When the Lights Go Out

Reece was finally able to relax and his mind drifted away from worry. He fell into a deep sleep rather quickly, like he hadn't slept soundly for days.

In the morning Kate woke feeling wonderfully warm and relaxed. "Mmm." she stretched keeping her eyes closed before snuggling back into Reece.

Reece nodded softly, "Morning," he said quietly. He put his arms around her lightly

Katie blushed. "Morning." she whispered still not opening her eyes as her fingers gently rolled over his skin. She finally looked at him before she sat up and wrapped her arms around her legs as she hugged them.

Reece sat up, "you feeling alright?" he asked softly

Katie looked up at him and smiled softly. "Yeah I just could use another rinse off is all." she said softly and then rubbed his arm. Katie stood and picked up her cloths and dressed.

Reece smiled softly, "shall we go out to the tub then?" he asked softly

Katie smiled softly then nodded. "Yeah that would be nice. Then breakfast." she said and smiled softly standing and taking a towel before wrapping it around her and heading out to the tub.

Reece smiled softly and and followed her outside. "At least the storm is finally over," he said softly

Katie smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah." She said and then stripped off and slipped into the water. She was nervous about when they would come. The rescue teams and support teams. She knew they would ask all kinds of questions they couldn't answer and would be hard on Reece. She was already preparing her mind that she would have to go back into foster care.

Reece smiled brightly, god she was beautiful in the light. He stripped off and climbed into the water with her, "gosh you're beautiful," he said softly

Katie smiled softly. "Thanks." She said and sighed laying her head on his shoulder. It was nice to be with Reece. When he said things like that it didn't sound creepy like so many other men. It actually sounded nice.

Reece nodded her put his arm around her. He kissed her cheek lightly.

Katie sighed and sat there a moment with him before she took the cleaner and started to clean up her body getting all the stickiness off her then washing her hair out. It felt nice to be clean again.

Reece cleaned himself off similarly, before sitting back and relaxing in the hot waters.

Katie looked at Reece and snuggled into his side. "Reece. If something does happen and you are left alone I want you to know that you can count on me to take care of you. I will do everything to make sure you are alright okay? But you have to follow my instructions okay?" she asked and looked up at him. "It won't be easy if it comes to that but it will be okay." she said and rubbed his chest gently. "I just wanted you to know that no matter what you will be alright." she said softly.

Reece smiled softly, "thank you," he said lightly, "I don't know what I'd do without you?" he asked

Katie nodded. In this situation she thought it best for him to keep thinking that. She would think that by now one of his parents would have found a way to contact them. She was trying to keep a positive attitude about it for Reece's sake but she didn't think it was going to turn out well.

Reece climbed out of the spa and wrapped himself in a towel. He smiled at her softly, "I'll go try reach someone on the radio," he noted before heading inside

Kate nodded and bit her lip hoping he was going to be okay. She sighed knowing that if anything happened to his parents that wasn't going to be the case for a long while. Kate got out of the spa and closed it up taking her towel and herself to her room and changing then going around trying to do useful things in order to keep busy.
