Zack kisses Fae back, happy he had someone that could help him be happy.

Artemis shook her head. “We got left on their doorstep,” she mumbled. “So they don’t know anything.”

Fae pulled away and opened her textbook. “You’re still going to go for the scholarship, right?” she asked as she grabbed her notebook, opening it to a fresh page. “I don’t want you to skip out on that just because of this.”

“Jesus Christ,” Apollo muttered. He sat on the edge of the bed, looking up at her. “How do you know all of this?”

Zacky nodded. “Yeah but it’s for baseball,” he stated. “I don’t need to ace my classes to get it.”

“I remember everything from the other timeline,” Artemis mumbled. “Matt remembers some of it too.” She looked at her brother, biting her lip nervously before she sat up in bed. “I can try to help you remember too if you want.”

“I’m not concerned about your grades,” Fae said. “I’m concerned about you giving up on your dream because I’m pregnant. I don’t want you do give anything up for me.”

Apollo bit his lip as he considered the thought. It was all so much to process at once. “What happened to me in the other timeline?” he asked, afraid that maybe Zack’s parents had done even worse things to him.

“I can do both Fae,” Zack insisted. “Now stop stressing.”

“You never told me,” Artemis mumbled. “But they had you chained up in the basement.”

Fae sighed softly and nodded her head. “Sorry, it’s in my blood,” she joked. She began doing her homework, just enjoying being in Zack’s company.

“I don’t know if I want to remember anymore of that,” Apollo admitted. “Maybe it’s best if you don’t help me remember. Zack’s dad… He’s not a good man.” He’d never really told anyone before about the things that had happened in the basement. He just wanted to forget them.

Zack couldn’t help but chuckle at her joke. “I thought fairies were supposed to be laid back,” he teased.

Artemis nodded, moving to lay back down in bed. “You should go eat breakfast,” she mumbled. “Matt will get mad if at least one of us isn’t down there.”

“Yeah, I’m a lot different than my parents and everyone else like me,” Fae said. “I always just assumed I was different because my parents allowed me to be part of the outside world.”

“Screw Matt,” Apollo snapped. “He doesn’t control me. Or you.” He looked back at her. “You shouldn’t let him take advantage of you.”

“Maybe,” Zack mumbled. “I don’t see why you get stressed over school out of everything you could be stressed over though.”

Artemis got up out of bed, tossing one of the pillows in Apollo’s direction as she did. “Will you just fucking do what I ask for once,” she shouted. “I need time alone to fucking breathe away from you and him!”

“I guess it’s because education is so important to me,” Fae said. “A lot of fairies don’t get a higher education. Most of them are hippies. They barely finish basic schooling. I wanted to have a better life than that. I didn’t want to be forced into the typical life of a fairy.”

“I did what someone asked of me for seven months and I’m tired of it!” Apollo yelled at her. “You don’t own me, nobody owns me! You can’t force me to do shit I don’t want!” He stormed out of the room, going downstairs and running out the front door. As much as he hated being outside, he needed to get away for a little bit, just to be by himself.

Zack nodded, understanding what she meant now that she had explained it.

Artemis frowned, lying back down and bed and hoped Matt left her alone.

“It’s just something I’m passionate about,” Fae said, shrugging her shoulders. “Just like you’re passionate about baseball.”

Matt looked over when Apollo ran out the front door. When his mom questioned it about it, he told her that he probably just needed some time, and he’d come back eventually.

Zack nodded, everything about how she felt kind of just clicking.

Artemis quietly began sobbing in bed, hoping she could fix everything eventually.

Fae smiled softly at him and leaned over to peck his lips.

Matt could hear Artemis upstairs crying, frowning to himself. He looked down at his hands, needing a distraction. He didn’t know why he was going to do this, or why he had any hope that it may work, but before he could even realize what he was doing, his hands were already moving. He texted Zack. Hey man… miss you. He really did miss his best friend. He knew there was probably no chance of Zack texting him back, but there was the slightest sliver of hope.

Zack smiled and kissed Fae back, pulling away to check his phone when it vibrated. The vampire was shocked Matt was texting him especially since he was housing Apollo and Artemis. Prove it. Kick those liars out of your house.

Artemis cried until she has no more tears left to cry, sneaking into the closet and grabbed a small box she had hidden in their and pulled out the razor she has in it. She sat down, staring at the sharp piece of metal before she began slashing her thighs up with it, knowing she deserves to be punished for everything she had done.

Fae raised an eyebrow as she watched Zack. “Who is it?” she asked curiously.

Matt stared at his phone before looking upstairs. He was quickly realizing that he had no reason to kick Artemis and Apollo out. And then it hit him. He walked upstairs, ready to tell Artemis that if she wanted to fuck her brother, she could do it somewhere else. He looked down at his phone as he walked. Done. He opened the door to Artemis and Apollo’s bedroom, walking in and stopping when he saw what she was doing. “What the fuck?”

“It’s Matt,” Zack answered. “He’s texting me.”

Artemis flinched when she heard Matt’s voice, the reality of what she’d done to herself hitting her. She had never been someone to harm herself the way she had and it made her stomach churn. She rushed over to the toilet and began vomiting into it, blood pooling on to the floor underneath and she did.

“Are you two talking again?” Fae asked.

Matt cursed under his breath, walking to the closet and grabbing a towel. “You need to clean up and get out,” he said. “Both of you.”

“If he kicks them out we will be,” Zack replied.

Artemis felt tears fall down her face as she rested her head against the cool porcelain of the toilet lid. “Matt please,” she whimpered. “We have nowhere else to go.”

"Do you miss him at all?" Fae asked.

"Would you rather be put in a mental hospital because I can go grab my mom if you would rather have that," Matt said.
