It's a Beautiful Day

"I know this is normal. I am just annoyed at how sick I have been." Gabby said as she stared at him. "I'll be okay." She reassured him.

"You want to take a year off?" Mark asked. "I mean if that is what you want, I am here to support you." He said with a sweet smile.

"Well, if I can do anything. Please let me know." Derek smiled at his wife.

Emily looked at him smiling softly, "I do." Emily told him softly.

"I know Derek. Thank you." Gabby said with a sweet smile.

Mark smiled sweetly. He kissed her softly with a smirk.

Nodding his head, Derek smiled at her. "I need to be going." Derek kissed her lips softly.

Emily felt like Mark had gotten some sort of mad. Kissing him back she smiled. "Aren't you working today?" Emily questioned.

Gabby nodded, kissing him softly on the lips. "Alright, I'll see you after my shifts." She said as she picked up some folders of her patients. She had to go meet up with some of them and check on a couple of them as well.

Mark looked to her. "I am not. I actually took today off." He said with a bright smile. "So you two precious jewels get me all day long."

Smiling at his wife he nodded his head, "Alright." Derek told her heading for the OR to start his first surgery.

Emily looked at him and smiled, "That's a surprise." She smiled.

At the end of the day, Gabby was more than ready to go home. It was a long day and now it was time to go home and wind down. She had changed out of her scrubs and then grabbed her bag, waiting for Derek down in the lobby entrance of the hospital. Tonight she wanted to go home, cook with her husband, and cuddle up to a movie.

Matt had spent all day with Emily and the baby. He waited on them hand and food, doing anything to make Emily feel like the luckiest girl in the world. "So honey, when do you think you'd like to get married?" He asked as he looked through their different menu options, trying to decide what to order in for food tonight. He looked over at his darling fiancee who was feeding the baby at the moment.

Derek walked into the lobby as he smiled at Gabby. "There's my beautiful wife." Derek smiled kissing her lips softly. "Rough day?" Derek questioned her.

Emily looked at Mark and smiled, "I'm not sure." Emily told him honestly feeding Sophia. "What about you?" Emily looked at Mark and then back to their daughter.

"Not too bad. Just nausea." Gabby said with a sweet smile. She kissed his lips as she started walking out of the hospital beside him. "But I am ready to go home. I figured we could cook together. Cuddle together. Watch a movie. You know stuff like that." She smiled. "How does that sound?"

Mark looked to her and smiled. "I was thinking maybe Chinese." He suggested. "What do you think of that?" He asked as he pulled out the Chinese menu, reading over the different options.

"That sounds wonderful to me." Derek told her with a smile as he took and slid his arm around her heading for the Rover.

"You want a Chinese wedding?" Emily questioned him smiling. "But it does sound good for supper." Emily smiled.

Gabby climbed into the rover and sat against the seat. She was tired and more than ready to go home.

"Oh I'm sorry, I was looking over the Chinese Menu for dinner.' He chuckled. Looking to her. "What kind of wedding do you want?"

Driving to the small camper the two had while their dream home was being built. Pulling up, Derek got out after killing the engine. He walked around and got his wife out carrying her inside knowing she was wore out. Taking her inside he laid her on the sofa smiling, "Now you relax while I change and get the food out. What would you like tonight?" Derek smiled.

"Simple." Emily looked at Mark smiling. "In the woods, like a country wedding." She smiled at her fiance. "I am from Tennessee after all." She smiled at him biting her lip forgetting as she mentally smacked herself. "Babe." Emily walked over to him after laying Sophia in her crib in their room. "My parents--" She paused. "Um their coming in." She gave him a sheepish smile knowing Mark and her dad didn't see eye to eye nor got along.

Gabby looked to her husband and smiled sweetly, walking into the house. She was complete beat and was more than happy to finally be home. She was walking towards the direction of their bedroom when she heard Derek's question. "Oh I don't know. I'm really in the mood for some kind of pork dinner." She suggested as she slipped out of her work clothes, tossing them in the hamper, before slipping into her comfortable pajamas. Making her way back out of their bedroom, Gabby migrated to the kitchen, smiling at Derek. "What do you think of that?"

Mark looked up at her, listening to her dream wedding. He smiled as he saw her eyes light up with much excitement. Just watching her, smiling a big fool with a giant goofy grin as she spoke. He loved hearing her ideas and plans for their wedding. At this point, Mark would have any kind of wedding that she wanted. All he knew he had to do for sure was be there. When he heard her mention about her parents and them coming in, Mark's face dropped a little. It wasn't that he minded her mom and dad, because he liked her parents. It was just he and her dad didn't always see eye to eye on things and didn't really get along either. But he knew that he needed to be on his best behavior for Emily.

Looking back to his wife. Derek nodded his head softly. "I couldn't agree more. Pork sounds good." Derek took and went about pulling some stuff out to make her some food. Humming a little to himself he took and smiled as he watched her out of the corner of his eye.

Noticing how quiet he had gotten, and how his face dropped. Emily frowned a little, "I promise. He's going to be nice." She told him kissing his lips softly as she placed her hand on his.

Gabby leaned up against the counter, looking down at her phone. She was texting her sister about some things and just smiled. Since she announced her pregnancy her sisters and mother had been texting her. She loved that her sisters and mom wanted to make sure she had things, but she knew she still had time. Catching Derek looking at her, Gabby smirked. 'What?" She giggled.

Mark rose an eyebrow at her, looking to her. "As long as you are sure." He spoke softly as he held her hand. "You're right, he is going to be nice." He leaned down and kissed her nose.

"Just admiring the most beautiful woman ever." Derek smiled at Gabby leaning over and kissing her lips softly.

Emily smiled at him nodding her head. She prayed he would be nice if not. She'd have to make sure her dad knew his place. And knew how to behave.

Gabby instantly blushed. "Well thank you, Dr. Shepherd." She giggled.

Mark looked to her and smiled. "What's on your mind, baby?"

"You're welcome, baby." Derek smiled at his wife and kissed her softly admiring her.

"Nothing." Emily whispered smiling at him. "Just thinking." She pecked his lips smiling as she went about to get some plates out while they waited for their food.

Gabby kissed him and smiling as she sat down, watching him cook.

Placing the food on the table once it was done. Derek sat down with his wife and admired a second before he began eating with her. "Hope you enjoy." Derek smiled at her.

Later on after she had Sophia settled down and resting. Emily sat down as she took and looked over some things and smiled lightly to herself.
