Jake's eyes closed and his jaw tensed as he did his best to keep himself in check. The sound of her quick steps entered her ears and his eyes popped open watching her retreating form. He could make out the sound of laughter behind him as he stormed off towards his own place. He knew that it wasn't very fair to her that he was so demanding but she'd started this with her teasing. Jake laid there listening to her explain her worries. He knew he'd been pushing himself harder lately. He weqkly nodded right now wanting to sleep. But his eyes popped open when she meantion taking his role in scouting. "Like hell you will." He said, his voice hoarsed and laced with sleep. "I'll get some sleep, but you need to eat." He knew he was hungry, so she had to be to. But he knew he couldn't stay awake long enough to eat. Leaning up he pressed a kiss to her lips before dropping down on the bed. His eyes slipping closed.

Avery chuckled and kissed his head. "Fine fine. I won't but you will sleep." she said and kissed him softly. "Yes I will eat." She promised and watched him pass out. She sighed and kissed his head once more watching him sleep a moment then getting up and dressing. Avery smiled as she headed back towards the pack getting some food, sitting and eating. Avery yawned softly and rubbed her eyes. She hoped that she could get some sleep tonight and was really glad she had gotten a nap earlier.

Jake yawned as he moved through camp, his arms full of wood. Dropping it down next to the pit, he started to pill it before lighting it up. His ears caught the movement inside of camp before his tired eyes could recognize what was going on. Tilting his head he blew at the flames hoping to make them grow so he could start cooking. "This doesn't seem to be your forte." He heard the gruff voice murmur out. "S'not." Jake mumbled, before standing up. The fire taking to the wood and flickering enough for him to start cooking. "Here, son." The man said before dropping some skinned meat down on the stump they'd made into a make shift table. Jake just nodded his head before taking the meat and carving it up, he had no idea what he was going to cook he just knew it was breakfast. He was lost in thoughts when the man pulled out a few potatoes from his bag. "It's not much but you can figure it out yeah?" Jake lifted his eyes to face Avery's father. "Where did you find these?" He asked knowing they'd been all over looking for food. He was thankful none the less but it shocked him that they'd managed to find any food. "Thank you." He told him when he noticed he wasn't going to get an answer. He set the meet side before he got up and headed into their food storage. A smile pulled at his face when he noticed the small container of oil. He opened the bottle a took a whiff, he didn't know if the stuff went bad but he was going to use it anyways. Heading back out side he noticed he was alone. He wondered why their father did that. What could he gain from bringing the pack food. It wasn't like he was going to see either of the girls. And it was something he'd been doing every day since his pack made themselves noticed, he'd heard them come and go. It was a waist of his time and it made Jake feel a bit sorry for the man. But he could tell from his encounter with him that he wasn't well liked. It wasn't any skin off his back. But as Jake put the finishing touches on their breakfast he smiled at Char as she joined him. She was shocked by the sight of the potatoes as well and she was quick to question. But he shrugged it off and told her it came from the girl's father. She nodded knowing it wasn't at topic he wanted to talk about. Making himself and Avery a plate he smiled at the woman before leaving her to go tend to his mate. He could hear her shallow breaths as he neared the room, a smile playing on his lips as he knew she was still asleep. "Avery." He said softly, placing their plates down, before leaning over her. "Baby, wake up." He told her shaking her gently. The past few days their sleeping patterns had been all messed up so she'd end up sleeping while he was awake and he'd sleep while she was awake. It wasn't something he liked and felt as if they were cutting their time short some how. Smiling as her eyes opened he gently kissed her lips. "Good morning beautiful." He said, "I brought breakfast."

