Just Once

JB stared at her, before turning to his manager. "Did you mispronounce something?" He asked curiously. "You just said you're pregnant," He said, shaking his head. "Which is impossible. You said you were on birth control." He said, looking at her seriously.

"I was, it didn't work I guess," she said to him softly and she could already feel herself paling as she began to feel sick then let out a small breath, "excuse me," she said to him as she stood up and walked into the bathroom throwing up the soup she'd eaten a little bit ago then brushing her teeth again before walking back out. "I'm probably about seven or eight weeks, you're the only person I've been with in the last six months, I've taken five tests and they've all come up positive," she said to him - her Korean was pretty fluent but sometimes she would use the wrong word. "I hope I said that right," she said in english.

He looked at her in shock before turning to his manager who looked unbelievably stressed. "How do you know it's mine?" He asked her. "You could be trying to bait me, and I didn't take you for that kind of person," He said angrily. "I have a career, I wouldn't have done it if you said your birth control wasn't effective."

Avalon saw him get angry and shook her head. "This is ridiculous, calm down." She said, glaring at him. She had no idea what was being said but it pissed her off to know that he was getting mad for something that wasn't her fault.

"No birth control is 100% effective," she told him seriously as she looked at him then closed her eyes, "I don't need your money, I don't even need you!" she said to him then wiped at her eyes - she wasn't sad- she was upset that it was all her fault apparently. "I'm giving you an out," she told him gently as she looked at him and the manager, "I was doing the right thing as a person, this baby is yours; but you don't have to do a damn thing with it or claim it. I have money, probably more than you," she said to him seriously, "but I will do this alone if you want nothing to do with it,"

Her hands were shaking and she saw the managers eyes soften as he looked at her then looked to JB whispering in his ear probably asking her to clarify more on what she'd said.

He sighed angrily, turning to explain to the manager and turning to her. "I want the out." He said. "I have a career and I expected the birth control to work, I wouldn't have done it if I had known." He said seriously. "I can't have a child right now, and I'm sorry but I just can't do it."

Avalon looked at Kate and asked her to explain what was happening. She asked if she would translate for him and crossed her arms. "Do not blame her for something she could not control. Do you think she wants to be having a baby right now?" She asked him. "This is her child as much as it is yours, and she doesn't get an 'out' she has to stay and raise it because it is what is right to do." She glared at him. She turned to Kate and scoffed. "And tell him he's an asshole too."

Kate translated what she said as she looked at her hands fought back the tears but they spilled over anyway then looked at him, "I'm sorry this happened it wasn't what I wanted either," she whispered then wiped her eyes, "you should invest in condoms," she told him as she wiped at her eyes then sucked a deep breath before burying her face in her hands. This couldn't be too hard right? She had money, more than enough to support herself. "you want the out - you got it; when he or she is born a lawyer will contact you letting you know and they'll have you sign over all your parental rights," she said as she stood up and wiped her eyes.

The manager looked at him disappointed then shook his head a little then looked at the girl before sighing then standing up and bowing slightly - she did the same. "Goodbye," she said to him.

JB glared at the other girl. "Who is she? Why is she here anyway?" He asked, before shaking his head. "Fine. I'll sign them over," He said, standing up. "Let's go." He said, turning to head for the door. "I don't expect to hear from you, so goodbye." He said, walking out the door and glaring at the other woman.

Avalon was so angry she couldn't stand it. She wasn't angry at the manager and she thanked him for coming but she glared at JB. "Babies happen, if you want someone to blame, blame yourself. Use a condom next time," She said, opening the door so he could leave. She flicked him off and waved, shutting the door behind them. "What an asshole, oh my god." She said, locking it and going to sit on the bed. "I'm ordering food, since you cant drink," She said, picking up the phone and dialing room service.

When the door shut she leaned against it then felt her body begin to tremble as she broke down into a fit of sobs sucking in breaths it felt like she was dying on the inside, her throat ached and she curled her head into her knees as she cried. She had Ava and for that she was thankful - but she really wanted her mom right then - it was like the only thing that could heal the pain she had would be the touch of a mothers calm.

She sighed, hanging up the phone on the man and going over to sit on the floor. She wrapped her arms around her friend and sighed, rubbing her back. "Everything is going to be okay. I promise. Everything will work out, it always does," She said softly. She was so angry at JB she couldn't believe what kind of man would willingly and without a care just sign over parental rights. It was people like that who were less than people, and Avalon hated those kinds of people. "I'm going to get you your favorite food, because you need to eat. You're eating for two now, and you need to keep your strength. It's better without him anyway, you knew that before he even showed up." She said softly.

Kate leaned into her and cried softly as she clutched her shirt, "I miss my mom," she sobbed as she held onto her, "she'd know what to do - I don't know anything about babies, I've never even held one before how am I going to be a good mom when I've never even been alone with a baby?"

