Emma nodded, "Let's get started." She said before walking off into the forest farther. She needed to get rid of this snowman. She was the sheriff it was her job, "How do you suppose we go about getting rid of this snowman?" Robin asked as they walked through the wooded area. Emma shrugged, "I'm gong to be honest. I have no idea. Let's just hope that we can actually do something. It seemed pretty scared when we last saw it but who knows that could have been because it was shot at."

    ---

Killian smirked at her before they all started walking to find the snowman, "So if you're not scared of a giant snowman then what are you scared of? And why doesn't a giant snowman scare you?" He asked curiously. He was very curious to know why none of the siblings seemed to be at least a little bit intimidated by the snowman.

"I guess you're just going to have to find out." Layla smirked, mocking what he'd said to her earlier. Realistically, she wasn't about to give out such information when she hardly knew him. Plus, seeing as they were planning on grabbing lunch some time in the near future, she figured that the whole hunter thing would come out then if not before then. She wasn't about to give her entire life story when they were on their way to find a giant snowman though.
"Sounds like we might have some company." Dean said, hearing what he could only assume was the monstrous snowman they'd encountered earlier in town. It seemed a little ways in the distance but it was definitely headed their way. "Still don't have any ideas as to how we're going to handle this thing?" He asked Emma, glancing over to her. Shooting it clearly didn't work, and he didn't want more backlash about that from Sam anyway. "This is just a suggestion, but couldn't you use your magic, Emma?" Robin suggested, causing Dean to look back to her, an incredulous expression on his face. "Magic?"

Emma looked at Dean and shook her head before Robin suggested her using her magic. Emma shut her eyes quickly and sighed before looking over at Robin, ignoring Dean's question, "I don't know how well it would work. I'm still trying to get a hold on things. Regina usually helps me with that kind of thing." She said then shrugged, "But I could always try." She added as they neared where the snowman seemed to be hiding out.

    ---

Killian smirked at her choice of words, clearly mocking his words from earlier, "I look forward to finding out. And finding out more about you." He said with a grin before he looked up ahead of them, "If you don't mind me asking, what's going on between your brother and Swan?" He asked curiously. Killian had been curious about it since the night before when they both seemed upset as soon as Layla and her brother's arrived.

"They have a history, and that's all I can really say on that matter." Layla said, punctuating her words with a slight shrug of her shoulders. "I wasn't around when he met Emma or anything. I was working case with a few friends of ours at the time." The case hadn't last nearly six months though. She'd just been so angry with Dean for selling his soul to bring Sam back. Of course, she was glad to have Sam back, but getting one brother back to only learn she was going to lose another in a year's time? That wasn't something she'd wanted to hear at all. She thought Dean was stupid for making that Deal, and she hadn't talked to him for a whole six months because of it. After working that Wendigo case with Jo and Ellen, she'd spent a good amount of her time helping out around the Road House. When things started getting serious with the whole Lilith thing, she'd kind of come to her senses and realized that Dean only had six or so months left of his life before he was sent to Hell. She hadn't wanted him to die knowing that she hadn't forgiven him.
"Hold on a second here, what magic, Emma?" Dean asked, obviously a bit out of the loop seeing as he hadn't seen her in the last thirteen years. Normally any form of magic he'd come across came in the form of spells witches would cast and dammit, he hated witches. But was Emma one? Did she already know that he was a hunter? Had she been playing him the entire time? Just looking to see how easily he could to the eldest Winchester boy? It made no sense whatsoever, but his head was sort of reeling and thoughts kind of racing nonetheless.

(Might be short cause I'm on my phone)

Emma sighed and looked at Dean, "Dean I don't have time to explain this to you." She said in a frustrated tone. She didn't even know how to explain it herself, being that she was still fairly new to it all, "You might not believe it but after seeing the snowman I'm sure you will. I have magic." She let out and sighed again. She didn't know any other way to say it other than blurt it out.

