Zack hadn’t seen Fae in a couple days and decided to check on her. He walked the local drug store, needing to grab a prescription for his mom, shocked when he saw Fae at the register. “Fae,” he called out. “I was just about to call you.

Artemis heard the door to the room she shared with Apollo and sighed softly. She realized if it had been that had seen it he would be pissed. She and Apollo cling to each other pathetically because between her with Matt and Apollo with his night terrors they needed the type of unconditional love and affection only twins could give each other. So every night they had started cuddling with each other as they slept, using that as a temporary type of bandaid for all their problems.

Fae nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard Zack, quickly shoving the pregnancy test over the counter, out of his view. She smiled at him. “Hey,” she said, walking over to kiss his cheek. “That’s convenient, huh? What are you doing here?”

Apollo slowly cracked his eyes open, waking up almost directly after Artemis did. He looked up at her, frowning. He reached up and gently touched her cheek, rubbing gently at the makeup that was there to cover a bruise. “Why do you let this happen?” he asked.

“I needed to grab something from the pharmacy for my mom,” he stated. He looked over her at the counter and saw the cashier pick up a pregnancy test. “Is it mine,” he asked.

Artemis flinched when Apollo touched her cheek. It was still extremely tender and hurt to be touched. “Don’t,” she hissed as she pulled away. “If it wasn’t for Matt we’d be homeless right now.” She got up out of bed, grabbing a change of clothes so she could shower.

Fae glanced over her shoulder, cursing quietly under her breath. She looked down nervously, knowing there was no point in lying. “Yeah, if I am,” she mumbled.

Apollo sat up, frowning as he watched her. “I’d rather be homeless than watch you suffer,” he said. “You’re better than this. You deserve better.”

“When do you think you’ll take the test,” Zack asked.

“Stop it,” Artemis snapped. “I don’t need you doing this.” She slammed the dresser drawer shut and glared at her brother. “I have enough messes to fix without adding finding a new place to live on top of it!” She left the bedroom, walking into the bathroom and turned the shower on. She waited until it was warm, climbing in and began quietly crying once the water touched her face.

“I was going to go take it after I paid for it,” Fae mumbled. “I’m afraid to take it at my house. I’m not sure how my parents will react.” Her parents might be very laid-back hippies, but she wasn’t really sure about their feelings on her having a teen pregnancy. She was sure they wouldn’t be too pleased.

Apollo flinched, frowning as he laid back on the bed, pulling the blanket over his head and curling into a ball.

Matt walked upstairs to wake Artemis and Apollo up for breakfast when he heard the shower running. He slipped into the bathroom, biting his lip gently. He stripped out of his clothes and slipped into the shower behind her.

“Do you want to take it at my place,” Zack asked.

Artemis felt someone get into the shower behind her, her body tensing when she realized it was probably Matt. They still hadn’t had sex again and she was sure it was one of the reasons he used her like a human punching bag.

Fae nodded her head. “Yeah,” she said.

Matt placed his hands on Artemis’s hips, leaning down and pressing his lips to her neck.

“Do you want me to drive you or do you want to follow me,” he asked.

Artemis flinched when she felt Matt’s lips on her shoulder, still in pain from the night before when he had hit her all over body.

“I’ll follow you,” Fae said, grabbing the pregnancy test. She was honestly surprised he wasn’t freaking out at her.

Matt frowned when she flinched, tightening his grip on her waist slightly. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

Zack nodded, he gave her a quick peck on the lips before he went to grab what he needed.

“Did you already forget using me as a punching bag last night,” Artemis asked.

Fae went out to her car, getting in and starting it. She took a deep breath, slowly exhaling it and sighing softly.

Matt huffed. He turned her around, looking down at her. “Let me just love you,” he said.

Zack drive to his house after he got the medication, finally starting to feel super nervous about what was happening. He could be a teen dad and it terrified him.

Artemis clenched her jaw, biting back another comment as she let Matt hold her.

Fae followed Zack to his house, climbing out of the car and walking inside with him. She waved at his grandparents before going upstairs. She walked into the bathroom, shutting the door and opening the box.

Matt leaned down, pressing his lips to hers, running his hands up and down her sides.

Zack sat on his bed, extremely nervous about the results of the test. He wasn’t sure he could even handle being a dad.

Artemis flinched when Matt kissed her, the fat lip he had given her several days before still sore. She clenched her eyes shut and began kissing him back, knowing if she didn’t he would probably hurt her more.

Fae took the test and then walked into his bathroom, setting the stick down on top of his dresser before she sat down next to him. “We have to wait a few minutes,” she said.

Matt frowned as he pulled back to look down at her. He reached up, lightly touching her lip. It looked awful, and he hadn’t really realized just how badly she looked until this moment.

Zack nodded, nervously moving to hold her hand.

Artemis clenched her eyes shut, trying to brace herself for Matt to hit her again. She was scared she had pissed him off again.

Fae squeezed his hand gently. “I’m sorry we weren’t more careful,” she mumbled.

Matt stared down at her for a moment before he leaned down and kissed her again. He wanted her so badly at that moment.

“Don’t apologize,” Zack mumbled. “Whatever happens we’ll handle it together.”

Artemis kissed Matt back, hoping this meant things would be okay again, even if it was only for a little while.

Fae looked up at him, smiling softly. She was glad that he was being supportive so far. She leaned her head on his shoulder, staring at the stick on the nightstand. It felt like hours had passed by the time only five minutes had. She stood up, biting her lip as she walked over and picked it up. She looked at the pink plus in the center, her stomach turning. “It’s positive,” she said.

Matt reached up and ran his fingers through her hair as the water ran over it. “Come to my room with me,” he mumbled against her lips.
