Artemis nodded, helping Fae into her car and drove back to her place. She quietly got the test and handed it to the blonde. “I’ll be right here waiting for you,” she stated.

Zack pulled his phone out, taking a deep breath as he dialed Matt’s number. Would the other boy even answer him? Probably not, but he had to try.

Fae nodded her head. She walked into the bathroom and followed the instructions, not sure whether she was worried or excited. Seeing Celeste made her want to have a baby, but at the same time, now wasn’t a good time to have one. It wasn’t safe with the cult around. She paced back and forth as she waited, her stomach in knots.

“What,” Matt snapped.

Artemis waited nervously as she sat down on her old bed, hoping whatever happened that Fae would be okay.

“Matt, it’s Zack,” Zack mumbled into the phone. “I know I’m probably the last person you want to hear from right now, but I just wanted to tell you, I had nothing to do with the wolfsbane. I swear to you.”

After a few minutes had passed, Fae picked up the test and closed her eyes, walking out to Artemis. “You look at it, I can’t,” she mumbled.

“What makes you think I’d believe you,” Matt hissed. “Especially after everything you’ve put me, Fae and Artemis through.”

“It’s positive,” Artemis whispered. She looked at her friend, giving her a small smile because she was genuinely happy for her and Matt.

“I don’t know what I can do to prove it to you,” Zack said. “But if I had done it, why would I be apologizing for it? I would have wanted to see you act that way. But I didn’t. I hated seeing you that way…” He shook his head quickly. “It doesn’t matter if you believe me or not, I just wanted to tell you.”

Fae bit her lip hard. “I don’t know whether to be happy or scared,” she admitted.

“Don’t take Celeste from her dude,” Matt mumbled. “She’s barely holding on as it is losing you.”

“Everything will be okay,” Artemis assured her. “I’ll make sure of it.”

“She abandoned our son,” Zack mumbled. “How do I know she won’t do the same to Celeste?”

Fae sighed softly and nodded her head. “I guess we better go find Matt then,” she said. “I need to tell him right away.”

“I trust Artemis,” Matt stated. “Her telling me to stop is the reason I didn’t try and kill you with that scum of a lawyer today.” He looked down at his hands and sighed softly. “Now that she knows Cole is alive she’ll get him back.”

Artemis nodded. “Let’s check your place first.”

Zack sighed. “I have no choice,” he mumbled. He looked over when he saw his mom approaching. “I have to go.” He hung up, letting out a heavy sigh.

Fae nodded and got in the car with Artemis, hoping Matt would be okay with the situation.

Matt growled before he threw his phone against the wall. He had to get Zack away from his family.

“He’ll be happy,” Artemis reassured Fae.

Zack walked over to Veronica, grabbing her wrist roughly. “Did you do it?” he hissed.

Fae nodded. She drove them to the woods where her home was, getting out and leading Artemis into the woods. “Matt?” she called out.

Veronica pulled away from Zack and glared at him. “So you really think I’m that stupid?”

“He’s in the house with the baby sweetie,” Fae’s mom stated.

“Well someone had to, and nobody hates them more than you do,” Zack said.

Fae nodded her head. She wasn’t ready to tell her mom yet. She needed to figure things out with Matt first. She shifted both herself and Artemis, leading her inside. When she saw Matt, she walked over and sat down beside him. “I need to talk to you,” she said.

“I wouldn’t put your life or mine in danger,” Veronica hissed. “If anyone is that foolish I would say it was your father.”

“I’m sorry,” Matt whimpered. “If I had known there was wolf’s bane there I wouldn’t have stepped into that court room.”

Zack frowned. He never would have thought his parents would stoop that low, but he guessed he was wrong. He walked over to his parents and his lawyer. “Who did it?” He hissed, looking at his dad. “Was it you?”

Fae shook her head. “I’m not mad at you,” she murmured. “It just scared me a little.” She looked down at Celeste and then back up at him. “I’m pregnant.”

“That’s none of your concern Zackary,” his father hissed.

“You’re pregnant,” Matt questioned. “Did you just find out?”

“Yes, it is!” Zack exclaimed. “Matt was my best friend!”

Fae nodded her head. “Artemis gave me a test,” she mumbled.

“He was supposed to kill her,” his father stated. “It’s not my fault your mutt friend wasn’t useful.”

“Are you okay,” Matt asked.

Zack stared at his dad. “You were trying to kill Artemis?” he asked.

Fae nodded her head. “Are you?”