    ---

Killian nodded at her words, "I understand. It's not my place to ask, I was just curious." Killian said as they walked. He looked at the front of the pack and noticed Emma and Dean had stopped and she was talking to him about her magic. Killian wasn't sure how the Winchesters would take all of this news. He bet it would be fairly well though because they reacted pretty calmly to the snowman.

"So make time, Emma." Dean said, shooting a look her way. He knew that he was probably jumping to conclusions but he couldn't quite help it. It was just so easy to do what with everything he'd been through over the years. "And you've always had it?" He obviously wasn't phased by what she was telling him, just the fact that it was her. "Did you know who I was before we met? Was trying to hot wire by damn car an excuse to talk to me?" Maybe he was taking things completely out of proportion and overreacting but it was just so easy to do.
"It's fine, there's not much I can tell you anyway. My brother and I weren't exactly on speaking terms when he met Emma." Layla said. She honestly regretted going off with Ellen and Jo like she had. When she thought Dean was truly dead and that he wasn't coming back, well that was easily one of the toughest times for her to get through. She'd been young back then, and she'd overreacted more than she should have. She'd acted like a child. That's when she noticed that Dean and Emma had stopped and we're talking. She could tell that her brother was freaking out about something and then she heard Emma say something about magic and it made sense. The only people with magic they'd ever come across were witches and she knew Dean wasn't too fond of them.

Emma sighed and looked at Dean, "Yeah I guess I did have it all my life but I didn't know until two years ago. I don't even know how to properly use it!" She yelled at him. When she heard his later words she furrowed her brows together, "I don't even know what you're talking about! How would I know who you are? I still don't even really know who you are!" She yelled before looking around to see everyone looking at them, "We aren't talking about this right now Dean. I have a town to protect." She stated. Maybe Henry could possibly be right. Everything Dean was saying didn't make sense if you didn't really think about it.

    ---

Killian nodded before looking up to see Emma yelling at Dean. He frowned before he looked over at Layla, "Well looks like it's time to face this snowman." He said as they came up on where the snowman was hiding. He was kind of nervous because he had no idea how they were going to take this thing down. He wondered if somehow Regina would show up and take it down with her magic. She clearly had a better hold on it than Emma did.

"Well, I guess I don't know who you are either." Dean said harshly, shaking his head. She had magic. Of course she did. The woman whose son was potentially his had magic. With everything he'd come across and dealt with over the years, it was so easy for him to jump to conclusions. His gaze shifted away from her and he too realized that they had the attention of everyone else in the group. He really hadn't realized that they were yelling or that they were even talking that loud. Apparently they were though. "Later then." He said gruffly.
Layla understood why her brother was freaking out about Emma having magic. She wasn't going to say anything on the matter though, it really wasn't her place to do so. It was clear that the pair had a great deal to talk about, maybe more than Dean had bargained for. "Looks like it." She said. She was prepared to use her gun if she had to, but clearly that was what had pissed the thing off in the first place, so she wouldn't shoot unless it was completely necessary.

Emma sighed at Dean's words. When they neared the snowman he stood up and went to breathe his breath at them but Emma dodged it, holding up her hands and focused on trying to hurl her magic at it. At first nothing happened but finally her magic came out and went towards the snowman. He grunted and swatted at Emma, tossing her to the side. She groaned slightly before standing up and trying to steady herself.

    ---

Killian watched as they walked towards the snowman and he started to try and defend himself against them. He stood back as Emma started using her magic against him, but it only seemed to piss him off. Killian ducked when his giant hand flew through the air and hit Emma, tossing her to the side. Killian sighed and closed his eyes slightly before looking at Emma, "You okay Swan?" He asked and she nodded.

Dean watched as Emma closed her eyes, holding her hands up and seemingly focusing her attention on something. His eyes widened slightly when two beams of light shot from her hand at the snowman. So she wasn't lying then, she definitely had magic, but had she truly only known for two years now? His mind was still racing, but he knew that he couldn't get too caught up in all of that now. Emma's efforts only seemed to piss the thing off though, as it swatted its giant hand at her, tossing her to the side. He would have asked if she was alright, but the guy who seemed to have taken an interest in Layla beat him to it.
"Now what?" Layla asked backing up a bit as the thing seemed to be even more pissed off now than it had been before when Dean shot at it. She really didn't know how to go up against a giant snowman. Demons were simple, set a devil's trap up, use some holy water, an exorcism if necessary. Ghosts were too. Rock salt and iron. What the hell did you used against a freaking snowman? Before anyone could make any suggestions, the monster sent them all falling back with a blast of icy wind.