The smell of food pulled her from her slumber. A soft smile on her lips as she was thankful someone else was cooking this morning. She'd told them she'd do it since she'd been spending all her time in bed with Haden. Both of them having been drained. All she'd managed to do the past few days was sleep and eat. She needed a bath, and so did he. It was terrible that they hadn't been doing much of anything. She knew that Haden was only tired due to his healing, while she was emotionally exhausted. Pulling herself from bed she got up and headed down stairs. She smiled at the smell it reminded her of a time before the wolves. She couldn't place the smell but it made her mouth water. She knew that Haden would be hungry also. Moving to the small pit she smiled at Penny and Char. "Morning." She greeted them, knowing they were understanding of what was going on and didn't push. The men how ever were a little bit judgmental. She looked at the pan of potatoes. "Where did these come from?" She questioned but knew before she'd even managed to get the question out. "Your dad." Said Char a mouth full of food. "They're so good, I'd make you some before the guys get out." She chuckled knowing they all could be rather pigs about things. She nodded before making her and Haden a plate. "So today's the day huh?" Penny asked as she was finishing up. "Yeah, he should be able to transform back." Laney responded a smile on her face. She'd missed the man more than she would have thought. Even though they were connected by the mind, it was his human presences she missed more than anything. "It's the worst feeling." Char said out of the blue, "not being able to phase," she shook her head. "It's more comfortable in wolf form but when your mate's in pain and you can't hold them it fucking sucks." She said, causing the other two girls to laugh. "I can't imagine what he's going through, but I'll be glad to get rid of the dog smell." She told them before heading back to their house. She knew that he'd more than likely be awake. She couldn't leave the room lately with out waking him. It made her happy to know he felt her presences that much. But she was also thankful that today he'd be able to phase back.

Avery grinned sleepily as Jake woke her. She chuckled as he shook her and pushed at him. "I'm awake you dork." she giggled and blinked open her eyes slowly. Avery grinned as his lips pressed to hers. She returned his kiss with a sleepy slow kiss. Avery hummed and wrapped her arms around him. She stretched out under him then rolled over and sat up rubbing her eyes. "Morning handsome." she said and pulled her messy hair back with her hands. "Mmm what smells so good?" she asked and looked at the food frowning. She knew instantly where the food came from. "He was here?" she looked at Jake and frowned. "More than once." she said by the look on his face. She shook her head and stood. Avery sighed and stripped before angrily pulling on fresh cloths. She tied her hair up and turned to look at him and sighed. She sat down and let him and her the food. "He's bringing it because he doesn't think you can provide for me, or Haden for the pack. He's not doing it out of kindness or love, don't let him fool you." she said and took a bite humming as she crewed closing her eyes. It hurt in her chest just as much as it warmed her belly for her to eat those potatoes. She put them to the side finishing the meat and giving Jake the other half of her potatoes. When he looked at her she shook her head. "Don't give me that look. I will be just fine not eating those. I promise to eat more at lunch." she said and kissed his lips. "I have to go it's my turn to clean up." she said and took her dishes and sighed. "You're still not getting enough sleep." she said feeling like they didn't have enough time together. She hated that they where struggling so hard just to survive. How could she even enjoy her life like this? Avery kissed Jake goodbye soothing his worry with a smile before heading out to her duties. Avery cleaned up before going to check on Haden. She smiled as she came in on him and her sister. "Alright big guy last check up before I give the all clear." she said and started checking on him. Once she had checked him out for everything she smiled and nodded. "Alright you're all clear. Doctors orders are that you can shift now. Just take it easy will you?" she smiled as he stood and shook out. She chuckled. "Keep the running to a minimum. No heavy lifting yet." she said and he snorted playfully. Avery laughed. "Yeah yeah sure you will." she rubbed his head and hugged her sister. "Have fun... and take it easy on him." she said and smirked ducking out before her sister swatted her. She laughed and headed down to the camp. She was suppose to meet up with Penny to go try and do some gathering around the woods for anything useful plat wise.

