Olivia’s cheeks instantly were set ablaze with the burning tint of embarrassment. She tucked a loose strand of her blonde hair behind her ear and adjusted the way that her camera bag was strapped onto her shoulder. “Thanks,” she smiled genuinely at him. “I barely landed this job—I got my portfolio together just in time and—“ she stopped herself from rambling on and on about insignificant things. She looked down, and then back up at him, a smile still prominent on her face. “I’m Olivia,” she introduced herself. She motioned towards her sister, “And this is my sister Brooklyn.”

Olivia bit down on the inside of her cheek, her attention snapping back towards her sister as she heard her comment. She scrunched her nose playfully at her sister, “Shut it, you wouldn’t have come if I didn’t and you know you are loving every minute of this.”

Olivia looked back up and smiled, mouthing towards Jared and Jensen “Big fan,
Jeffrey could feel the way that the smaller girl tensed beneath him, not a normal reaction he generally got. His face showed the small bit of disappointment as she pulled away from the embrace far too quickly than what he would have liked. He licked the bottom of his lip briefly, giving her another smile. “Well, that was pretty fuckin’ cool of her to do.”

Jeffrey walked back over to the couch, sitting down where he had been before. He patted the seat next to him and nodded his head, “Come have a seat. Let’s all get to know each other a little.”

Although he couldn’t quite place his finger on it, something was drawing the older man to the woman who was walking his way to do as he asked. She was so fragile—almost broken in a way that he couldn’t quite understand. The way she carried herself with the lack of confidence blew his mind… She had to have been one of the most beautiful women he had seen in such a long time. There was no need for her to hold herself the way she did.

"Are you trying to say that it's fate, sweetheart?" Jensen asked in a light, teasing tone as he raised an eyebrow. He shifted slightly and patted the spotted beside him. "Come on, sit and we can talk for a bit. We should have at least half an hour longer before the photo ops begin so there's no time like the present, right?" He asked with a small grin, only for his brows to raise at Olivia mouthing the words at them.

Jensen took a deep breath and straightened, rubbing his hands on his jeans. He turned to Olivia once she sat and offered a small grin. "So have you always been into photography? Is it what you want to do as a career?" He asked quietly as he tilted his head to the side. He wasn't sure if he could ask too many questions - he had just met the girl and despite being interested, he certainly didn't want to scare her away. And he didn't want to get too involved if it turned out she was only interested because of his name.

"If you want, I'm sure someone can take some photos with us together, that way you don't have to wait in line for the photo ops. How's that sound?"
Brooklyn grinned a bit as she glanced to her sister, chewing on her bottom lip. "She's pretty damn cool, I have to admit," she admitted quietly, playing with the edge of her shirt. It was a nervous habit of hers, it had started nearly at the beginning of her current relationship. Everything about her was nerves and anxiety, afraid to anger anyone in even the slightest bit. As far as she figured, anyone could snap because Brett had been so amazing in the beginning and then things had changed. But it was her fault, right? It must be.

Despite everything screaming for her not to do as Jeffrey asked, in the back of her mind, Brooklyn knew she had no choice. She cleared her throat as she stepped over to the couch, slowly sitting down. Her shoulders were curled in on herself, not wanting to get too close and risk overstepping boundaries with Jeff. She couldn't give him the wrong impression, right? She couldn't tell him that his grin made her heart race in a way that she wasn't familiar with, the way that his arms felt strong and like they weren't ready to break her and the first sign of being a 'brat'. No, she was just a fan that he would soon forget about.

"So, um," Brooklyn started uneasily, chewing on her bottom lip. "How is the tour treating you?" She figured it was a safe topic.

Olivia smiled at Jensen, a small amount of pride resounding throughout her as he mentioned photography. The young woman had worked so, so damn hard to get herself through school. She found her eyes lingering on his for longer than she thought necessary and she let out a small laugh. “Yeah, I have always really loved taking pictures… Since I was younger. I take pictures of just about everything pretty much.” Her eyes were bright as she spoke about her passion. “I’ve made a career out of it—well, I am trying to at least. Expanding slowly.”

