Lately I've Been Craving More

  • "I treat you like a five year old because you're constantly acting like a five year old." Wend countered, sticking her tongue out at him. She let out a quiet laugh soon after and shook her head. "Wait until you get all four of us in a room together." Sam said in response to Sebastian's siblings comment. She smiled when Sebastian took her hand and laced their fingers together, squeezing his hand lightly before scooting over to his side of the backseat.
"Well, I was the meatball you met in college before I was Steve Rogers, so that makes sense." Chris said before taking a sip of his beer. He smiled at her later words. "Well, I'm glad that I'll always be the same dorky guy from college to you." He chuckled softly. He was glad that he had a friend like Annie. He was glad that she was back in his life. She meant just as much to him as his family did.

Annie smiled and nodded, "I'm just glad to see that being Steve Rogers hasn't changed you. Not that I ever thought it would. You've never been like that." Annie said as she shoved a forkful of food into her mouth. She was really glad that Chris hadn't changed at all in the years apart, and that he was still the same dork that he was when they were in college together.

    ---

Sebastian rolled his eyes at her words and shook his head, "And I only act like a five year old because you treat me like one." He said in response and smiled. He laughed when she said to wait until all of her siblings got into a room together, "I look forward to it." He replied with a laugh. He could already see that despite the teasing that Sam and Wendy were close, and he figured that the same would probably go for their other two siblings.

  • "Well, you're about to find out what it's like when all four of us are in the same room." Sam said as they arrived at their destination. Logan and Maria Finch still lived in the same house near the Jersey shoreline that they had for thirty five years now. Seeing her childhood home always seemed to put a smile on Wendy's face. She was in the process of getting her suitcase out of the back of the van when the front door slammed open, catching her attention. "Aunt Wendy, Aunt Wendy!" Her niece and nephew shouted as they ran over and practically tackled her. "Munchkins!" Wendy exclaimed with a laugh as she embraced both of her brother's kids tightly.
Chris smiled at her words. "You always had more faith in me than I ever had in myself." He said. She was always the one telling him to go for the part, audition or gig. When he didn't think he had it in him, she told him that he did. "You know, I almost didn't take the Steve Rogers gig. The thought of being signed on for a multi-contract deal freaked me out." He didn't know where he'd be right now without the role though. Steve Rogers was a part of him now, even though the star spangled man was a much better person than Chris ever saw himself being.

Annie nodded at his words, "I won't argue with you on that one." She said as she took a drink from her wine. When he spoke about not taking the role of Steve Rogers, she shook her head, "Well I'm glad you did because if you hadn't then Wendy would have been working on Civil War with somebody else as Steve Rogers and she would have been trying to set me up with someone else, and then I wouldn't have been able to see you again after all that time." She explained with a frown before she shoved more food into her mouth.

    ---

Sebastian nodded as they pulled up at Wendy's childhood home. Sebastian took in the house and smiled before getting out of the car and walking to grab his suitcase and Wendy's as well. He looked over when he heard yelling for Wendy and he smiled to see her niece and nephew running toward her for a hug. Sebastian could easily already tell that Wendy loved her niece and nephew a lot, and he could see that they loved her just as much. Sebastian had been around a couple times when she spoke about them and Sebastian was excited to meet the little ones who hold Wendy's heart so tightly.

  • Wendy was very fond of her niece and nephew. That much was evident whenever she saw them or spoke of them, and the only thing she disliked about living in Georgia was that she was the farthest from them that she'd been, well, ever. The Finch family was close and very tight-knit. The only other time she had ever been close to this far from any of them was when she'd done the Disney College Program her freshmen year of college. That was why she always tried to be home for birthdays and holidays whenever she could. Thankfully, the breaks in the filming schedule aligned perfectly with the weekend of her dad's birthday and this visit was made possible. "Look at you two! You're both getting so big!" Her comment caused her niece to go into this elaborate story about how she had lost another one of her front teeth and how the tooth fairy had left her twenty dollars by mistake instead of a $5. "She must have been a training fairy, Aunt Wendy! Daddy and mommy think so too! No one ever gets $20 for one tooth!" Her niece said animatedly. Wendy laughed. "Maybe your teeth are just extra special to her for some reason." She said.
"I still can't believe neither of us really realized who the other was until Wendy tricked you into coming to set." Chris said with a slight chuckle. It was crazy how small the world could really be, and he was thankful for that. He was glad that Annie was back in his life. She had become one of his closest friends before they started dating, and it had honestly sucked and hurt pretty damn bad to lose his best friend and his girlfriend all at the same time because he'd decided to royally fuck things up for himself. "I think Steve Rogers is a part of me more than I ever imagined him being. I don't think I ever really saw myself getting this attached to a role. I'm glad I've started branching out a little bit, but I'll always be thankful for this opportunity."

