gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove

  • "We'll do whatever we can to help." Callie assured him with a small smile. She could tell that he'd started to lose hope and she didn't want that to be the case at all. She was determined to help him figure out a way to save his brother, and when she set her mind to something, she didn't give up. "We're going to figure something out, Sam. I'm sure of it." She gave his hand a light squeeze.
Dean chuckled slightly at her words. "So it's not entirely weird for you then. It is for me though, so let's change the subject, alright?" He took a long sip of his drink, finishing off what was in the glass before setting it back down. He watched as she moved not the bed and laid back. Her later words surprised him. Rather, the blunt nature of them did. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were making assumptions about me, Red."

  • Sam let out a small , chuckle as he gave her hand a light squeeze back. "How do you still manage to be so optimistic," he asked. The young Winchester knew he had been that way once before as well but now he was turning into his brother, a pessimist who found it extremely hard to even see a silver lining in any situation.
Melody propped herself up on her elbows, giving a small nonchalant shrug to Dean's statement of her making assumptions. "Everyone has a type," she stated. "Man or women, gay or straight." She laid back down on the bed, rested her hands under head and stared up at the bland white ceiling of the hotel room. "To be fair you can try to guess what my type is."

  • "It's the best thing I can be in our line of work." Callie told him. With the amount of death that constantly surrounded hunters, it was so easy to have a pessimistic outlook on life. Callie tried her hardest not to be that way though. She tried to see the bright side no matter the situation whenever it seemed possible. "I remember someone else being that way too once..."
Dean nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right." He said. Everyone normally did have a type. He could tell that Sam normally had a thing for blondes. Callie was no exception to that fact. "I could try guessing your type or you could always tell me." He was still surprised by how she'd acted when he first tried introducing himself to her. He was sure that there was a reason for that though. He wouldn't pry and try to ask her though.