Olivia’s eyes went wide as he mentioned the photo op and she shook her head nervously, “No, no. I couldn’t bother you guys for a picture.” She scrunched her nose slightly and laugh, “I take them, not the other way around.” She smiled at him, “I really appreciate that gesture though, but uh,” she motioned with her head over towards her sister. “If you wouldn’t mind me getting a group photo of her with ya’ll that would be awesome.”
Jeffrey’s eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the girl next to him. He was so curious as to why she was so antsy. Sure, she had mentioned she was a fan, but that type of nervousness usually wore off after a few minutes. He reached out, and placed a hand on her knee for a moment, hoping to help calm some of the nerves that she was exhibiting.

Jeff nodded and smiled at her question, “It’s been good. Pretty busy but good. I am kind of glad it is starting to wind down tho… Definitely ready to relax a while.”

Jeffrey ran a hand through his hair, her nervousness beginning to wash over him—or so he thought. He wanted so badly to ask if the girls were single, maybe invite them out to the drinks afterward, but he wasn’t sure if she would even accept. She seemed to be so skeptical of the entire situation and the last thing he wanted was to make her even more uncomfortable. “So, uh, what is it that you do?”

"Just her?" Jensen asked, glancing toward Brooklyn who he offered a wide smile. He shook his head and twisted back around to face Olivia with a slight frown. "No. You can take a group picture with her but then, I'm sure I can snag someone in here to take a group picture with you both and even just one solo. Come on, you can't tell me that you'll regret getting a picture with us, sweetheart. Please?" He asked, jutting his bottom lip out in a pout.

"Can you really say no to this face? Be honest now," he teased, nudging her gently with his elbow.
Brooklyn's breath was stolen when Jeffrey's hand settled on her knee. Her eyes widened as her lips parted, part in panic because Ohgod if he could see now... but this was happening and there was no way Brett was here. There was no way he would find out so what did a hand on her knee matter? Jeffrey would forget about her and she would carry on with her life after today. She was sure of it.

She smiled a bit as Jeffrey spoke, nodding along. She didn't want to seem uninterested, in fact she was cementing his words in her mind. There would never be another time she got to talk to Jeffrey, she wanted to remember this as much as she could. "That's good, I'm glad you're enjoying it. You definitely deserve to."

"Oh, um. I want to go to school to become a vet tech one day but right now, I'm focusing on just..." Brooklyn trailed off, her tongue brushing across her bottom lip in an attempt to stall the conversation. She didn't know how to answer the question now because she had no doubt Olivia was probably listening in and she had to play this right if she didn't want any more trouble when she got home. "My, uh, boyfriend," she mumbled, her head dropping a bit as her stomach lurched. "He's, he's uh, going to school and we can't really afford for us both to go so..." She trailed off with a shrug of her shoulders. It felt wrong lying to Jeff but she saw no other choice. Brett housed her, he made sure she was fed, he made sure she was cared for in almost every way. There would never be school in her future, Brooklyn knew, but the thought of it made her frown deepen ever so slightly.

Olivia smiled, butterflies swirling around in her core. Her cheeks turned pink once more as she watched the man in front of her asking her to get a picture with them. Her out of all people… She shook her head, looking away from him briefly. She turned her eyes back towards his, begging herself not to allow her eyes to linger on his for too long. “Well, I mean I can if you absolutely insist.

Olivia licked her bottom lip, shifting around in the seat she was sitting in. “So, uhm, if you don’t mind me asking… What made you invite us back? Just because you hadn’t seen us before?”
Jeffrey’s heart dropped a bit as she mentioned the word boyfriend. He wasn’t sure what had made it happened the most, the fact that the woman sitting in front of him wasn’t single or the almost utter distaste that she had when she spoke of the man. Jeffrey had been pretty good at reading people, and the body language and tone that the woman next to him was exuding made him a little suspicious. He chewed on his bottom lip for a moment, reminding himself that it wasn’t his place to poke and prod and ask too many questions.

Jeffrey reached up, running a hand through his hair. “Well, I mean, if you want to go to school have you tried looking into scholarships or financial aid? I’m sure there is something you can do to at least take online classes or something.”

"I do insist!" Jensen exclaimed with a small smirk on his face. He looked to her with a raised eyebrow, "So I guess that means you have to then, doesn't it?"

Jensen grew quiet when Olivia questioned him. He cleared his throat and looked down to his lap, finally shrugging his shoulders after a moment. "Uh, yeah. I guess.. I dunno. I just thought that I hadn't seen you before and sometimes I like to surprise people," he answered finally, offering a small smile. He knew he was lying - he was pretty sure everything else in the room knew he was lying but hopefully the girls didn't.
Brooklyn let out a dry laugh at the mention of different ways to go to school. She looked away from him, playing with the edge of her shirt as he rambled on. "It's not that... easy," she admitted quietly, chewing on her bottom lip. There wasn't much that she could actually admit to.