"I have been alone with babies and I am not letting you do this alone," She said softly. "I babysat all those years, I'm practically professional and I'm going to help you." She said, rubbing her back and sighing. "Alright? I'm going to make sure you know what you're doing, and even then I'll still be there for you." She said to her. "Okay?"

She sucked in air then nodded a little as she wiped her eyes then looked at her hands, "Okay," she whispered then leaned her head on her shoulder before taking deep breaths so she didn't make herself sick again. She hadn't really be able to keep much down except some soup, but she was really hungry - when she made an appointment she would make sure to ask for stomach meds.

She nodded a little and stood,helping her stand and sitting her onto her bed. "Now, I'm going to order food," She said to her. "Nothing crazy, some soup and maybe somethign a bit heavier for you," She said softly, picking up the menu and calling the man back. "Just relax, lay down if you can."

It seemed strange, but her morning sickness was pretty much gone now. She did get the occasionally stomach acid burps or moments when she felt as if she was going to throw up but she hadn't in a could days now which led her to believe that the worst was over. Once the doctor confirmed what she already knew she began to do research, and with that came a lot of concerns. She spoke with several midwives, and several doctors who were the most recommended in their fields but finally settled on a female doctor by the name of Dr. Fresno - one of the leading OB/GYN's in keeping things as natural as possible. She'd even heard that some celebrities had used her before so, she figured this was the best doctor she could go to.

"I'm trying to cook, Ava ," she said to her as she looked at the cook book, "The doctor said I can't eat taco bell anymore, what will I do without taco bell - where will I have my not really tacos now?! I mean I can't even have greasy burgers anymore cause it might cause something to the baby - I'm starving, I've been eating so much salad I need meat! I want STEAK," she demanded stomping her foot.

Avalon walked into the kitchen, looking at her and going to the refridgerator. "I mean, I cook, you could have just asked," She laughed a little, sitting down at the table in the kitchen. She heard a knock at the door and stood, going to answer it and opening the door. "Just add salt, that's the best way," She laughed a little, looking in slight confusion.

"Hi, is Kate here?" Jackson asked curiously. "My name is Jackson, we came to introduce ourselves," He smiled a little, gesturing to the five other boys who stood behind him.

"Uh, Kate?" She said, moving aside so they could come in. "You have visitors?"

"What do you mean visitors I don't have friends.. well except you but you're an anomaly," she snorted as she walked over and stopped then stood there blinking rapidly. "Uhm, what are you guys doing here?" she asked lightly as she chewed on her bottom lip lightly. They were the last people she had expected to see there, when she didn't see JB she wasn't as tense, "Come on in, sorry I .. I didn't mean to be rude. Ava this is... JB's members from the group he's in," she said to her lightly as she looked at her then chewed on her bottom lip lightly.

Yugyeom looked at her, "we heard what he did and we want you to know we're all very upset with him," he said lightly as he looked at her then gave a small smile.

Avalon crossed her arms and turned. "I see," She said, heading into the kitchen. "You go ahead and talk, I'll salvage whatever mess you made in the kitchen," She said, going in and looking at the recipe she had been looking at.

Jackson nodded a little. "We're all really mad at him. We can't believe he did that to you, and our manager told him how he treated you. He also told us that the girl in the kitchen yelled at him," He said, making Jinyoung snicker a bit.

Jinyoung sighed. "We cant to help. If we won't we will. It's the right thing to do," They said to her. "We're on vacation for a bit, our manager ordered it since, well this. So we'll be here for a while."

"Oh, wow," she murmured softly as she looked at them then rubbed the back of her neck, "I appreciate it, really," she murmured lightly then gave a small smile.

"How far are you?" Bambam asked as he looked at her, "you're still small,"

She smiled, "Not very far along right now, just over ten weeks probably won't start showing till I'm over fifteen weeks," she said as she invited them to sit on her couch then sighed, "I'm surprised you found me to be honest, my apartment is pretty well guarded,"

Jackson laughed. "It wasn't that hard," He said, shaking his head. "All we did was use our manager to help track you down, and Yugyeom has your friend's number so we used her too," He said.

"It was important, we needed to come here and apologize. We can't believe he did what he did, and we don't stand by him." Jinyoung said. "At all. We're all really angry."

"I'm..not angry but I am disappointed," she said to them lightly as she rubbed her neck a little as she sat on the couch then sighed a bit, "I just, I didn't expect much to be honest," she said honestly, "I do get why you're angry, this isn't what I wanted either but I'm going to handle it as it should be handled. I've cleaned out my office and moved what I could to my room; we're turning that room into the nursery," she smiled a little. "If he doesn't want to be involved there isn't much I can do about it, many people have grown up without father's; he or she will be loved, thats all that matters,"

Yugyeom nodded as he listened, "Well, we've all spoken about it - we're all willing to be that figure for the baby if you'd let us,"
