    I thought for a moment. I remember them playing in Seattle last year and I wanted to go but Colton wouldn't let me. "I was going to see you guys last summer when you played in Seattle but someone called in at work and I had to cover for them." I lied. "I was pretty mad." I said, sipping my drink.

    I hesitated but I hugged him back. I knew Matt would never hurt me and Colton had no idea where I was, even if every little sound made me jump and think he was going to burst through those doors at any moment. "Ah a lot of reasons. My roommate and I weren't getting along, I also lost my job and my dad wouldn't take me back in so I just left." I said. It wasn't all a lie, I had lost my job because of Coloton and my dad wouldn't take me back in cause of his new wife and she hated me.

    I looked at her. While my life was going on fantastically, hers was falling apart. "Well, tell ya what Little Bird. It just so happens that we are hiring some people to work backstage for us. You can stay with me until you get your own place, and I'll give you a job until you can find one that you really like?" I suggested. "You'l l get to travel around the world, see new places, try new things. It'll be fun."

    I looked over at Matt as Brian led him away. My phone vibrated and I pulled it out. Colton was texting me, asking where I was. I ignored it as I sipped my drink.

    Brian looked back at Brooke once more and sighed. "The guys and I noticed something when she was hugging you, I don't know if we were seeing things or if the lights were playing tricks but when she hugged you, her shirt came up and her back and sides were littered in bruises, man. Someone's beating her, and I guarantee you that's why she came back." He said.

    I looked at Brian and then looked at Brooke. The thought of someone beating my best friend made my blood boil. I didn't let it show. "Thank you for telling me. I appreciate it," I said before walking back over to Brooke. I gave her a.smile and decided to wait until we made it back to my house. I wasn't going to say anything to her in public. I didn't want to embarrass her.

    Once we were in the car, I turned to look at her. "Brooke, I want you to be completely honest with me. I'll know if you're lying. I always have. Did you come home because someone has been abusing you?" I asked her in a serious tone. If she was, I was going to be pissed, mainly at the person who was beating her, but partly because she didn't come home sooner.

    I looked at Matt and opened my mouth before closing it again. I knew I couldn't lie to him though. I felt tears prick my eyes and I knew it would ruin the tattoo coverup I had on my face and arms eventually but I didn't care. I looked at him and wiped my face and just answered with a simple, "yes."

    I shook my head, "if he shows up here, Matt, you need to stay away from him. He's dangerous and he knows people." I said. "Not only would you be risking your life and mine, but you'll be risking Brian's and Zacky's and Jimmy's and everyone you know." I explained. I had more tears coming down my face and it was washing all the makeup and tattoo coverup I had put on it to hide the bruises.
