I'll Be There

She walked through the halls toward the studio where Exo would be performing for the music show, her friend behind her. "Are you sure it won't be awkward? With Baekhyun there, I mean? We're bound to see him, we'll be upfront." She said, heading inside and taking her seat.

"It might be weird," Katie spoke gently as she looked at her, "but he asked me to come - he said they've worked really hard on this come back, and Minseok asked me to come to." it had been six months since she and Baekhyun had ended things amicably. Of course you missed him, for a period of time he was your best friend, but things between you got tense when it was obvious both of you weren't wholy in the relationship.

She nodded a little and shrugged, setting her bag down onto the seat. "At least it ended well," She said quietly, she didn't want anyone to overhear. "But...Baek doesn't know you like Minseok does he?"

Katie groaned, "No.. no he does not, and nothing will ever come of that so there is no point in him ever knowing," she murmured. It had been hard dating Baekhyun, the fans were relentless but over all they liked her well enough, when they broke up a lot of fans told her how sorry they were; and she would like their post so they knew she was thankful for their thoughts. It was only a short two months later when she'd begun developing feelings for Minseok. It happened one day when they were spending the day out together with Baekhyun and Sehun - it was sudden, the way he teasingly smiled at her about how she looked too pretty today - people would think she was dating Baekhyun again. It seemed flirty and after that the feelings took on a life of their own.

"It's dangerous. Some fans may take badly to that." She said to her and sighing as she looked around the room at the fans. Most of them were kind but more often than not they were rude, harsh, and narrowminded. It didn't occur to them that their idols could have lives of their own.

"It is, but he doesn't like me anyway - so it doesn't even matter, it was fluke meeting Baek the way I did - he's a good guy and deserves someone who can make him happy. I don't have any idea why he keeps me around, do you think he meant it? Wanting to be friends?" Katie asked softly, the last words being; 'lets remain friends please,' almost as if he were begging her. Katie hadn't believed it but he still called to hang out with her when he had time, and messaged her when he was on tour.

She nodded. "I don't know them as well as you do, but I'm sure he did. He's quite nice, why wouldn't he have meant it?" She said as the lights dimmed, and the crowd quieted as exo walked onto the stage.

Minseok walked over with the others, bowing to the staff and fans, before getting into position with the others. He could see Katie from the audience, and smiled a little to her.

"Most guys don't mean it, they say lets be friends but then never call or try to be friendly," she murmured as she shrugged a little then smiled when she saw Minseok and waved. "I'm not used to guys keeping their word is all, I'm sure you know what I mean,"

Jongdae walked onto the stage and waved to the crowd then smiled when he saw Katie and her friend; waving to them both.

She nodded. "I know what you mean, but I doubt he's one of those guys. He just doesn't seem like it to me," She said, waving slightly, before sighing. "Just play it by ear, see how it goes."

The music started and they did their performance before bowing and heading off the stage. They were only there to do it a few times before they had to be interviewed. He wondered if Katie was free afterwards. He hadn't seen if Baekhyun had noticed her there.

Katie smiled a little,"They did so well, I'm very proud of them," she said as she pulled out her phone and texted Baekhyun telling him how great they were then proceeded to text the same to Minseok, Suho and Sehun - who she was also close with. "I can't believe how well they did, this come back is so impressive,"

Jongdae sighed, he was so tired - he had kept his eyes on Katie and her friend throughout the duration of the show.

She smiled a little and stretched, standing up. "I expect you'll meet up with them later?" She asked, looking around.

He looked at his phone and smiled, asking where she was and if she wanted to hang out afterward. She came over sometimes, but she didn't as often as she used to.

Beatrice nodded,"Probably, Minseok just texted me back asking if I was going to hang out - wanna come?" she asked as she looked at her, "They always buy too much food after a show, and its a cycle between them taking turns showering and eating," she laughed.

"Is Katie coming over?" Jongdae asked Baekhyun as he wiped the sweat off his face. "We haven't seen her in almost two weeks, you must be dying to see her,"

Baekhyun shrugged. "Sure, it would be nice to see her. "I'll invite her over."

"No need," Minseok smiled, holding up his phone. "She said we did well."

She shrugged. "Would it be okay? I don't want to just show up."

"Of course it would be fine, they trust me not to bring crazy people so - keep your crazy locked up," she joked as she shovedh er playfully.

"Oh? You did, good we'll order double the food since she eats all the rice," Jongdae laughed in a joking manner referring to the time she almost vomited after eating too much rice.

"Is that even possible?" She asked, lauhging a bit. "But okay, sounds like fun."

Minseok nodded, standing as they went to go get into the van. "I'll have her meet us there."

She smiled a little as she looked at her then looked at her phone, "Alright, Minseok said to head to the dorm," she said to her as she pulled her backpack on, "ready?" Katie asked her with a smile.

He nodded, "Cool," he said as baekhyun walked away, "So, whats up with him? He seemed upset,"

Minseok shrugged, but he had an idea. He figured he didn't like him talking to Katie, but he figured Baekhyun would be fine. "Not sure. Maybe he's tired."

She nodded. "After you," She teased. "Off to see your new man."

He nodded a little, "yeah maybe, " he said to him as he climbed into the van and buckled up.

She rolled her eyes a little, "He isn't my man," she murmured softly as she looked at her then walked over to the taxi she'd called.

"Who knows what will happen?" She said, shrugging a little as she climbed in behind her. "Never know."

He sat back and sighed, closing his eyes and sighing.
