When We Were Young

Claire sighed seeing his response and sent back, Only when shes drunk or pissed. I usually shield my brother so she doesn't hurt him any. Don't worry, i'm used to it. No one even has a clue, except you. She sighed and hoped he didn't call the cops or something. She didn't want Casey to go through that. She was going to turn eighteen and hopefully get custody over him. She then sent, My plan is to wait it out until I turn 18 and then get custody over Casey..

Jake felt Santana shaking him nad looked over at her before hearing the knocking on his door. He groaned sliding out from under her gently and covering her with his blanket lightly so she was comfortable. He opened his door keeping it only slightly ajar so no one could see inside, "Who is it?" He asked once he opened the door rubbing his eyes.

Ryan bit his bottom lip lightly as he read over her text message. Well, If you need somewhere to go or anything, let me know. He set it and thought about her. He hated to think that he couldn't do much for her. Clearly she didn't want this to get out, but he also didn't want to see her get hurt. I will help you if you need me to. He texted.

Julie stood there and smirked, "Breakfast is ready. Might wanna tell Santana." She said, narrowing her eyes. "Ruin my friend yet?" She asked before she walked off and went to go eat. Santana looked over at the door and stretched before she sat up. She looked at Jake, "What's wrong?" She asked.

Claire blinked seeing his text and smiled gently, before nodding her head even though he couldn't see it. Thank you, Ryan. I just. It gets tough with her like this.. She got up and got into the shower and started to sob holding her hand over her mouth so her mom didn't hear her. She sniffled and took a razor and made cuts on her thighs before washing and taking care of the wound and going back to her phone and pulled her knees to her chest. I'm gonna go to sleep, hun. Goodnight. She went to bed and woke up in hte morning and wore a pair of tights and a t-shirt and grabbed her back going to school.

Jake nodded hearing Julie say so. He heard her words and slammed the door in her face. "Breakfast is ready." He muttered getting his shirt gently and shaking his head. "She looked at me and asked, "Ruin my friend yet?' and yes that's word for word what she said." He put it over his head and stuck his arms through before turning to look at her.

Ryan got dressed for school the next day and drove to school. He got off his motorcycle and walked in. He scanned the hallway, looking for Claire. He was worried about her. He seen her and moved over to her, "Hey." he said, smirking.

Santana frowned, "Do you two ever get along?" She asked as she got out of his bed. "It will be fine." she said, kissing him before she left to go get dressed for the day. Once she was dressed she walked downstairs and sat down at the kitchen table.

Claire didn't wear makeup today and felt bare without it. She also had her hair pushed away from her face. She was at her locker getting some books out of it. She had used a tiny bit of concealer so no one could tell she had been crying. Hearing someone say hi, she looked up and smiled softly seeing that it was Ryan. "Hey she murmured." She saw Drew just glaring holes in Ryan's back and rolled her eyes sighing. She didn't like to be mean, but she felt like in a moment she was going to be.

Jake frowned and said, "I haven't even done anything. Most of the time I don't do anything. She just says shit." He sighed and nodded hearing her and kissed her back. He went down to the table and sat down beside Santana and got some orange juice and drank his glass' fill and looked at his mom saying morning.

Ryan watched her, "Are you okay?" He asked her. He walked with her, glaring at Drew. He really wanted to his him. He knew that it would just upset Claire thought. Ryan walked into class and sat down at his desk.

Santana ate her food, looking at everyone. She never liked the tension between the two siblings, but she was excited to spend the day with Jake. She looked at him, "What time do you want to leave?" She asked him.

Claire nodded and murmured, "Yeah." She lied and smiled at him trying to make it seem like she was actually alright. She frowned seeing Drew continuing to glare at him and sighed ignoring him as she walked with Ryan. She got into class with him an dsat down beisde him and waited for the teacher to start lecturing. Her leg was throbbing at this point. She had rebandaged it this morning and was sure it wouldn't bleed through the band aid.

Jake ate his food quietly every now and then making conversation with Santana and his mother but ignore Julie who was just bitching to his dad. He sighed and then heard Santana and smiled, "Whenever you want. Let me text him first and let him know I'm coming in." He took his phone out and texted his friend letting him know that his special friend needed a tattoo and he was thinking of getting one as well.

Ryan thought about Claire and how he could help her, but he couldn't come up with anything. Once the bell rang he got to his feet and walked to Claire, "So are you still going to be able to tutor me after school today?" He asked. He wasn't sure if she felt up to it, but it was worth asking.

Santana nodded, "Okay." She said. Once she finished eating she walked over to the sink and cleaned off her plate. She sat down at the table and waited while he texted his friend. She was pretty excited about getting a new tattoo.

Claire just took notes before sighing as the bell rang. She stood up and got her stuff and blinked seeing Ryan in front of her. Hearing him, she bit her lip, "Yes but I have to babysit Casey tonight, so it'll have to be at my house. " She said then quickly added, "My mom will be out tonight." She bit her lip again harshly, "I hope that's okay." She told him as she pushed a piece of hair behind her ear gently.

Jake smiled and got a text back saying hell yeah and he laughed at the response and sent one back saying they'd head over soon. He looked up at Santana and said, "Yeah, he says he'll give you one so long as I let him do my ribs." He chuckled and sat in his chair and heard Julie say, "What!? Give you what!?" Jake rolled his eyes and said, "Tattoo, sis." She looked at Santana frowning.

