Ember had started to feel where her power sat yesterday when he was teaching Jade. She was thinking it sat in her chest but maybe she would try again just to be sure.

When Issac took her hand she stopped looking down at his hand in hers. She felt the buzz there and it was nice, a comfort. Ember looked up at him amazed that he believed in her. She felt sad at the thought. He asked if she believed in herself and she wished she could say yes but she couldn't. She looked down until he dropped her hand.

Ember looked up at him watching. He took the necklace off and put it around her neck. She could feel his finger tips brush her hair away from her neck and she shivered with delight her cheeks pinking.

He told her what the stone was. She touched it looking at it amazed. It was beautiful. How did he know she had nightmares? Maybe it came with the fright and insecurities, he might have seen it before. "Issac this... Are you sure?" Ember looked up at him. "It is special to you." She said able to tell easily.

He said to let it ground her. He wouldn't let her hurt him. She bit her lip and prayed that it was true. She let it fall back onto her chest it's weight reminding her it was there. She smiled and hugged Issac her arms tossed around his neck. She hadn't meant to take him by surprise but she had never felt like anyone had really believed in her before.

Ember's abrupt hug surprised a startled laugh from Issac, but regardless, he wrapped his own arms around her waist, lifting her off her feet for a moment.

"I'm sure," he told her as he set her back down and released her. "You've more use for it than I right now, and I think Bethan would agree too."

Issac grinned a little, reaching out to pluck the stone from her chest and ran his thumb over the familiar bumps.

"Besides, it suits you," he said. "Natural beauty..."

He trailed off and let the stone gently drop back, quirking a small smile.

[Sorry it's not longer!! I wasn't sure if you wanted more input in the discussion, and didn't want to just move it away on their journey!]

    [its ok]

Ember laughed with delight as Issac picked her up. She smiled as he set her back down, her eyes lighting up and her smile radiant.

She was looking forward to meeting Bethan. "Thank you Issac." She said and gasped softly as he grabbed the stone. She watched his fingers move over the stone.

He complimented her and she turned red. Ember smiled and watched as the stone fell back onto her chest. She thought his smile was really cute. She fell into step with him as they slowly headed on their journey.

Ember spent some time trying to find where her power sat as they walked. She ran her fingers over the stone her powers stirring in a new way. She set the stone down. By the time that they stopped for a break she was sure. "It sits in my chest." She said breaking their silence.

Issac had sat on the ground when they stopped for a break, and was busying himself with making a fire to cook with when Ember spoke.

"Your chest," he repeated thoughtfully. "Is there a more specific area? I- you don't have to tell me, if you don't want to. But sometimes it can mean different things, whether your lungs, your heart, things like that. My mother felt hers in her lungs, sometimes when I was a kid it was like she could pull the air from a room with one breath."

He got to his feet and searched for some suitable sticks to use in order to cook the sausages he had in his pack, better now when there was still some of the day ahead, than leaving it too late and risking an obvious fire in the dark.

"I guess either way it means you're passionate," Issac said eventually as he sat back down. "But that something most people could guess anyway. If it's in your heart, it might be harder to control at times. At least, that's what some people think. Particularly when the heart and the mind want different things, the heart might try to get what it wants..."

Issac stripped the sticks of dirty bark as he thought. He rummaged in his pack for the sausages and unwrapped them, pocketing the twine used to tie the small parcel for later use.

"It could explain why you've found your powers so... unwieldy," he mused. "If they've a stronger link to your emotions."

"Your mother was a fire type?" Ember asked really surprised. Normally elementals only gave birth within the same element. If an elemental was fire it would give birth to a fire type. Her own mother had been a fire type. And her father had been an air type.

Ember nodded as he talked about it. It would make sense but she felt it all through her chest. "I guess it is mostly in my heart but it's everywhere in my chest. It's like a flame in the center of my chest the warmth spreading out with like a burning vine wrapping around me..." She blushed. "The vines wrap around and spreads getting colder the farther away they get. It sounds silly." She said.

"It sure does make more sense now that I understand it a little." She said and watched him hugging her knees. She twittled with the stone between her fingers.

"So what is the next step?" She asked not sure if he was going to help her use her powers and gain control.

[feel free to come up with things. Let me know if you need any ideas.]

    Issac shook his head.

"She was air, like me, it was just... she'd do this thing, when we were kids. She'd breathe in deep and pull the breezes towards her. Bethan's hair would flutter, it would feel like she could pull us right in just like that... she felt hers in her lungs, my da was earth and his was in his hands. He worked hard, I always liked to feel the wind on our face... where our powers lie, it seems to reflect a little of who we are."

Issac smiled and shrugged a shoulder, busying his hands by beginning to cook.

"It doesn't sound silly, if your heart pumps blood, why can't it pump your power too? It's natural, it can set root and grow like anything else."

He speared the sausages on the sticks, turning them over the flames.

"I suppose the next step if seeing if you can summon fire willingly," he mused, watching the camp fire flicker, light week in the face of the sun. "Without the need for an intense emotion. Doesn't matter where it goes, doesn't matter how strong it is, aim and control can come later."

Ember smiled as he said she wasn't silly. It made sense even more as he spoke. She nodded and relaxed. "Thanks Issac." She said.

So basicly her power was in her heart sending it into her veins. She liked that. It was beautiful in a way. Ember wondered what it said about her that her power ran through her like that.

Issac told her the next step and she nodded. It would be hard not to use any emotion. Fire was easy but no emotions? She didn't know if she could. "How do you do that? I can use any emotion even the memory of emotion but to not use one at all. I don't know how... But I can use a less intense one but my fire won't be as big or out of control." Ember said.

Ember put out her palm and a small flame light in her palm. She could have made it bigger but she was scared it would spark and catch fire to something. "I can do the other too." She said and blushed as he looked at her fire.

She kind of wanted to show him something she knew would be kind of impressive but she wasn't comfortable enough to show off just yet. She could change the color and shape of her fire. To Ember her fire was easy to make but controlling it was hard.

    Issac quirked a smile.

"More making it from will, rather than relying on strong feelings at the time... but it seems you can already do that..."

He trailed off, looking at the flame curiously.

"If you can do that much, why were you so concerned about lighting the fire the other night?" he asked, bemused. "You can easily light tinder off that..."

He looked from the flame in Ember's hand, to the flames of the campfire and shrugged.

"Perhaps we best start with you telling me what you can do then?" he suggested. "I'd the impression it was completely out of control."

Ember smiled as he looked at her fire. She didn't feel ashamed when he looked at it but then he asked her why she didn't burn the wood.

Ember frowned and looked down. She blushed not knowing how to explain. "That requires burning something. I... I can't control it once it starts to burn things. I... I get afraid." She said.

"I can do a lot. But I don't know how much. I never tried to see. And it's easy to hold and creat fire but when it moves away from my body then it gets hard. I can't put fire out once there is to much. I never nave been able to but I think if I could control it..."

Ember was strong but she was afraid of her fire. If she wasn't so afraid she would be very strong.