Annie nodded in agreement at his words, "You're right. I always heard that there was a Chris Evans playing Captain America, but I guess I just didn't want to believe that it was you." She replied with a small laugh. When he spoke about his connection to the role of Steve Rogers, she smiled at how passionate he was about the role, it was clear to see that he loved it, "I'm glad that you were given this opportunity. I don't think anybody else could play Captain America like you can." She stated honestly with a smile.

    ---

Sebastian smiled at the scene before him as Wendy's nephew spoke about how the tooth fairy messed up and gave him twenty dollars for his tooth. He looked over when he noticed Wendy's niece looking at Sebastian with a confused look, "Aunt Wendy, who's he?" She asked curiously as she tugged on Wendy's sleeve and looked up at Sebastian. He smiled and crouched down, sticking out his hand to her, "I'm Sebastian." He replied. He wasn't sure whether or not to tell them that he was Wendy's boyfriend, so he figured he would wait for Wendy to explain it to them or until later.

Wendy listened as her nephew told her an elaborate story about losing his tooth and the tooth fairy messing up and giving him extra money on accident. "I don't think it was an accident, kid. Finch teeth are extra special, that's probably why she gave you twenty dollars." She said just before her niece tugged on her sleeve and asked about Sebastian. She smiled when her boyfriend crouched down so he was at the same level as her niece and stuck his hand out to her. "Aren't you Captain America's friend?" Her nephew asked, chiming in, before Wendy could provide any sort of an explanation.
Chris chuckled. "Well, I never imagined that the Annabelle Wendy was always talking about would end up being you." He said. He still sometimes wondered how the world could have possibly been that small, but he wasn't going to complain about it either. He was glad that he had her back in his life. He'd fucked up big time once before, and he wasn't about to do it a second time. He smiled at her later words. "Thanks, Annie. That means a lot." He sometimes doubted himself and his acting abilities, but comments like that made him realize those thoughts in his head couldn't possibly be right.

Annie smiled at Chris's words, "I just remember Wendy coming home one day and telling me all about the cast members she had met but focusing specifically on you and Sebastian, for obvious reasons for each of you, and I just remember her telling me how much I would get along with this Chris guy, 'Tink! You guys are both from Boston. You two are so similar, and I'm pretty sure you two went to colleges close to each other. How crazy is that?!' Yeah so crazy because it ended up being you, but at the time when she was telling me about you, I wasn't paying much attention if I'm being honest. It never really struck me that she was trying to set us up." She admitted with a laugh before she took a sip of her drink.

    ---

Sebastian smiled at Wendy's nephew's story telling about why the tooth fairy gave him extra money. When he asked if he was Captain America's friend, he smiled and nodded, "Yup, that's me." He said and stuck out his hand for her nephew to shake. He smiled when the boy took his hand and shook it, "You got a firm grip, kid, that's good. Firm handshakes are always good. Don't lose that." Sebastian said and grinned. It was funny to him that was he recognized as Captain America's friend. Sure, he had been in both of the Captain America movies, but it still was hard for him to realize sometimes that he did portray the role of Bucky sometimes and that's how a lot of people knew him.

