When We Were Young

Ryan finished his food and listened to her brother talk. He was a cute kid and he understood why Claire wanted to help him. Casey looked at Claire, "Can i go watch tv now?" He asked. Ryan looked at Claire, then got up and took his plate to the sink. He washed it off for her then dried it.

Santana laughed softly, "It will be worth it." She said. She looked at her phone when it went off. She seen a text from Julie asking about going to a party later. She looked back at Jake and smiled.

Clire smiled finishing up her food and laughed nodding since he had finished most of his food. "Yeah, go watch some television." She told him kissing his head. She grabbed his plate with her own and threw the food on the plates away before washing them thanking Ryan for washing his own. She then started to put the leftovers into a bag for tomorrow for her lunch and Casey's. She finished cleaning and went back to the table pulling her shorts down over her cuts to keep them from sight.

Jake laughed and said, "I'm sure it will be." He heard her phone go off but didn't say anything. "Hmm Julie?" He asked laughing. He winced again at his ribs and sighed at his friend and said, "This tattoo better be wicked for the pain." He teased his friend.

Ryan watched as Claire kept trying to hide her leg. He moved close to her, "What happened Claire?" He asked, looking down at her. "Im not going to tell anyone." he assured her.

Santana nodded, "Yea she wants to go to some party tonight." She said smiling. She looked at the tattoo, "I love it." She said, looking back at him.

Claire heard him and felt him move closer and bit her lip when he asked and felt tears coming to her eyes and she whispered, "My razor happened." She looked down then and frowned to herself knowing she'd never told anyone in her life about this mess and everyone just thought she was so happy.

Jake nodded and raised an eyebrow, "Ooh drinking." He joked. He then asked, "You gonna go?" He laughed and smiled hearing her, "Well, then that settles it. I'm gonna have to get this bitch finished." He teased.

Ryan frowned, "What?" He asked. He took her hands and took her to the bathroom. He shut the door, so Casey wouldnt see. He sat  on the side of the bathtub, "Show me." He said softly, going to remove the bandage. "Did you clean it?" He asked as he carefully pulled the bandage off. "Why would you do this?" He asked, looking up at her.

Santana shrugged, "I might. I am hanging out with you right now. Unless you want to go with me" She said, smiling. Santana bit her bottom lip lightly, "If you can tolerate your sister." She said..

Claire bit her lip and sighed when he dragged her to the bathroom with by her hands and was glad when he closed the door. She frowned when he said to show him and pulled her nike shorts up revealing her skin and took off her bandage to show scars littering her thighs both of them, as well as fresh cuts appearing on her skin. "I did it in the shower, so yes it's clean." She murmured feeling him pull the rest of the bandage off. "It's this or leave Casey and i'm not leaving Casey." She murmured tears falling from her eyes. "How else am I supposed to deal with my mom?" She whispered before wiping her tears away and shook them off sighing as he inspected her already scabbed up cuts as well as the scars. She had a few on her wrists but she had quickly switched to her thighs so no one would see.

Jake nodded and laughed hearing her. "I"ll go with you, yeah. When this tattoo gets done, but I'm not going to be able to dance that much because of the fact that it's covering half of my torso." He laughed and smiled at her. "I'll brave my sister for you." He told her.

Ryan looked at her, "Claire what would you do if something happened and you were here for Casey at all?" He asked shaking his head. "I know how awful it must be with your mom, but you shouldnt do this." He said. "Where is your bandages so i can cover it again?" He asked. He was really worried about her now.

Santana smiled, "I wont make you dance." She said laughing softly. She was glad he said he would go, "Well arent you sweet." She said laughing softly. She knew Julie would be distracted by the guy she was talking to anyway.

Claire sighed and said, "Nothing is going to happen, Ryan." She muttered and shook her own head seeing him do that and said, "It doesn't matter." She told him and sighed once more before running a shaking hand throughout her hair. She turned and found some and handed them to him the scars on her wrist white against her tanned skin.

Jake laughed and nodded, "I'm glad cause this bitch stings." He said wincing every now and then. He grinned hearing her, "I'm really not." He laughed before sitting there chatting with her for a few more hours until his tattoo was done. He stood up and looked in the mirror and said, "Daaamn. Sick."

Ryan frowned, "I'm just really worried about you." He said, watching her. He wrapped her legs for her. He watched her, "Please don't do this to yourself again." He whispered. "What if Casey seen you?" He asked. He wanted her to realize how much she could not only hurt herself, but her little brother as well.

Santana watched as he looked in the mirror, "It's amazing." She said as she stood up. "Are you ready?" She asked once he was finished with everything. She walked out of the shop with him, "Well that was eventful." She said, laughing softly.

Claire heard him and sighed, "Why?" She looked at him watching from underneath her lashes as he wrapped up her leg and heard him and held her arm to her side tightly and bit her lip as she heard him. "Casey never sees me do it because I make sure not to." She whispered. "The one time he did he asked if mom did it." She told him before shaking her head. "I'll be fine." She told him and sighed running a hand throughout her hair.

Jake smiled hearing her and nodded in agreement. He let his friend wrap it up before putting his shirt up and nodded hearing her. He gave his friend a 100 dollar bill and clapped him on the back before heading out with her. "Always if when I get a tattoo. Where's yours?" He asked her chuckling softly as he took her hand gently.

Ryan looked at her, "I don't want to see you really hurt yourself. You are too amazing for that." He said, shaking his head. He hated to think of her getting hurt. He looked over when he heard Casey yell for her. "Come on." He said, opening the door and letting her go first. He smiled as her little brother came running.