  • Sam nodded, a sad smile forming on his lips because he knew she was talking about him. When he was younger he thought even some of the monsters they hunted could be saved. Now that he was one of those monsters he wasn't sure if anything he once believed. He felt like the demon blood had put a strain on his relationship with his brother and now with Dean making the deal with the crossroads demon, he wasn't sure anything would go back to the way it used to be.
"It's always more fun to have someone guess to see if they have you pegged right," Melody replied. "I promise if you guess wrong I won't be hurt." She highly doubted his guess would be as bad as they guy who said his type was lesbian orgies. It was safe to say the perv got a nice kick to the crotch and a few of his teeth loosened from how hard she punched him in the jaw.
    March 26th, 2016 at 05:15pm
  • "I'm not going to ask you why that changed," Callie started. "But you should know that things do get better, and I'm sure that they will." Her outlook on everything had changed when she'd lost her father, the only family she had left, so she could see why Sam was losing hope now. Dean was his brother, and also the only family that he really had, so she could see why he'd gotten like this, in part. She only wished that he'd see that there was still a chance for things to get better, and she had hoped that they would.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Dean said, chuckling slightly. He liked to think that he might be able to figure out her type, or that he'd at least be able to make a decent guess as to what it was. He wasn't entirely certain if he'd be entirely accurate, and it was sort of a shot in the dark, but he figured why the hell not? He had nothing to lose right now anyway. "I think that you're into guys who catch you off guard. You like to be taken by surprise, but at the same time you're afraid of not knowing what's to come."
    March 27th, 2016 at 04:18am
  • "I'll try," Sam promised. "For you and myself." The younger Winchester brother honestly missed the man he used to be, optimist and farther away from the family buisness than he was now. At this point Sam was practically elbow deep in ganking the things that went bump in the night. It was making him tired and he knew it wasn't fair that he was still so young yet felt so old.
Melody sat up, smirking as she listened to Dean's guess. "You're not wrong," she chuckled. "I do hate surprises." She crossed her legs in front of her body, eyeing Dean the entire time she did. "Men with surprises can be fun until it becomes baggage."
    March 27th, 2016 at 04:50am
  • Callie nodded wordlessly. She was silent for a few moments, taking one last sip of her coffee before she spoke. "We should probably head back." She said quietly. They'd been sitting in that coffee shop for a while now, and there was still a case to handle. Of course, there were bigger things to deal with now too, like figuring out how to get Dean out of his deal with that crossroad's demon, but the case at the hotel was something a bit smaller.
"Not all surprises are a bad thing though." Dean told her. "And the only surprises that become baggage are the bad ones." He could see why she'd have something against them though. It made perfect sense. He didn't know very many people who really loved surprises or anything like that.
    March 27th, 2016 at 09:03pm
  • Sam nodded. "I'm sure Melody has gotten enough of Dean by now," he chuckled. He finished off his coffee, getting up and tossed his cup, waiting for Callie to do the same. He was glad he has been able to talk to her again. What he had talked her about and let her out was things he had wanted to say out loud for a very long time.
"It really doesn't help I always end up attracted to hunters or guys involved with whatever hunting trip we're on," Melody stated. She wouldn't complain about the sex that she sometimes ended up happening. It was usually afterwards that she learned what kind of baggage or mommy issues each guy had.
    March 27th, 2016 at 11:01pm
  • Callie laughed. "You're probably right." She said as she got to her feet. She tossed her cup into the trash as they walked out of the shop. It had been nice talking to Sam. They'd had a great deal of catching up to do, and there was likely more where it came from. If he wanted to talk though, she'd listen. She didn't want him to feel like he had no one to talk to. She wanted to be there for him like she had been when they were younger.
"I'm sure that doesn't always end well." Dean said. He assumed that all had something to do with how she'd reacted when he first introduced himself to her earlier and she rejected his handshake. He supposed she had every reason to be skeptical about him. He'd met a number of different male hunters who were complete douchebags.
    March 27th, 2016 at 11:44pm
  • "So why is she so standoffish at first," Sam asked. "She seemed totally different once she actually realized who we were." He knew the way he had worded his question seemed almost rude but it was really the only word he could really think of.
"Apparently I'm a douche bag magnet," Melody mumbled. She hated that she never could manage a relationship. Of course she knew as a hunter she could never really have one but it would be nice to fantasize just once that a relationship could work with a nice guy.
    March 27th, 2016 at 11:59pm
  • "Melody has her reasons." Callie said as they walked. "I think it would be better if she told you herself." She understood why Sam was curious, she just didn't want to delve into it too much when it was probably something better for Melody to explain herself. She didn't think Sam's question was rudely worded or anything, she just didn't want to be the person to offer Melody's story.
"Well, we aren't all douchebags, but there are quite a few of us who are." Dean said. He'd met a number of them while hunting, and a decent number of them were hunters as well, and they certainly gave others a bad name. "I'd tell you to go for Sam, but I'm pretty sure Callie beat you to the punch years ago." He joked.
    March 28th, 2016 at 01:57am
  • Sam nodded. He definitely wanted to know more about the redhead who was now traveling with Callie. If she meant a lot to Callie than he was sure Melody would end being a big part of his life now too. "So how old was she when you and your dad took her in? She doesn't look older than like twenty two."
"Sam isn't my type," Melody stated. "Moose with beautiful long flowing hair is Callie's type though," she joked. The redhead got up off the bed, grabbing a beer she had put in the beer, not caring she felt a little buzzed already from the whiskey she had already drank. "What was your first gank?"
    March 28th, 2016 at 02:39am
  • "She was just about finished with high school when we took her in." Callie told him. Melody was like a younger sister to her. She'd been so young when she and her dad had taken the redhead in. At first, she'd been a bit standoffish, but she'd warmed up to them. Losing her dad could have easily pushed the two apart, but it had actually brought them closer together. Callie refused to blame her for what had happened.
Dean chuckled slightly in response to her words. "Trust me, I know my brother is Callie's type." He said. He'd known that they'd end up together long before they actually did. They'd gotten close very quickly after Callie and her dad started hunting with them that summer. It wasn't long after that when they started dating. Dean used to tease Sam about how it would have happened sooner if he wasn't so awkward around pretty girls. "A vamp when I was ten."
    March 29th, 2016 at 01:54am
  • "So she's must be barely legal by now," Sam noted. From what Callie had said her father's death hadn't been too long ago. All Sam knew was that he was glad Callie wasn't alone so he was grateful to Melody for keeping her company. "I think I should buy her a drink to say thank you," he mumbled. "I know it's hard hunting on the road alone."
"A vampire was my first kill too," Melody stated. "I had barely turned eighteen and it was the vampire who killed Callie's dad." She had taken no mercy on the vampire and had actually been cruel and brutal to it. She had taken all of her anger and sadness on the vampire and she didn't regret how she had handled it at all.
    March 29th, 2016 at 03:20am
  • Callie nodded. "She's still young." She said. "She became like a little sister to me after dad and I took her in." It was nice having someone around to keep her company. It had always just been her and her dad, and if Melody hadn't been around, well, it would have been weird hunting alone. She could imagine that it got really lonely real fast. "Melody'll never turn down free alcohol." She let out a quiet laugh. "You do know I've always been able to take care of myself though, Winchester." She nudged him lightly.
Dean nodded. "How exactly did you get into the life?" He asked her curiously. "If you don't mind me asking." If she didn't feel comfortable or it was too much for her to talk about, he'd understand. He was just curious. He knew that Callie and her dad had taken her in, and he now knew her first kill had been the vamp who killed Callie's dad, but that was about it.
    March 30th, 2016 at 12:20am
  • Sam chuckled. "I never doubted you could take care of it," he replied. "I just know is sucks to be alone especially in our line of work." He assumed once dad disappeared that was why Dean came and got him because he needed company and someone to help find their dad. "Does she like a type of alchohol more than the rest," Sam questioned. He wondered if Melody was going to end having a similar personality to his brother's.
"John and Callie were hunting a ghost they thought was haunting the house my family lived in," Melody replied. "Halfway through them burning an salting the ghosts bones a group of vamp decided to feed one my family." The redhead looked away from Dean as tears began to form in her eyes. "For some reason they didn't feed on me. They beat me and left me for dead." It was later when John died she finally got revenge on the leader of the vampire nest and she knew some of the other members were still alive and she planned on killing every single one of them.

