Hitting road, not looking back | Closed

Shaun laughed, "okay awesome sounds like a plan." He packed their purchases into a bag and they made their way out of the store, it was still only early evening, the sun still out. "What do you want to do until then? anything else you want to pick up, or get?" he asked.

It had been awhile since they had both had time to go out drinking together, life had just seemed to be getting in the way.

Veronica looked over at Shaun and helped him out the bags in his car, “I’m not sure I guess we can just hang out in your car until then.. I’m gonna need to change that’ll be a bit difficult” She chuckled. She got into the passenger seat and waited for Shaun.

She missed hanging out with Shaun he was always fun to hang out with and wasn’t one of those guys who just wanted to sleep with her. They were friends.

Shaun nodded, "okay sounds good I'll find somewhere nice to park up and we can just inventory, and catch up," he said, he didn't want to be driving around aimlessly. He smiled at her, "I'll also try pick somewhere private enough for you to change later."

Shaun paused, "or we could wait here, and you can change in one of the bathrooms, up to you," he noted.

Veronica nodded as she waited for him to park sonewheee, “it’s cool I can change in the car.” She reached for her bag and took a black dress out of her bag along with some deodorant. “I’ll fresh up once you park somewheee” she chuckled.

She brushed hair long dark hair into a slick pony tail, “so I don’t suppose you’re seeing anyone are you? Just curious,, you know I don’t want some psycho girl after me” Veronica joked.

Shaun smiled starting up his car and pulling out heading towards the park. He figured he'd find somewhere to pull up in the shade. He laughed softly, 'no don't worry about that, you know me, more interested in cars than girls," he commented. He wondered whether he had anything nice to wear, he didn't usually go clubbing after all.

Veronica laughed, “I see that hasn’t changed, it keeps you out of trouble women are nothing but trouble. Being one I feel like I know.” Veronica laughed as she went through her bag and put some deodorant on along with some perfume. Humming she looked for some shoes, “I don’t know how I managed to grab something nice” she chuckled. “Glad I did though...” she slowly began to take her shorts off.

Shaun laughed, "oh yeah I know that too, but they both cost about the same unfortunately," he teased. He climbed out of the car wanting to give her some privacy, he knew she wouldn't mind that much, but it just felt right. He went around to the trunk and starting sorting through what he had packed, hoping to find a nice shirt, maybe a clean jacket.

He himself had not packed any hygiene stuff, or shampoo, and he hated to imagine how bad he smelled already. He pulled out the open bottle of rum and took a small swig, knowing that he'd have to drive them to the club once it got dark.

Veronica rolled her eyes, “not all of us are high maintenance you know” she shook her head as she removed her shirt. Humming to herself as she slid the black short dress on. It hugged her body just right, and had a low cut to show enough cleaver but not to over do it.

After applying whatever make up she had in her Veronica told herself she was all set, “well, I’m all set I guess” she shrugged. “You can come back in, I swear my body isn’t that scary!” She laughed.

Shaun reached through the window into the car handing the bottle to her, "just wanted to give you privacy, we need to get along if we're going to be stuck in the car together until LA." He found a jacket and packed everything away again, putting the jacket on his seat, not wanting to wear it just yet.

Shaun climbed back into the car and smiled at her, she looked just as put together as she would if she was leaving her place, an impressive feat. "You look hot, as always," he said

Veronica laughed, “You never had trouble looking at me in a bathing suit,” she didn’t think much of it really. They were so close. She placed her bag in the back and turned to face Shaun.

Rolling her eyes Veronica punched Shaun playfully, “I never look hot, you’re just being nice to spare my feelings. Thanks though.”

Shaun smiled and put his arm on her leg, "no you always look amazing, that's why I don't have trouble looking at you in a bikini," he teased. He pulled his arm away not wanting to send the wrong message, he valued their friendship. He just wanted to cheer her up, stop her from doubting herself.

Veronica shook her head laughing, “whatever. Stop messing with me.” She grabbed her flags from her bag, “who needs heels when flats work!” Veronica didn’t think much of the gesture Shaun was doing. Figured it was just a guy thing. “Just promise that If happen to bump into some chick that you wanna bone you’ll give me a heads up, and I’ll uh find something to do” Veronica teased.

Shaun chuckled, "oh I will, if I can score a shower as well, I'll leave you my keys," he teased. He wasn't really that type of guy though, he just wanted to have some fun. He turned to her, "so what are you going to do when we get to LA?" he asked.

Veronica smiled, “you better, I don’t wanna be stranded all alone with creepy guys all over the place.” Veronica was quick to drop her smile when he asked her that, “uh... I’m not too sure, I guess I’ll figure something out when we get there, what about you?”

Veronica felt lost like she didn’t know what to do with her life and she didn’t really want to share that with anyone. She didn’t want to feel worthless, she hoed to find some thing. LA was the city of dreams right? Maybe she’d get one there.

Shaun nodded, 'I'd never leave you stranded V." He didn't abandon his friends, after all he didn't make them that easily. "Find a job driving or fixing things, maybe for a movie, hey you could try acting, or modelling, I'm sure there are heaps of options out there," he commented.

Veronica chuckled, “I know I was just messing around. I know you wouldn’t.” She didn’t have many friends and the ones she did have were always too busy doing whatever it was. While she spent most of her time with the guys, girls just didn’t get along with her. “That sounds great! Oh me act? Ha! I don’t think so. I’m not cut out for the Hollywood life. Modeling? Meh. I don’t want to be scrutinized for being fat. Which I know I’m not but people probably think i am” she said shrugging her shoulders. “I’ll find something.” If not then she’s just get a normal job as a waitress or a dancer or something.

Shaun nodded, "ah yeah fair enough." He watched as the sun began to set slowly behind the trees in front of them. 'We can worry about all that details later, for tonight lets just have some fun," he said punctuating the statement by starting his car engine with another roar. His car was quite loud when he wanted it to be.

Veronica nodded and turned her head looking out the window, it didn’t take too long to get dark. She stay quiet during the ride, not really having much to say. “How far is this bar you were talking about?”

Shaun smiled gently, "its not far, its a nice place," he said as they pulled onto the street it was on. He pulled up outside finding a park fairly easy. "Alright here we are, I hope the crowd is not too old," he noted.

Shaun preferred bars to clubs, the music was usually better, and the atmosphere more his speed.

Veronica’s attention shifted as they arrived to their destination, she nodded looking at the people going in and out of the bar. “It looks good, I’m sure they’ll people of different ages...” she hoped so anyway.

Veronica got out of the car and looked over at Shaun, she fixed her dress and started walking over to the entrance, following behind.