When they got back to Jake's house, Julie met them at the door. "Took you long enough." She said. Santana shrugged, "Jake had to have a big tattoo done." She said, laughing softly. Julie looked at her, "Well we need to get going." She said. Santana nodded, "Okay well Jake is coming." She said. Julie looked at him and sighed, "Whatever let's go." She said.

Claire sighed hearing him and blinked hearing his last words and murmured, "I'll be fine." She told him taking his hand for a moment before letting go when she heard Casey calling her and opened the door and smiled and caught him as he ran into her and lifted him up spinning him around giving him kisses. "Hi munchkin." She said grinning. "Claire Bear guess what?" He said smiling. "What?" She asked crouching down to his height and he smiled before giving her a bracelet he had made at school. She smiled and put it around her wrist. "It's perfect." She said telling him thank you and kissing his head once more before saying to Ryan, "We should probably continue studying now." She smiled.

Jake picked his shirt up after hearing Santana talk about his big tattoo and he grinned. "It's wicked. Santana's is pretty cool too." He teased before smiling still having her hand in his. "Alright. Who's party is this anyways?" He asked raising an eyebrow. He walked with them to Julie's car and got in the back with Santana and popped his neck.

Ryan ran down the street in the darkness, having shoved the jewelry he stole in his pocket. He sprinted down an alley and climbed a fence at the end. He thought of the best place to go and thought about Claire. He got to her house then went to her window and knocked on it. He had scaled his way onto the roof below her window. He bit his bottom lip lightly, hoping that she would open the window. He was relieved when she opened it, "I need in." He breathed heavily. "Please." He begged, hearing the sirens in the distance.

Santana stood with Jake, sipping on her drink. Julie had ran off with some guy and Santana did not want to follow her around all night. "I really just want to sleep." She admitted, laughing softly. Santana loved parties, but sometimes she just wanted to be at home and relaxing.

Claire had been just reading her book in her room when she heard a tap at her window. She looked over and her eyes widened seeing Ryan. She went over and frowned raising a finger to her lips and opened her window gently before letting him in. "What the hell is going on?" She whispered fiercely confusion taking place in her brain as she realized she was just wearing a tank top with her panties and blushed hoping he didn't notice.

Jake spoke with Santana and nodded in agreement. "I feel it. Sitting all day getting a tattoo really does exhaust you for some reason." He told her smiling down at her and saw a girl across the room winking at him and turned his attention to Santana completely ignoring the girl.

Ryan climbed in her window, shutting it. "I...I messed up. Can i stay here for a few hours?" He asked her, his eyes looking desperate. He couldn't go home because his mom would be so pissed. He looked around her room, then looked back at her. He looked out the window, watching as one of the cops drove by the house.

Santana smiled at him and looked over at the girl that winked at him. "Going to go run off with your friend?" She asked him. It was more of a test to see if he was serious about her. She knew that he was, but she wanted to make sure.

Claire blinked and heard him and whispered, "What did you do?" She asked him frowning as she did so. She then stood up and got a pair of shorts on before going back and getting him a blanket and a pillow for if he wanted it. "You're lucky it's friday." She whispered to him. She sighed as he shut her window and sat down pulling a pillow to her chest and hugging on it as she sat down frowning at him waiting for some kind of explanation.

Jake raised an eyebrow hearing her and said, "Not really. I like you more." He said and gave her a smile before getting a drink and taking a sip of it to make sure it wasn't spiked before drinking the rest of it and looking aroound and said, "This is kind of a lame party." He laughed.

Ryan sighed as he watched her sit on the bed, “I…” He paused and pulled the jewelry from his pocket. He laid it on her desk and then sat on the bed next to her, “I’m sorry. I should have come here, but I couldn’t go home.” He said, shaking his head. Ryan looked over at her, “Is your mom home?” He whispered.

Santana smiled, “Well Julie picked it so it probably is.” She said, laughing. “I am the fun one remember.” She said as she finished her drink. “Do you want to go outside?” She asked. She was tired of the people in the house.

Claire raised an eyebrow hearing him and saw the jewelry and her eyes widened, "What is that!?" She hissed pointing to it and then heard him say he was sorry. "Why wouldn't you go home?" She asked concerned now. "I don't know. Usually she just comes in drunk some nights, others she just stays home." She muttered before turning to him with a frown adorning her face.

Jake laughed and said, "What do you mean?" He grinned and said, "I always knew that." He smirked throwing away his drink before nodding hearing her request. "Yeah, it's pretty much boring in here. The music is ass and the people are just trying to get high or drunk." He laughed.

Ryan looked at her, "I stole it." He said as he looked at his hand. He looked over at her when she asked why he couldn't go home. "She's kind of a drunk and she would tell on me." He said. He sighed when she said that her mom comes in on drunk nights. Ryan took his shoes off, "i will be gone early in the morning." He said as he sat on the floor.

Santana laughed softly, “Yea they suck.” She said as she walked outside with him. She watched as he sat on one of the benches then sat in his lap. She was careful not to touch his side that he had just got done. She leaned in and kissed him softly.

Claire sighed hearing him and murmured, "Why would you do that?" She asked him frowning and blinked hearing, slightly shocked to hear his words, "Why would she tell on you? She's your mom." She murmured frowning. She heard him and sighed shaking her head, "If you're going to stay here, stay the entire night without worrying about anything." She told him.

Jake nodded in agreement. "This is why all my friends just go around fighting." He laughed. He sat down on a bench and looked up smirking when he felt her in his lap and kissed her back his arms wrapping around her waist to bring her closer to him as he looked up at her.