[Sorry I took so long to reply. I had the migraine from hell for most of yesterday so as soon as I got home from work I went straight to bed.]
    March 30th, 2016 at 06:14pm
  • [No worries, sorry I've been MIA. It's been a long week.]

Callie nodded. "It does, you're right." She said. If she didn't have Melody, she knew that her time on the road would get extremely lonely. She'd make do with what she had if she had to, even if that was just her, her car, the open road, and the promise of tons of evil sons of bitches to gank. "You can never go wrong with whiskey." She told him as they walked.
Dean didn't say anything, and just let her tell him how it all had gone down. He let out a low whistle once she'd finished. He could picture it all now. John and Callie going off to the cemetery to salt and burn the bones of whatever Casper they thought was haunting the house. When they got back, they found everyone in the house drained of their blood expect for Melody. "They took you in straight after that." He wasn't surprised. Callie and her father were good people.

  • Sam chuckled when Callie suggested whiskey. "I have a feeling she and Dean will probably get along pretty well." From what little he had interacted with he saw a few of things in Melody that he sometimes saw in his own brother. "I don't think I ever did ask," Sam mumbled. "How did Melody end up taking to hunting with you and your dad? I mean she's doing good now but when she was green."
"John said he saw a fire in my eyes," Melody stated. "I wanted everyone in that damn vampire nest for what they did." She took a drink of her tumblr of whiskey, tracing her finger on the glass as she stared at the amber liquid inside it. "When I finally did get a hold of the leader I'm pretty sure I was as bad as him. I wanted him to suffer and I prolonged every single thing I did because I thought it would make me feel better." She glanced up at Dean and then back at her glass. "After it was all done I felt even more empty," she mumbled.

  • "I'll be extremely surprised if they don't get along." Callie said, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She hoped that would be the case anyway. Melody hadn't called to see where she was though, so the blonde was assuming that all was well with the redhead and eldest Winchester. "A nest of vamps murdered her entire family. They left her alive." She frowned slightly as she thought back to that case and how unexpected the vamps had been.
"That's usually what happens." Dean said. "You search for so long to find the one thing that might make things better, and once it's done, you're worse off." He shook his head slightly. It sucked, but it was the truth. There was still a part of him that wasn't entirely satisfied now that he and Sam had ganked Yellow Eyes. His mother was still dead. That wasn't going to change.
    April 4th, 2016 at 12:01am
  • "I thought you and John showed up because of a ghost," Sam questioned. Why would vampires randomly show up and leave Melody alive. That honestly didn't make sense to the younger Winchester brother. From the way Callie had stated what happened she seemed to be just as confused as he was at that exact moment.
"Did you feel emptier after it was all said and done too," Melody asked. After she had killed the leader of the nest and then a few of his lackeys she felt numb but somehow empty at the same time. It had felt like she was waking from a long dream afterwards.