Haden woke as Laney left the room and rolled over. He was going stir crazy in this room and in this fur! He missed his mate despite they had spent the last few days in the same room together as she waited on him hand and foot. Haden laid there hoping Avery would give him the go ahead today. When Laney came back his hears perked up and he barked playfully grinning as she set the food down. He looked at the potatoes curiously and looked at her tilting his head. He nodded as she told him where they came from. He ate up and drank his water before licking up his paws and snout. He felt like the mangey mutt in the room. He licked Laney's hand afterwards. It wasn't long after Avery came in and checked him out. She went over everything being way to thorough. But once she was done she gave the all clear and he barked in excitement hoping to his feet. She told him to take it easy and to not run. He wasn't sure he could but the doc said so, he guessed he would try at least. When she left he looked at Laney and beamed. Ready? Haden asked to her mind. He hated he would look like crap when he shifted back but none the less the first thing he wanted was to hold her and give her a big kiss.

Jake frowned hearing her words, "baby." He started knowing she was really upset about her father being around. "It's not like that okay, we've been feeding them." He told her, "that moose it's almost gone because we've been sharing with them." He told her watching as she put the potatoes on his plate. "It's their way of paying us back, after all we are two wolves down." He started. "Leo's been out doing his best to find anything but its hard when he's not a good tracker." He thought of Laney and how she'd be able to find them something with in an hour. But he knew talking her into going out hunting wasn't going to happen. He watched as she started getting ready to go out for the day. "Baby." He said, before placing his food aside. "Don't change the subject, I'm sleeping fine." He told her. Before pulling her in for a kiss, he sighed before watching as she walked away from him. He hated seeing her so upset over this. Grabbing his plate he popped a few of the diced potato into his mouth before standing up and heading down to pit. He watched as Avery moved around camp cleaning up before he moved over to Leo, "heading out?" He asked the man knowing they were going to need something for dinner tonight. And Jake was far better at scouting and tracking than Leo. "I'll head out with you." He told him, he nodded to Penny before moving over to Avery. "I'm going out with Leo." He informed her making sure to keep out of her way while she cleaned up. "I should be back before dinner, but on the off chance I'm not I don't want you to worry about me." He told her before placing a kiss to her forehead. "I love you." He said before pressing his lips to her. He smiled before he took off after Leo, the two of them clearing camp before they started to shed their clothing.

Laney smiled at the wolf before her, shaking her head as he playfully barked at her. She knew he was just as excited as she was. Setting his bowl down she smiled at him, "dad." Was all she said knowing that the man had his moments. But she couldn't think about him right now, her mind was so focused on Haden and him getting better that she didn't have the time for anything else. She'd wore herself out with worry the past few days. It wasn't worth her efforts right now. She toyed with her food knowing she wasn't eating due to being to lost in thoughts. Hearing feet on the stairs she looked up as her sister enter the room. She could feel her entire body perk up as the excitement ran through her body. Quickly shoving the last little bit of potatoes in her mouth she put aside her plate. Standing she moved out of the way so her sister could take a look at her mate. "Seriously?" She questioned as Avery stood giving Haden a clean bill of health. She smiled at Haden thankful that he was finally able to phase back. Turning to her sister she glared, "fuck off." She told her playfully. Knowing that she wasn't the one who was going to have to take things easily. Haden could be a beast when he wanted to be and something inside of her told her he wasn't going to be listening to doctors orders with that.

Nibbling on her lip she turned to him hearing his voice in her head again. "Always." She told him, smiling as she watched him phase. She knew it had been so uncomfortable for him to be in that form for so long so as she watched she couldn't help but winces as it looked rather painful for him. But it didn't stop her from moving to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "God it feels so good to have you in my arms again." She gushed, before pressing her lips to his. It took almost everything in her to pull back breaking their kiss. "Before we go to far, you need a bath." She told him, she'd lived with the smell of dog for awhile now. But it had been almost a week since he'd cleaned.