"I mean someone has to take care of the house and make sure everything is in order. Brett is going to school so that has to be me. Besides, he pays for the house and everything so it wouldn't be fair to ask him to do any more than he already is," Brooklyn rambled the thoughts that she usually kept to herself. They were words she couldn't dare say to Brett himself and she certainly couldn't say them to Olivia because she knew how her sister would react. Her stomach flipped when she realized how far off the trail she had gotten.

"Just..." Brooklyn cleared her throat and straightened a bit as she looked back toward Jeffreyy, forcing a smile to her lips. "Tell me about your craziest fan story," she said, hoping to change the subject.

“Yeah, I guess I do have to.” She smiled in response to him. She watched as he grew silent, wondering if she had already said something wrong. She clamped down on the inside of her cheek once more, hoping that she hadn’t made a bad impression already. She sighed, feeling relieved whenever he finally spoke up once more.

Olivia nodded, slightly disappointed that didn’t seem like it was out of the norm for him to do things like he did. But why did she feel that way? It had been a long time since Olivia had been in a relationship, and at the moment, she wasn’t very good at picking up on signals—or deciphering if something was even a signal to begin with. “Well, it was very, very kind of you to do. I know my sister really appreciates it, and so do I.”
Jeffrey couldn’t help but roll his eyes whenever she looked down towards her hands and began to ramble off the list of various reasons why she wouldn’t be able to do the things she wanted to do. “Darlin’, where there’s a will there’s a way. If you want to go to school, you should make it happen. It’s not fair for you to put your life on the back burner just for someone else, ya know?”

Jeffrey looked at her for a long time, disregarding the fact that she had asked him a question. He blinked a couple of times, bringing he hand up to rub at one of his eyes. He sighed a small laugh, “I mean, I have had some pretty weird shit happen. It really depends on how you define crazy though.”

Jensen offered a small sigh when Olivia thanked him, waving off the words. He didn't think it was that big of a deal. It was getting increasingly more rare for any of the guys to invite people back because most of them were in relationships and it would have just caused too much drama should the wrong things happen. Should the fan be a little too clingy, for example.

Using the arm of the couch, Jensen pushed himself off of the couch and motioned for Olivia to follow him. "Come on, let's all get up against the wall and get the pictures taken in case we need to take several," he murmured. Jensen turned around, smirking when Olivia drew close enough that he could reach out and wrap his hands around her hips, pulling her flush against his chest with a goofy sort of grin. "Come, gotta get closer, sweetheart."
The pet name made Brooklyn's stomach flip in a way that she wasn't sure it should have. She knew that being this close to Jeffrey would make her nervous but he was just being so nice and he was trying to be supportive, more than the current man in her life, and it made her heart ache. Because she wanted Brett to be the man she had first thought he was and partly because what if. Swallowing the lump in her throat, Brooklyn offered a nervous smile when Jeffrey continued on. Good. Change the subject.

"Whatever sticks out the most, I guess," Brooklyn answered after a moment. She tilted her head to the side as she watched Jeffrey. When she made eye contact with him, she looked back down. Glancing to the side, Brooklyn noddded when she noticed Jensen and Olivia standing. "You, uh, think we should join them?"

Olivia’s cheeks set ablaze when Jensen’s hand grasped onto her. She looked up at him timidly, a small smile on her lips. Pretty damn close if you ask me, she thought to herself. Olivia inhaled deeply, deciding that she would try and brave up a little, reaching up with on of her hands to lay on Jensen’s chest. She grasped the fabric of his shirt slightly and grinned at him, “Is this close enough? Think we will all fit in?”

After they had taken a few pictures, Olivia patted Jensen’s chest. She mumbled a small thank you before saying that she really wanted to get a few pictures on her camera for her sister. She went over to her camera bag and pulled out her camera. “Alright, if everyone could shift just slightly to the left that would be so fantastic.”
Jeffrey nodded and smiled at her questions as they both noticed there were a few of them beginning to line up at the back wall. He extended his hand to her in a friendly manner, grasping her delicate hand inside of his. He motioned his head, “Come on, let’s go get a few pictures taken.” Jeffery took her over to where everyone else was, situation her next to her sister and Jared standing on the other side of him. Jeffrey looked over at Jensen, shooting him a smirk with a raised eyebrow. He snaked his arm around Brooklyn’s waist, he fingertips holding firmly onto her side.

