." she said and lifted the shirt then sprinkled the powder on and put a clean cloth over the wound using Laney's hands. "Keep pressure there just like you have been." she said and then thanked Leo as he brought then a leaver strip. She checked the blade and had Jake sharpen it. She poured alcohol over it to clean it then checked the wound. It was still bleeding but not as much. Avery filled a syringe with the boiled water. "Jake when I lift this towel I need you to gently wash away the blood. When I get the wound clear of fur then we will take a break." she said and looked at everyone in the room and nodded.They began.

Haden laid there listening to them and knew now was the time he would have to focus on staying still despite the pain. He looked at Laney and closed his eyes again then nodded. He wanted to get this over with. This day should have gone so different.
