Alice smiled as she finished her food finally feeling full. "Mmm." she stretched out in her chair a little and looked at the deserts. "You want to slit one? Might be the last good meal we get for a while." she said and handed the menu over to him. She didn't think she could eat a whole one and after everything she already ate she knew she shouldn't try to. Alice was kind of antsy to get back out on the road though. "We need to stop by a store soon too." she said knowing there was a lot they needed to pick up.

Ryder smiled and nodded, "Yea i will split one with you." He said. He began to eat with her then when they finished he walked out with her. He got in the car and started to drive, "So what do we need from the store?" He asked as he began to drive down the road. He knew they needed to pick a store that didn't have camera in it. He bit his bottom lip lightly as he thought about where to go.

"A map to start with. Food, water, weapons if we can get them easily, rope a few cleaners and some other things. It's going to get a bit pricey but if we need to we can stop at a street game and I can win us some." Alice said and smiled at him. "Eventually we're going to need some really expensive things like passports, ID's and papers." she said and smiled. "But we'll negotiate that online. Oh that reminds me we need disposable phones and a laptop." Alice looked over at him blushing softly feeling bad for blowing so much of money that was not hers but it was going to keep them alive.

Ryder was amazed at this list she had, "Alright sounds good. You keep that locked in and i will find a place." He said, chuckling. Ryder found them a store and walked inside, helping her get everything they need. Once they got back in the car he looked at her, "As for weapons..I know a guy that can help us out." He said. He used his now new disposable phone to tell his friend to meet them at the location they usually met out. He used codes like before so that nobody could find them.

Once they bought all the things she needed they were back out on the road. "I'm glad that you know someone." she said and blushed. "But that hunting knife really would have been fine." she said and smiled. He seemed to want the best for er though. He was starting to confuse her. Something about his quietness and simple care made her wonder what he was hiding.

Ryder smiled, "I know, but i think we need some extra stuff." He said as he drove. Once they got to a certain place he parked the car in an alley, "Come on. Stay close." He said, walking with her. Once they met up with Frankie he smiled. "Hey man thanks." He said as he took the duffel bag from him. "Come on Alice." He said as he helped her back to the jeep.

Alice nodded and smiled. They parked and she got out following him carefully. Frankie smirked. "No problem Ryder but who's the chick? And how much for me to join?" he asked and grabbed Alice's wrist. Alice spun as he pulled her into his chest. Alice frowned feeling something happening to her body. "Stop please I don't want to hurt you." she said and Frankie went to grab her more and then she shuttered and he dropped to his knees. Alice frowned seeing a smoke start to come off of him and she pulled back and frowned. "I'm sorry." she said and walked quickly to the truck and got in the drivers seat. She needed to distract herself after that. She still had so little idea what her body could do. "Keys please." she said as he got in and she looked a little sad though Frankie seemed to be fine as he stood on shaky legs.

Ryder frowned as what happened. He gave her the keys and got into the car, "Um..are you okay?" He asked, looking over at her. She seemed pretty freaked out about what she just did. "I didn't know you could do that." He said, shaking his head. He didn't like that she seem surprised as well. What if she ended up hurting someone really badly.

Alice started the truck. "I didn't know I could either." she said her voice slightly shaken as she quickly pulled out. Alice started to drive and she drove until it was defiantly time to get a hotel. When she pulled up to one that was suitable she parked and got out looking at him. "Maybe you should go in and get a room." she said and bit her lip. Alice had been quiet pretty much all day and they had drove through an entire state.

Ryder nodded, "Sure just stay here okay." He said. He walked to get them a room, then returned and went to their room with her. He sighed as he set his things down. He looked over at her, "Are you okay?" He asked. She hadn't been this quiet the whole ride and it worried him.

Alice walked into he room and sat on the bed looking down at the floor. "I... how can I convince people and... you not to be afraid of me when I am afraid of myself? I... I don't know what happened there other than I was afraid of him and suddenly he was smoking. I... I can logically assume it was a part of my hormonal system that ramped up and made his body react that way but I didn't control it and yet it happened." she said and bit her lip. "So what do you say to that?" she asked.

Ryder looked at her, "I say that no matter what i promised to help you. So i'm going to help you. Whether you or I know what is going on. All i know is that i'm going to keep you alive and i don't care about anything else." He said as he sat next to her. 'You are going to be fine. I'm sure there are a lot of things that you are going to learn in the next couple months or even years." He said as he took her hand.

Alice smiled softly and took his hand in hers as his touched hers. She sighed and nodded. "Thank you." she said and relaxed for the first time all day. Alice looked up at him and then yawned. "I should sleep, you too. It has been a really long day. "Tomorrow we can go over a plan and everything we need to do." she said and smiled.

Ryder nodded, "Alright. Im going to shower." He said. He grabbed his clothes then walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower. He got dressed for bed, wearing a pair of basketball shorts. He didnt like pants because they made him top hot at night. He climbed into his bed amd turned his lamp off. "Goodnight Alice." He said closing his eyes.

Alice nodded and smiled changing for bed and crawling in. When he came back out she took a deep breath. He smelled nice. "Night Ryder." she said and smiled. He had gotten two beds and she would need to remind him about a few things that in the future would set the out and make them easy targets but they were already easy targets now that it hardly mattered.

Ryder closed his eyes and fell asleep. He woke the next morning and got dressed. He got some food brought to the room, not letting the person in. He walked in with the food and set it on a small table. "Hungry?" He asked as he heard her sit up behind him. Ryder rubbed the back of his neck. He could feel her looking at him as he buttered his toast.

Alice slept though till morning and sat up whens he smelled food. She looked around hearing his question and she looked at him and smiled. "Yeah." she said her eyes moving over him. She got up and walked over to the table and sat starting to eat. "Mmm thanks." she said.

Ryder nodded, "You are welcome." He said as he began to eat. He frowned as he looked at her, he wished he could tell her the reason he really took her. It would be too much for her though. The fear of getting caught and experiencing what happened to him would ruin her. He looked behind him, "We need to go." He said, putting their food in a container he had sent up. "They are here." He said. He had heard them. The only thing he had right now was heightened senses. "Come on." He demanded. He grabbed their things then made his way to the vehicle with her. Once they made it to the car he began to drive. He was glad they didn't run into them. He looked at her, "Go ahead and eat i will keep driving." He explained.

Alice smiled at him then started to eat not paying much attention to him until he spoke again. "Need to go why?" she asked and her eyes widened as he said they were here. "How do you know?" she asked grabbing their things and pulling out one of her new weapons and got to the car with him. How had they gotten out of there just in time? she looked back seeing those people with large guns swarm the place they had just been. She frowned and looked at him. "Ryder..." she crossed her arms. "You need to explain." she said and frowned as he looked like he didn't want to say a thing. "I deserve to know the truth." she said.

Ryder sighed as he drove til they were far enough away to not get caught. He parked under an underpass and looked at her. "I'm going to be honest with you okay? I am like you....was like you." He said, shaking his head. "They did those things to me and they stopped my brain from doing what yours does. I can hear really well and kind of read minds, but that it something i have to focus with." He said, watching her. He sighed when she asked how they stopped his brain from evolving. "They did a lobotomy on me." He said. He leaned back against his seat, "I knew they were going to do that on you next and i wasn't going to let them do that to you." He said, looking over at her.