  • Wendy knew that Sebastian still wasn't used to having people recognize him. She was honestly kind of surprised that her nephew had picked up on who he was as quickly as he had, though she supposed it made sense. If there was anyone in the Finch family who loved Marvel movies as much as she did it was probably her nephew. "Your arm's not metal." Her nephew said, causing Wendy to let out a laugh. She couldn't help it. At around the same time that he said that, or shortly after rather, her niece chimed in with, "Are you Aunt Wendy's boyfriend?"
Chris chuckled. "I honestly didn't think she was trying to set us up all of the times she would bring you up in conversation, but I should have known she and Seb were up to something. I don't know why they were so focused on getting us together when they couldn't even realize that they were attracted to each other, but that ship has finally sailed." He ate another bite of his food. He was glad that his friends were happy now, and he had a feeling that they'd be together for a while. He just had this gut feeling.

Annie laughed at his words before taking a bite from her food and nodding, "You're completely right. Like I honestly wished they wouldn't have spent so much time on us and just focused on them. I've never met a more stubborn pair." She replied before taking a sip of her wine. She was more than excited that Sebastian and Wendy were finally together, she just hated how long it took them to realize how perfect they had been for each other and got together sooner. Regardless, they were together now and that was all that mattered, and Annie knew the pair would be together for a long time.

    --

Sebastian chuckled lightly at her nephew's words, "I'm just wearing a cover right now. Can't have Hydra finding out where I am." He stated, playing along with her nephew's words. He looked over and raised an eyebrow at her niece's following words, "Actually, I am her boyfriend. I mean if that's okay with you two?" He questioned. He knew how much Wendy loved her niece and nephew, and he could see how much they loved him, so he knew he would need their approval just as much as everyone else's.

  • Wendy smiled as she watched Sebastian interact with her niece and nephew. She had never seen him with kids firsthand, but it was clear that he was really good with them. She thought it was the cutest thing honestly, and so goddamn attractive too. If it was even possible for her to find him any more attractive than she already did anyway. "What do you two think?" She asked, placing her hands on her hips. "Should I keep him?" She was only joking, but she did want them to like Sebastian. He was important to her, but her family was just as important, and she wanted everyone in the family to approve of him. "Weeelll, you've seemed super happy when we talked on the phone lately, Aunt Wendy, so I think he must be why you're so happy." Her niece said. "And he's Captain America's best friend!" Her nephew chimed in causing Wendy to laugh. "I think you've got their seal of approval." She told her boyfriend before looking back to her niece and nephew as her niece spoke. "Aunt Lily isn't very happy right now. I think it's cause Justin isn't with her." Wendy's eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion. Justin was her sister's boyfriend. He never really missed any family get-togethers. "Don't you worry, I'll talk to her and see if I can cheer her up."
"At least they finally came to their senses." Chris said with a slight chuckle. "Took them long enough, but at least they finally did." He seriously didn't think he'd ever met anyone as stubborn as those two. "I was starting to think we were going to have to resort to locking them in a closet together and hoping that something would happen." That wasn't something that they had to worry about anymore. Their friends were finally together, and Chris had a feeling that wasn't going to change anytime soon, or, well, ever. He knew that they had only just gotten together, but they were pretty much perfect for each other.

Annie laughed at Chris's words, "I agree." She replied and finished off her glass of wine, pouring another right after. She was glad that they wouldn't have to resort to locking Wendy and Sebastian into a closet, "Do you remember when we were in college and we were almost locked in a closet by Scott?" She questioned with a laugh, "We were having a spat and I remember Scott being so mad because we were supposed to be going out to dinner in an hour and we weren't talking and he threatened to lock us in the closet in your bedroom at home unless we made up so we could leave." Annie recalled and took a sip of her wine and let out a giggle as she thought about it more, "I honestly can't even remember what that fight was about." She admitted. She only ever remembered one fight that they had, and that was a fight that she never wanted to talk about again.