Emma groaned as she was sent backwards from the breath the snowman sent their way, "I'm out of ideas!" She yelled looking over at Robin. He shrugged too and looked up at the snowman. Just as the snowman was about to raise his foot and step on them he started melting. Emma furrowed her brows together as she looked behind him to see Regina using her magic to melt him with fire. She stood up and looked at Regina, "Thanks." She said and nodded at her.

    ---

Killian was thrown back with the breath being sent their way by the snowman. He watched as Emma and Robin were both out of ideas and then suddenly the snowman started melting. When it was fully gone, Killian saw Regina standing behind it with her hands up, clearly just using her magic to melt it. Killian stood and offered out a hand to Layla to help her up.

Dean's thought process was very similar to Layla's. He found himself running through all of the monsters he'd come across over the years and the way they'd gotten rid of them or stopped them, and giant snowman was no where on that list. He grunted when he was thrown back by the monster's icy breath, glancing over to Sam and Layla as the thing was about to step on them all. All of a sudden, the thing started melting. And it was soon revealed that a woman with dark hair had defeated it, clearly possessing magic just as Emma had. How many people in this damn town could do that?
"Thanks." Layla said quietly as Killian stood and held a hand out to help her up. Her gaze shifted over to where the man, Robin, was as he tried to talk to her. "Regina--" Before he could even get a word in edge wise, the woman disappeared in a puff of purple smoke. There was definitely a hell of a lot more going on in this town than she or her brothers had thought initially. "Looks like we survived." She said to Killian, grinning slightly.

Emma sighed as Robin went to talk to Regina and she then disappeared into her cloud is purple smoke. Emma looked over at Robin, "I'm sorry." She said, clearly seeing the sadness in his eyes. Not soon after, her parents arrived and obviously mad they missed it, "Emma! Are you okay?" Mary-Margaret asked as she ran over to her and hugged her. Emma nodded, "I'm fine. Regina saved us." She explained.

    ---

Killian looked over at Layla and smirked at her words, "We did." He said and nodded, "Looks like you're going to have to go to lunch with me." He added and smiled. He was actually quite looking forward to it, as he was very intrigued by this girl and everything about her.

"You reconsidering taking on that case in Portland now?" Sam asked, causing Dean's gaze to shift away from Emma and over to his brother. Dean sighed, running a hand through his cropped hair. "Yeah, I think so." He wasn't about to beat around the bush here. There was more to this Storybrooke than met the eye, and Emma was here and Henry, who was potentially his son. "Go talk to her...I'll have a look around the town for a bit...I would see if Layla wanted to come, but she appears otherwise occupied." Dean chuckled slightly, hearing the sour tone in Sam's voice. "She's twenty eight, Sam. She stopped taking our opinions into consideration a long time ago." He patted his brother on the arm before walking over to where Emma was talking to the man and woman she'd been talking to earlier in town. He cleared his throat, making his presence known. "Do you uh think we could talk now?"
Layla let out a quiet laugh. "I suppose that I will." She said, a small smile gracing her lips. She still didn't know what had possessed her to agree to this. Normally, she turned guys down when they asked her out, but for some odd reason she hadn't this time around. It was strange, she normally kept her guard up pretty high, having seen what her brothers had gone through over the years. Of course, there had been a few guys here and there, but things never got too serious. Maybe a few short-term relationships, a one night stand here and there but that was it. "You wouldn't happen to free now, would you?"

Emma looked over when Dean asked if they could talk. Emma took a breath and nodded, "Henry should be getting out of school soon. Could you pick him up and take him back to the apartment?" She asked, looking over at her parents. They nodded and started walking towards the town and she looked back at Dean, "Let's talk." She said with a small frown, scared about how this was going to go down.

