Abigail shook her head and curled into his lap. She let the tears fall from her eyes, but never making a sound. She didn't feel like talking, she didn't feel like moving, she didn't feel like doing anything. She was giving up on trying to fight this, she knew it was inevitable.
Her phone beeped from the side of the bed. She didn't move, she just stared at it. She had a feeling it might be Brian, hopefully telling her that he got it.
"Of course!" He said, sitting up and looking at her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to without you. I just felt my high coming down." He cupped her cheek in his hand and ran his thumb over her bottom lip.
"I love being high with you too. I feel like it's just me and you, no one else matters. I feel like, we connect on a different level." He said looking deep into her eyes. He kissed her lips softly. He couldn't help but think of how high he just sounded, but he didn't care, it was the truth.