    ---

Sebastian resisted the urge to roll his eyes at Wendy's words and instead stuck out his bottom lip at her niece and nephew as he pouted to try and get their approval. When her niece gave her seal of approval, he grinned widely and then let out a laugh when her nephew said how he was Captain America's best friend. Sebastian watched as Wendy talked with her niece about her sister. From what Sebastian had learned from the flight here, Lily was Wendy's sister, and Justin was Lily's boyfriend who didn't miss any family gatherings. He raised an eyebrow at Wendy, silently asking her if she needed him for anything.
    September 18th, 2017 at 10:33pm
  • Wendy couldn't help laughing when she glanced over to her boyfriend and saw that he was pouting as he waited to hear if he got her niece and nephew's seal of approval. He was such a child himself sometimes. Not that she was any better, truth be told. "I'm glad that you both approve. I guess he might make me happy." She said, sending a grin her boyfriend's way before she turned back to her niece and nephew. "Where is everyone else?" She asked curiously. "They're all in the backyard, 'cept for Aunt Lily. She came inside a little while ago." Her nephew told her. "Well, why don't we head inside and see everyone else then I'll talk to your other aunt and see what's going on?"
Chris chuckled at Annie's words and nodded. "How could I possibly forget? I don't think I've ever seen Scott get so aggravated before in my life." He said, shaking his head. He recalled exactly when his brother had threatened to lock them in a closet. "I'm honestly surprised that he didn't just do it, though I guess if he did then that might prolong us all going to dinner. He was already pretty hangry to begin with." He chuckled once more. "It was something pointless, I know that, because I can't remember what it was about either."

Annie laughed at his words and nodded, "I'm sure if we asked Scott about it, he would be able to tell us exactly what it was about." She joked before she finished her food and tucked her legs under her on her chair as she sipped on her wine. She loved times like these with Chris. Just laughing and goofing off. The music in the background changed to something slower, and Annie got very excited. She set down her wine glass and ran over to the stereo, turning up Can't Help Falling In Love loudly. Annie's mother always loved Elvis and raised her to be a big Elvis fan. Annie sat back down in her seat and started singing along happily.

    ---

Sebastian stuck his tongue out at her when she said he might make her happy before she spoke with her niece and nephew. Sebastian grabbed their things and looked over at his girlfriend, "I can go take our things inside if you want to have a moment alone with your sister." He suggested. He could tell that what was going on was family business, and he didn't want to impose on his first meeting with the family. Sebastian wanted to lay low and make a great first impression on her family. Wendy continued to reassure him during the flight her family would love him, but he was still anxious as ever. What if he said the wrong thing? What if he made himself look like an asshole? That wasn't a hard task to accomplish sometimes, and he really didn't want to do that in front of her family.
    November 5th, 2017 at 05:53am
  • Wendy laughed and mimicked her boyfriend's actions, sticking her tongue out at him. She smiled when he offered to take their things inside so that she could go talk to her sister. "You're the best. I think we're staying in my old room, second door on the right once you walk up the stairs." She pressed a kiss to his cheek before walking in the house. Once inside, she found her sister standing against the counter in the kitchen, nursing a Corona. "Penny for your thoughts?" She asked, punctuating her words with a raised eyebrow. Her sister looked up, mustering a weak smile when she saw Wendy standing there. "Hey, I didn't realize you were here." Lilly said quietly. "Seb and I just got here a few minutes ago. The little monsters ambushed me outside." She let out a laugh.
Chris chuckled. "I wouldn't be surprised at all, honestly. He remembers the weirdest shit." He said, shaking his head. "I'll ask him next time I talk to him, see what he says." He was honestly kind of curious as to what the argument had been about. He seriously couldn't remember, which left him to believe it was something dumb and petty. He watched her face light up when the music in the background changed, chuckling. He wasn't at all surprised. She had always loved Elvis.

Annie grinned at the look on Chris's face before she stood up and smiled at him, "Dance with me." She stated as she looked at him, "We haven't danced during dinner since college. It used to be our tradition." She said. Usually they danced to their song, Drops of Jupiter by Train, but every so often a slow song would come on, usually an Elvis one, and Annie would ask Chris to dance with her. Most of the times they would slow dance in their dining room with only the candles lit for their dinner, but sometimes they would wander into the living room when an upbeat song came on and they wanted to dance around.

