Hitting road, not looking back | Closed

Shaun climbed out of his car and pulled on his jacket before locking his car. He walked in beside her, he hoped they would enjoy themselves, they both needed it after the day they had. Shaun held the bar door open for her, and they stepped inside. "Lets just have some fun alright, if the crowd is too old, there is a club a couple blocks away," he said

Veronica let a soft laugh escape her lip, “I’m sure it’ll be okay, old people are fun too you know.” She walked in and looked around it was pretty decent amount of people in here, not too crowded, age range was all right too. Veronica made her way to the bar and took a seat ordering a shot of tequila for herself.

Shaun nodded and walked to the bar with her. He looked around the room, it was a decent crowd for now. He flashed the bartender a smile and poured himself a water. He would drink a bit, but didn't really want to get too drunk. "Oh yeah, that is not what I meant though, I didn't think you'd want a load of old creeps hitting on you all night," he said

Veronica drank her shot before ordering a cocktail, she looked over at Shaun, “I know what you meant.” She took a sip of her drink and sighed, “I’m a big girl, I know how to defend myself. Carry pepper spray on my person at all times.” She took another sip, “thanks though, I guess.”

Shaun chuckled, "Oh I know, but after Felix this afternoon I didn't want you to have to deal with it tonight," he said lightly. He sipped his water, "should we find a table?" he asked her

Veronica simply nodded her head, “well thanks fornlooking out did me” She looked over looking at a few tables. “Yeah, sure why not.” She stood up and looked around, “hmmm...”

Shaun grinned, "always," he said. He picked up his water and went with her looking for a table. He prefered sitting at a table over the bar, it was usally more comfortable, aswell as more conducive to talking. He grinned as they found one that was in a good spot. He pulled out a chair for her before taking a seat himself.

Veronica took a seat and smiled she watched as some of the girls around were checking him out. She chuckled, “any of them caught your interest yet? She could feel some eyes on her now, but didn’t think of it. “ the bartender walked over and set a couple drinks for both. “It’s from the girls over there” he told them.

Shaun smiled and thanked the bartender. "Those two seem alright," he said quietly to Veronica, "mind if I invite them over?" he asked. He wasn't massively used to how to react in these situations, but it seemed like the right thing to do.

Veronica she shrugged her shoulders, “sure if someone is gonna get lucky night as well be you” she tease. Taking another sipped she’s watched as the women walked over after he invited them over.

Shaun smiled and pulled seats out for the girls. "Evening ladies," he greeted. He sat down again, "how are you tonight?" he asked, he felt pretty awkward but was trying to keep his cool. In truth, he wasn't desparate to 'get lucky' as Veronica had put it, a decent evening with good company was fine by him.

Veronica wasn’t paying much attention to Shaun or the two women who were walking to him. Making small talk. “Doing good, how are you guys doing?” Veronica took a long drink of the beer she had in hand, she looked over at them. “Eh okay.”

Shaun smiled politely, "had a bit of a rough day," he admitted. He sipped the beer in front of him. "Decided we both needed a night out, maybe salvage the day," he added.

"I'm Shaun, that's V," he said, he hoped they had gathered that they were just friends already, not wanting to have to explain it.

Veronica looked over at the women, “it’s Veronica,” she didn’t need to strange women calling her V. “Yeah, I guess we’re kinda bored..” the girls then looked at Shaun, “You guys looking to have have some fun?” Veronica looked over then at Shaun, trying not to giggle. “I’m sure he does.0

Shaun shrugged, "what did you have in mind?" he asked. He glanced over at Veronica trying to read her, sort of wanting to know her thoughts. She was his voice of reason in situations like this, at least until he was too drunk to care anymore. He also didn't want to abandon her if she wanted him to stick around.

Veronica was just drinking beer after beer, and had some snacks in between. She didn’t need to get drunk. She looked over at Shaun who seemed lost, “you know.. the type where we go to bedroom” she smirked. Veronica chuckled. “Depends on how he’s feeling..”

Shaun grinned slightly, "oh that type of fun, maybe later, how about we just head out dancing, theres a club down the road," he noted. He hoped that his comment didn't make him seem to disinterested, he just wasn't sure that he was up for that type of meaningless sex this early into the night. He finished the beer they'd bought and stood up, "I'll get some refills," he said.

Veronica looked over at Shaun who had just left to get refills and then looked at the woman who were clearly offended. “Okay, so we’re gonna leave now.. have fun with your... friend” one of them spoke up before heading out. Veronica shook her head, “that went well, I think” she said in a sarcastic tone. She waved at some of the men who were winking at her.

“So they left... I hope you didn’t have plans” Veronica laughed softly. “Gotta work on talking to women.. no offense.”

Shaun laughed, "apparently, oh well," he said. He put the drinks down, "You know me I'm clueless sometimes," he noted. He sat back down, "they will be others, I'm sure." He drank one of the beers he'd brought, figuring alcohol might improve his instincts.

"You're getting some looks yourself," he acknowledged.

Veronica rolled her eyes, “You seem so heartbroken” she said sarcastically. “Of course they’re will be others, oh yeah. I guess i am.. you sound so surprised...” she wasn’t sure how to feel about that. “Maybe i should go said hi.” She stood up and walked over to one or the men.