Avery already missed Jake. She headed into the forest with Penny. She shifted so she could smell out any underground herbs or roots. Avery walked with her thinking of Jake. She moved through the soft underbrush shifting plants with her toes to look for the herbs. She bit her lip and looked at Penny. "Sometimes I think I can feel Jake wherever he is." she said and Penny gave her a wolf smile. "I keep telling Jake that I'm a weird one. I've always been more connected with him than any normal human should be to a wolf." she chuckled and rolled her eyes. "I can't figure out why. Maybe it's something big and silly like sole mates or maybe I am just more open minded." she shrugged. Penny snorted and shook her head playfully. Avery chuckled. "I know but it's kind of easy to talk to wolves they listen and make noises in response." she chuckled. "Sorry I sound like a silly human." she said and Penny leaned into her a moment as they walked before changing directions her nose going to the ground. Avery smiled and walked with her stopping now and then to pick some herbs that would help in her med kit.

Haden shifted his muscles screaming like a thousand Charlie horses in every muscle as he stood. He groaned and smiled as Laney tossed herself into his arms. He wrapped himself around her his mouth meeting hers. He had missed this so much. He felt a new kind of energy filling him and a familiar longing for her building inside of him awakening the beast he had been ignoring all this time. He beamed and chuckled as she pulled away. She wanted him to bath and he agreed. "Come with me." he pleaded his voice kind of hoarse. The room smelled like dog though and he guessed she wanted to clean up in here. He sighed. "Alright but when I get back I want you." he growled softly nibbling her neck and kissed her head then all over her face chuckling as he grabbed some cloths and everything he needed heading tot he river. Haden slipped into he water and sighed. This felt so nice. He sighed and started to clean up. He didn't know how other wolves went months without this.

Jake huffed along moving through the thick as he kept his nose low to the ground. It seemed that since the other pack had moved so close to their camp it'd pushed most of the wild life further away. They'd spent most of the morning just trying to find some a sign of life. They'd been unlucky so far, a few snakes sighted and rabbit burrows found. But they needed something bigger to feed all them. Leo let out a soft whine knowing, he'd been keeping himself guarded and not letting Jake hear all his thoughts. He knew he wasn't happy about the new pack mooching off of them. It did feel like how Avery put it this morning. They'd not only eat all their food but made it damn near impossible to find any new kill. Though he was thankful his Alpha was not back on his feet. It meant they would have more direction. Instead of fending for themselves. It'd been hard with out him and so far most of them were doing okay but none of them liked to be alone in all this. Shaking his thought he perked up as the sound of a twig snapping enter his ears. Both him a Leo had went straight as a board trying to figure out what was lurking in the trees with them. His breathing shallowing though his heart was hammering in his ears. He knew it was best to clear his mind and focus on the noise. Hearing leaves rustle he wondered what could be making so much noise.

Laney smiled at him placing her hand on his chest and shaking her head. "As much as I'd like to, you wouldn't be bathing now would you." She did her best to distance herself from him knowing they both were having such a hard time with this. But she had to put her foot down. He still had a wound though it was healed enough not to bust open, it still needed to be cleaned. Also they'd been trapped in the room for days with out him being out. She whined as he toyed with her neck, he knew just how to get to her. Nibbling on her lip she pulled completely away from him knowing if she didn't distance herself now they'd end up tangled in each other. Moving to the bed she quickly pulled the sheet from it before taking it over the the widow and hanging there. It wasn't washing but the breeze would blow out some of the smell. She didn't know how people did it before electricity. But it was something she was getting used to. Smiling she tidied up the room a bit making sure to throw out his old bandages and bloody clothes. It was something she'd been meaning to do for a while now but hadn't had the want to do so. Sitting down on the bed she wondered how Haden was fairing with his bath, hoping he was at least enjoying it.

Avery smiled as Penny clawed at the ground and she took the shovel and started to dig. She smiled as the found some roots that would be good in a stew. She put them in the sack she had brought along. Avery smiled and stood after patting the dirt back into place. "Good find." she said and picked a few more herbs around picking some berries as they continues on finding nuts and little things that would be helpful. They walked all around the inside of the boundary around camp trying to stay close to camp. It wasn't long before they gave up on finding more and headed back to camp to sort through the little treasures they had found.