    ---

Sebastian smiled at her words before he walked inside with Wendy and headed to where she said her room was. He walked in and looked around with a smile, this was definitely a Wendy room. He set down the suitcases and went to work unpacking some things for her, so she wouldn't have to later. He didn't want to impose on her conversation with Lily because he didn't know the girl that well yet, so he had no reason to be present for the conversation. If he needed to know what was going on, Wendy would tell him.
    November 6th, 2017 at 02:52am
  • Lilly mustered a small smile though she didn't laugh, and Wendy knew straight away that something was off with her sister. She was someone who was always smiling, and their dad's nickname for her was Sunshine because of her, well, sunny personality. "Alright, what's up?" Wendy questioned, leaning against the counter as she eyed her sister with a raised eyebrow. "Nothing's wrong, Wen--" Wendy gave her sister a look. "That's bullshit and we both know it is." Her sister let out a sigh and averted her gaze across the room, fingers tapping lightly against the top of her Corona bottle. "Where's Justin? I thought he was supposed to be here." Wendy commented when her sister didn't respond to her words. "That fucking douchebag better not show his face here." Wendy's eyebrows rose, her sister only really cursed when she was pissed off. And clearly her sister was pissed. "Annnndddd there it is. What did he do? Because I'm not opposed to being put up on murder charges." Her sister shook her head. "He's not worth it, Wen. I just wish I hadn't wasted four years on scum like him."
"Well, I wouldn't want to break a tradition." Chris said with a smile as he stood up moved to where Annie was standing. He was brought back to their days in college as he laid his hands on her waist and drew her in closer, swaying their bodies a bit before they got to one part in the song and he took her hand in his so that he could twirl her, chuckling as he did so. He couldn't help thinking that she would likely be the death of him. He knew that he told Wendy and Sebastian all the time that he and Annie were only friends and they were likely going to stay that way this time around, and that was likely why the thought that ran through his head seemed to shock him a bit and catch him off guard. "We should do this more often."

Annie smiled when she and Chris started swaying back and forth as they danced. When Chris twirled her, she grinned even wider. She looked up at him slightly when he spoke, an amused glint in her eyes, "The dinner or the dancing?" She questioned and shot him a smirk. If she was being honest, Annie would love to be like this with him whenever she could. Annie loved being in Chris's arms and just being surrounded by him. Nights where it was just the two of them were some of her favorite nights. Annie never felt like she had to put on a show for Chris, and it had always been that way between them. She was able to relax around him and just be herself.

  • "So, what you're saying is he totally deserves to get his ass kicked then. Does Sam know? Because if I don't do it, you know that he will." Wendy said. She was ready to go find her sister's ex and give him a piece of her mind. She didn't know fully what had happened since Lilly hadn't told her exactly what had happened, but her sister was clearly upset, so she knew that it was something that Justin had done and not the other way around. "It's not important, Wen, honestly. I have school to focus on anyway. I need to keep my grades up if I want to try to get that internship next semester." Lilly told her. Wendy frowned slightly, but nodded. "Alright, but we're totally having a Netflix and ice cream night while I'm home this weekend, alright? And we're going to Cliff's at some point too...I've been wanting to get some new ink, and I'm not taking no for an answer so you're better off just smiling and nodding your head." She gave her sister's shoulder a squeeze before heading upstairs to see where Sebastian had gone off to. She found him in her old bedroom where she'd told him to take their bags. "Hey, sorry. Boyfriend drama." She explained before glancing around her room. Posters of different bands and TV shows she'd been really into when she was in high school and college still hung on the walls, and there was a pin board with a few pictures that had been taken around that time as well. "Literally nothing's changed in here since I was last here."
Chris really had missed this. All of it. The dinner. The dancing. Just being with Annie really. And he knew that they had been hanging out a lot since they were reacquainted a few months ago, but this right now made it all feel as though nothing had changed at all. And he liked that feeling a lot which honestly kind of scared him because he knew what had happened last night. He wasn't going to let himself fuck things about again like he had when they were in college. He refused to let that happened ever again. Annie was back in his life for a reason, and he intended on keeping it that way. He chuckled softly at her words. "Both actually." He said as he drew her back in after twirling her around. "God, it feels like we're in college again. I almost feel like I have a paper I should be writing or an exam to study for." He let out another laugh. "It's honestly crazy how long ago that was, but it's not like we get older or anything so it doesn't matter how long ago it was." He grinned.