“More pictures?” Jeffery laughed as he watched Olivia sneak away to her bag. He leaned down close to Brooklyn’s ear, the tone of his voice portraying his smile. “Oh, look how lucky you are just to get a picture by yourself. After this what about just one of me and you, yeah?”

"Mm," Jensen murmured, letting out a low chuckle as he pulled her closer to him. "I think that's getting better," he answered, his arms slipping completely around her waist so that he could pull her close enough that he was more or less crushing her to his chest. "But I think this is right where you need to be, sweetheart."

Jensen had to contain the whine that wanted to leave his throat when Olivia pulled away to grab her camera. He huffed but little else came out, didn't think there was anything else that really needed to be said. Olivia was a photographer, a beautiful photographer but he had a lot on his plate. And it was unlikely she would be able to handle what being involved with him would mean. When Olivia motioned for them to get closer, Jensen wrapped an arm around Jeffrey's shoulders and grinned for the first picture.
Brooklyn shivered against Jeffrey's chest as he whispered in her ear. It sent goosebumps running along her skin, racing to cover every inch of her. She bit down on her lip to suppress a giggle as she nodded slowly. Only to hesitate at his suggestion. But there was no way that Brett would ever see the pictures so she didn't need to worry right? If he never saw them, he couldn't get jealous.

Exhaling slowly, Brooklyn forced herself to relax as Olivia began to take pictures. She cleared her throat when Olivia paused, looking up to him for a moment. "Thank you for this," she murmured quietly, setting her hands over his.

To say that Olivia was disappointed to leave the man’s arms was an understatement. The feeling of being pressed up against him so closely played over and over and over in her mind as she took more photos of the group in front of her. The only thing that snapped her out of her thoughts was the smile on her sister’s face. She couldn’t remember the last time she had seen her sister smiling like she was. Olivia bit her lip, trying to contain the grin that was growing on her face.

She stood up and began to pack her camera away, “Alright. I think I got all the shots I needed.” She smiled as she slung the camera bag over her shoulder. “Anyway, I am sure you all have other things you need to get to.” She nodded her head slightly at Jensen, her voice quiet. Her eyes were trained on his as she spoke, “Thank you so much for this. It was uh, really, really nice to meet you.”
Jeffrey shook his head at Brooklyn. She had no reason to be thanking him. He wanted to do it, especially after he saw the way it made her smile. After the group photos were over, he pulled Brooklyn even closer to him, resting his head on top of hers. He grinned at Olivia’s camera, hoping that the pictures came out exactly how she wanted them.

After they had finished with photos, Jeffrey produced a card from his wallet. He extended it to Brooklyn, “Make sure your sister gets me a couple of copies of those pictures. You can just email them if you want. I would really love to have them.”

Jensen wanted to ask for Olivia's number, he did, but there was something about the way she was acting that had him deciding against it. She almost seemed to be rushing out of the room and he wasn't about to stop her, that seemed unfair to put her into such a position. He wasn't very into making girls uncomfortable, it just wasn't his sort of thing and it never had been.

Offering a brilliant smile, Jensen nodded as he reached out to give her a side hug. "You're welcome, sweetheart. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Enjoy the rest of the convention, okay?"
Brooklyn's eyes widened as Jeffrey handed her a card from his wallet. She opened and closed her mouth several times as she looked down to the little card in her hand before finally slipping it into her pocket. "Yeah... I, of course, Jeffrey," she answered when she could finally speak again.

Clearing her throat, Brooklyn tilted her head to the side as she neared her sister again. "Thanks for everything, Jeff. I really do appreciate it," she called before turning and leaving the room with Olivia.

Olivia looked a Jensen for a long while, stuck about what to do. Part of her wanted to slip him her number, but she didn’t really know if that would be over stepping any boundaries She took a couple steps towards him and reached up to wrap her arms around his neck. She gave him a hug, turning her head to press a kiss to his cheek. “Thank you again, really. I appreciate it.”