Ryan nodded, "Yea that's fine with me." He said. He watched her for a moment, "I will see you after school okay." He said as he stopped in front of his next class. "See you later." He said as he walked into the room. After school he headed over to Claire's and walked up to the door. He knocked and waited for her to answer. He felt like this was really going somewhere because of how she had opened up to him the night before.

Santana smiled at her friend, "We shall see you later." She said, walking away with Jake. She could tell that Julie was pissed, but she would have to get over it. Once they got to the tattoo parlor she walked in with him and looked around. She looked at him, "So what did you decide on?" She asked him.

Claire nodded and said, "Alright. Have a good day." She told him before going off to her next class. When practice was over she ran home in time to get Casey and make sure he was sitting before she went and changed into a pair of nike shorts forgetting about her leg completely, and a tank top. She opened the door when he knocked and sighed and said, "I literally just got changed." She took a breath and then smiled letting him in.

Jake almost laughed at the look on Julie's face. He got into his car and drove them to the tattoo parlor. "Well, I'm lrtting my friend make me one so when he draws it up, i'll know." He laughed and said, "What about you? You never told me what you wanted." He smiled.

Claire nodded and saw him notice her leg, and said, "Nothing, don't worry about it." She pulled her nike shorts down a little further before going and sitting down with him. Casey jumped onto of her and she laughed kissing him all over his face and laughed as he giggled. She sat him on her lap while she helped Ryan a smile on her face. She occasionally would just kiss Casey's cheek and let him write stuff all over her papers. She smiled.

Jake laughed and saw it and nodded, "What changes do you want?" He asked her and smiled at her. "We're gonna be here all damn day because that's gonna take 6 hours minimum and mine's going to take probably 12." He laughed. "I know the guy, he's gonna go all out. Granted he might get another guy to do yours while he's working on me." He smiled and kissed her back hands going to her waist gently before kissed her nose and said, "Fuckface!!" The dude behind the counter came up and said, "My favorite cunt! What's up?"

Ryan smiled at her and listened to her as she explained stuff. He looked at Casey when he complained about being hungry. Ryan looked at Claire, "You might wanna feed the little guy." He teased her. "I need a break anyway." He assured her.

Santana smiled, "Well then i guess i get to spend all day with you." she said. She looked over as he spoke to his friend. She walked with him to his friend, listening to their banter.

Claire laughed hearing Casey and smiled hearing Ryan. "Well, then you're staying for dinner." She told him as she stood up and began to cook spaghetti with garlic bread and green beans. Once she was done, she got three plates and put Casey's food on his and set it at the table with his fork and fixed Ryan a plate and her own before sitting down and getting them all some water. "I hope you don't mind water, we have pepsi, but I didn't know if you wanted that." She told him as she gave him his fork.

Jake smiled and kissed her head again. He grinned and sighed telling him that his girl wanted her tattoo but he was also gonna let him do his ribs today. He artist nodded before calling in his friend and telling him he'd like her to do Santana's tattoo while he did Jake's. Jake nodded and smiled at Santana before letting his friend sketch up something. He came back showing Jake the tattoo that he wanted on his ribs. Jake grinned, "Looks sick man." He told him.

Ryan nodded, "Im not going to argue about food." He said, laughing. He walked to the kitchen and sat down at the table. He shook his head, "Water is fine. Thanks." He said as he took the fork from her. He began to eat then took a sip of his water. "Its really good." He said looking over at her.

Santana couldnt help but get a tingle inside when Jake called her his girl. She smiled at the tattoo his friend drew up for him, "I like it." She said, looking up at him. She smiled when it was time to get started. She sat in the chair and relaxes. She was surprisingly not nervous about this. she was more excited than anything.

Claire laughed and nodded, "Good." She said and smiled at Casey making funny faces at him gently. She smiled as he said that and nodded to him. "Alright." She began to eat all well and heard him tell her it was really good and chuckled, "Thank you." Casey said, "Claire Bear should be a cook!" Claire blushed when he said her nickname and chuckled.

Jake smiled and nodded hearing Santana say she liked it. "Alright, let's get to it. God you're a bitch for making me get my ribs done." He told his friend jokingly before taking his shirt off and turning on his side that was yet to be filled in and got into a comfortable position while he put the stencil on and his friend started to get started with Santana.

Ryan smiled at her brother, "Oh yea? I think i would go eat her food." He said, looking over at Claire. He thought it was cute that she had a nickname.

Santana was finished before Jake, which she expected. She walked to where he was, smiling as she watched him laying there shirts. "How's it going?" She asked as she sat down in the chair near him.

Claire smiled hearing them discussing and she was pretty sure Ryan just became Casey's new best friend as Casey started to talk to him about motorcycles and stuff like that. She smiled at Ryan and continued to eat her food happy to see that Casey had devoured his green beans.

Jake looked up and gave a grunt. "This bitch hurts worse than my back and I did my back in a day." He said laughing. He turne alittle more so his friend could get straight lines and poked her face. "It's going though. He finally finished the outline so now for details." He smiled and just continued to lay there.