    ---

Killian was surprised by at how eager she was to get to lunch, "Eager are we?" He teased before nodding, "Right is perfect." He stated, noticing everyone seemed to be going off and doing their own thing for the time being, clearly not focusing on who brought the snowman here.

"Look, I get that I didn't show up thirteen years ago, and you have ever right to be pissed at me for that, but I had what I think is a pretty good reason for not showing up...I just don't know if you'll believe me if I do tell you." Dean said, just getting straight to the point. He wanted her to believe him if he told her, he wanted her to understand, he just didn't know if she would. "There's a lot that I never told you about me, Emma."
Layla crossed her arms. "I don't normally go on dates, so I figured now would be better unless you're hoping I might change my mind?" She punctuated her words with a raised eyebrow. She smiled though when he said that now was perfect. "Good. Now's perfect for me as well." She was certain she'd get an earful from Sam later on, he still wasn't willing to give up the whole protective older brother front, but she really didn't care. She wanted to do this.

Emma sighed as she listened to him to him talk. Oh god. Maybe Henry was right, "What do you mean?" She asked him curiously. If Henry was right she definitely owed Henry an apology, "How could you not have told me everything about you?" She asked.

    ---

Killian raised his eyebrows at her, "Why would I ever want you to change your mind?" He asked with a smile, "I wouldn't dream of wanting you to change your mind." He added before grinning again, "Great! Granny's?" He asked even though it was really the only place they could go.

Dean sighed, running a hand over his face. "What would you say if I told you I didn't actually work for the FBI, and that Layla, Sam and I actually hunt monsters?" He asked her. Well, there goes nothing. The cat was out of the bag, and there was nothing he could do to take it back. "I didn't tell you, because, frankly, I figured you'd laugh in my face or think I was crazy if I did." He looked to her, trying to gauge her reaction, but to no avail at all.
Layla shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, I just like to keep any and all possibilities open." She said, smiling when he said that he wouldn't dream of changing his mind. She was glad to hear that. Maybe this was a good move on her part, she hoped so anyway. She didn't want this to be another mistake to add to the list of ones she'd made over the years. "It didn't look to me that there was anywhere else in town, so sure." She smiled.

Emma froze to the spot. He was right. Henry was right, "Oh my god." She said, "He was right. Henry had said you were from those books. He told me today. I didn't want to believe him. But it's true." She stated in shock. Emma knew she had to come forward now, "Well since we're confessing things here." She started and sighed, "Everyone here is a fairytale character. Even me. My parents are Snow White and Prince Charming." She explained and waited for his reaction.

    --

Killian smiled at her words, "It's okay there isn't anywhere else because Granny's has the best food. At least that's what I've come to know." He explained with a smile. He was glad she had agreed to go to lunch with him. Hopefully she would agree to go with him more places so he could spend more time with her and get to know her.

Why wasn't Dean at all surprised? Of course the kid would have those damn books. And apparently he was much more perceptive than Dean had thought too. "Yeah, those aren't actually books...the author, Carver Edlund, his name's Chuck. He's one of God's prophets." If they were both coming completely clean here, he didn't think there was any point in him leaving anything out. "Everything that's mentioned in those books, has actually happened. And some." He paused, listening as she spoke. His eyes widened slightly at her words. "So, you're telling me that everyone in this town is a fairytale character? So I'm guessing that guy Robin is Robin Hood and wait a second, the one my sister just walked off with, you called him Hook...so Captain Hook?"
"The cheeseburger I ate last night was pretty good, so I'll take your word for it." Layla said, a smile on her face. Glancing behind her, she saw Dean and Emma were talking. Sam had walked off to do whatever it was he was planning on doing. They wouldn't care if she went and got lunch. Not that she would have cared if they did. She was old enough to make her own decisions, and she'd already made up her mind on this one. That much she was certain of. "And, in that case, let's go. I'm starving."