Haden cleaned up being careful of his side. It was still tender but still he was trying to hurt before something came up that he couldn't get out of now. Haden dressed and smiled having trimmed up his stable to. He took his things and jogged back into camp smiling at Kyle and patted his arm on the way back making him laugh. "Good to see you Boss!" Kyle called and Haden smiled heading home and un the stairs into their room hoping Laney was still there and was waiting on him. He was impatient to have her in his arms and to kiss her again now that he was cleaned up and felt good again.

Leo pranced around Jake in his mouth was a baby boar, the squealing louder ever chance it got. Jake on the other hand had managed to kill its mother. Her rather large and heavy body now draped over his back as he staggered through the forest back to camp. He'd already told Leo to go back and cage up the baby. But he'd refused it was like he was getting an enjoyment out of watching Jake struggle. Though he could really use some help he still pushed on, almost back to camp now. He was surprised no one had come running at the noise the baby was making.

Laney smiled as Haden entered the room, she moved to him knowing that if she denied him now it wouldn't end well. Moving to him she wrapped her arms around his neck, before leaning in and pressing a gentle kiss to his lips. "I have missed this." She whispered out, her hands running through his hair. His lips were eager to have hers agian and she didn't appose. Letting him control the kiss and move them to the bed. She was in the mood to make slow and passionate love. But she could tell that he was needy and eager to take her, fast and hard. And though she wanted slow she wasn't about to stop him from getting what he wanted. They had plenty of time.

Avery looked up hearing the squealing as Penny came back from getting dressed. "What is that?" she asked and smiled as Penny chuckled. "Leo being a boy." she said. "Let's clear the table it seems Jake made a good kill." she said and Avery grinned cleaning up the table and watched Penny pull out a cage and set it up. She grinned at her and Avery headed towards the noise and smiled seeing Jake in his wolf form looking at him with a kind of sentimental love and yet a fire of desire in her eyes. She grinned. "Hey my big mighty man. That looks heavy. I got the table cleared off for your score babe." she said and grinned at him. She took the piglet from Leo and soothed it making it stop squealing so much. She had the touch on just about anything. She grinned and chuckled as she walked back to camp and put it in the kennel putting some of the herbs she had found in there for the little baby. Avery smiled as Leo and Jake put the boar on the table.

Haden grinned as they laid back no the bed. He ran his hands up her sides his lips moving over hers and her skin. He growled softly as he nibbled her neck and moved between her legs. He could feel her warmth surrounding him. He had never been more grateful for this moment he could come to his mate and love her. He decided they had to many cloths on. Jake huffed out as the weight left his back, walking away from the table he heading back to his clothing. Phasing back into human form he dressed as quickly as his sore body would allow him. Then he started the trek back to camp, stopping when he was greet by Avery's dad. "Great catch my boy." He said clapping him on the shoulder. Jake closed his eyes at the impact he wasn't sure if this man was trying to inflict pain or showing his acceptances. Though he had a hard time believing it was the later one. "Thanks." He said before walking back to camp with the man. It wasn't till he reached the edge of camp he broke off from the man and head right for Avery. "Hey baby." He greeted her, placing a kiss on her cheek. "Heads up, your dads here." He whispered into her ear, he wanted to warn her not knowing how she felt about the guy. "So he's cute huh?" He asked as she messed with the baby in the cage. He knew they'd have to find some good food for it so it grew and they could slaughter it when it was fat enough.

Avery smiled as Jake came back into camp. She grinned tossing her arms around him as he kissed her cheek. She was so proud of him and adored him celebrating with him and the pack at the catch. He whispered to her and she frowned taking a deep breath and sighed. She rested her head on his shoulder and kissed his neck softly once before hugging him hard before turning to look at the piglet with Jake. She chuckled. "I know we are raising to slaughter but I can't help but think he is so cute." she said and crotched down watching his nose wiggle as he ate. She giggled and looked up at Jake. She stood as her father came into the camp and leaned into Jake like he was her protective shield but it didn't seem like he was going to just leave her alone as he headed towards her.