Olivia stepped away from him, looking down. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear as she waited for Brooklyn to finish up saying by to the rest of the cast and then left the room with her.
Jeffrey was in a slight daze as the girl exited the room. Part of him wanted to follow after her and ask her to dinner or something of the like. His business cell was on that card, so in the back of his mind he silently prayed maybe she would end up calling.

Jeffrey walked back over to the couch and flopped back down onto it. He checked his watch and realized they still had about fifteen minutes until they were headed out. He looked over at Jensen, “Hey Ackles, did you get that girls number? Or give her yours?”

Brooklyn shoved her hands into her pockets, chewing on her bottom lip as they left the room. She looked around, her shoulders sagging a bit. As enjoyable as the experience had been, she was suddenly feeling rather deflated because she knew that the day was coming to a close. She couldn't stay with Olivia forever. That would just be ridiculous.

Clearing her throat, Brooklyn thumbed against the card in her pocket. "Of all the ways I thought today was going to go, it certainly wasn't that!" She exclaimed finally, willing a shy smile to her lips.
Jensen let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair as he looked over Jeffrey. A smirk settled onto his features as he shook his head slowly. "No, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. I mean... if it comes down to it, I'm sure we can contact Creations, right? I mean, she was a photographer so..." he trailed off with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Give it a few days so I don't seem so desperate," Jensen commented with a small laugh. He crossed his arms, settling onto the arm of the couch. "That wouldn't do anyone any good."

Olivia sat at her desk, her laptop pulled up. She was filtering through some of the photos that she had taken, discarding some of the bad ones. She kept stopping at some of the ones with Jensen in them—which was a lot of them—a small smile tugging at her mouth. She wished she had been more brave, would have slipped the actor her telephone number or asked him out for a drink afterwards… But in Olivia’s style, she was far too shy to do either. She had mentally cursed herself several times about not manning up and doing it, but the opportunity was lost now.

It had been the better part of a month since the convention where Jensen had met Olivia. Most of the time, he was good about not thinking about the way her eyes lit up or the way her dimples just made him melt in a way that he hadn't experienced in too God damned long. He let out a sigh, shifting around in his seat. He was holed up in a hotel room, waiting to go out for some... he was pretty sure it was a photo shoot but his mind was too far elsewhere to really care what the day's later plans were.

Brushing his finger over the screen of his phone, Jensen looked away, only to jump when he heard the telltale sounds of the phone ringing. He had contacted Creations to get Olivia's number with the intention of calling her one day but hell, he hadn't meant for that to be today.

Before he could consider, the phone was ringing and he opted to press it to his ear after realizing it had to have already registered on her phone. How pathetic would it look if he hung up now? Sighing to himself, Jensen leaned his head back against the chair he was sitting on, waiting to see whether there would be an answer or not. He wouldn't really blame her if she didn't pick up an unknown number.
Brooklyn thought she had been doing pretty good over the past few weeks. She had slipped Jeffrey's business card to her sister without having managed to let it slip to Brett which she thought was a feat all on its own. She had never been a good liar, something that Brett was rather good at picking up on but she had managed to keep most of what happened at the convention under wraps.

Sighing, she made her way into the kitchen to begin the daily ritual that she went through every day an hour or so before Brett got home. Start whatever meal Brett had asked for at lunch time, finish up whatever last minute chores that needed to be. Just like clock work most days unless he decided to order food in which was a rare luxury but those days were the best because she got to relax more than usual.

Olivia continued to flip through the pictures, setting a couple aside to email to her sister. Olivia hadn’t heard from the younger girl in several days. Olivia hated whenever Brooklyn did that. She knew suspected that it had a lot to do with the man in her sisters life. Olivia had never liked Brett. To be quite honest she had only met the man a handful of times. It seemed, a very odd coincidence at that, that the only time she got to see her sister was if Brett was away or working late. She felt like the man kept her sister from her, and it really wasn’t flying with her.

After Olivia had sent off the pictures to Brooklyn, she began sending the photos off to the manager of her team. She had finally sifted through the hundreds of photos from that event and was finally putting the folder together. Soon enough she would have her first official check.

The sound of her phone ringing beside her made her jump. She reached out and grabbed the phone. Her eyebrows furrowed at her iPhone telling her the call was coming from Texas. She held the phone up to her ear, “Hello?”
To say that Brett was a traditionalist was a severe understatement. He had very high expectations when it came to his significant other. Brett was the type of guy who felt as though if he was doing all the money making, house work wasn’t his responsibility. And to be brutality honest, even if he wasn’t bringing home the bread, house work still needed to be left to the woman. Because that’s just the way it was.

Brett walked in the door, letting out a very audible grunt as he dropped his things in a pile just inside the door. He raised his eyebrow as he looked down at it. Brooklyn would pick it up later like normal. As he trudged through the house he kicked his shoes off, having them land by his chair. He made his way into the kitchen, rolling his eyes as he watched her scurrying around the kitchen like she was actually working. He dug through the refrigerator in search for a cold one. He popped the top on the beer, kicking the fridge door shut with his foot. “Dinner ain’t done yet?”

Jensen had sat up a bit straighter as the phone continued to ring, anticipating the answering machine. He kept rehearsing it time and time again but nothing he came up with seemed to sit well with him. Hey, uh, it's Jensen. Jensen Ac-. No that just sounded stupid. Like he was a preteen boy who was making a phone call to a girl he thought was the hottest girl walking this Earth. Scoffing at the idea, Jensen was so focused on what he would say that he barely caught the tale end of Olivia's greeting. Oh. So she did answer.

"Hey, uh," Jensen paused to clear his throat, his feet resting on the ground. He leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees.

"It's Jensen. How are you?" Jensen spoke hesitantly, his eyes roaming over the hotel room. His body straightened as he tilted his head to the side.
The sound of the front door opening and closing sent Brooklyn's heart racing. She stilled in her movements, listening intently to the sounds that she was so used to. Brett's things were dropped by the door and she knew it was coming, but the sounds of his shoes hitting the floor made her flinch away from the doorway. Turning, Brooklyn exhaled slowly as she tried to focus on the last piece she had to fix for dinner. Garlic bread was so easy to make that she always left it to the last when Brett decided he wanted something Italian inspired.

She lathered the bread in the garlic wash before setting it on a pan to slip into the oven. Brooklyn always made a bit extra in hopes that he wouldn't mind if she ate - if not, he could always take it for lunch the next day and she wouldn't have to get up too early.

"The garlic bread's just in the oven," Brooklyn answered quietly. She turned so she could face him her gaze directed downward as she shifted her weight to the other foot. "It won't be more than a few minutes. Why don't you go sit down and I'll bring out everything to you in a few minutes?"

Olivia suddenly felt nausea building up in a weirdly exciting way. Jensen had her number? How on earth did he get it? She knew she definitely didn’t give it to the man, but the smile on her face assured her she didn’t care he had it. “Hey, Jensen.” She said warmly. She leaned back in her desk chair, pushing herself away from her table. She didn’t really know what to say at that point. What was he calling for? Would it be rude to bluntly ask? She shook her head, letting out an inaudible sigh. “How’s it, uh, going and stuff? What have you been up to?”
Brett rolled his eyes. How did she not have everything ready? It’s not like she did anything all day. She didn’t work, didn’t go to school, didn’t do anything but sit at the house. The least she could do is have dinner ready on time. She knew when he got off work. She knew when he would be home. That’s what time dinner should have been ready. “I’ll be in the living room when you decided to quit dicking around and have food ready.”

With that, he exited the kitchen and made his way to the living room. He plopped down in his chair, his clothes still filthy and probably rubbing the grime into the fabric.

Jensen couldn't help but let out a low chuckle as Olivia spoke up. He was relieved that she had answered and didn't seem so busy that she couldn't at least talk for a minute or two. He'd be expecting her to be busy - she was an upstarting photographer so it wouldn't be super hard to imagine such a thing happening. Crossing his arms, he shouldered the phone to his ear.

"Good. I'm just in Washington State right now, something about a photo shoot, I think. How's everything going with photography for you?" He asked, his brows raising as he listened to her response.
Brooklyn's breath froze in her throat when Brett spoke up. She swallowed the lump that formed in her throat and she looked away from what she was doing as he spoke. She opened her mouth to defend herself, to argue that she did it so the garlic bread would be nice and warm for when she served the food. Instead, she simply shut her mouth and nodded. Reaching for a plate, Brooklyn plated up Brett's food, pulling the garlic bread out of the oven once she was finished with everything else. She paused to grab another beer, figuring he would want another as she headed into the living room.

Handing the plate to him, Brooklyn set the bottle on the table before sinking to the floor beside his chair. "How was work?" She asked quietly, chewing on the inside of her lip. "Did you want me to start a bath for you or anything?"
